‘Outrageous’: Boehner Blasts ICE for Releasing Hundreds of Illegals from Jail and Blaming ‘Fiscal Climate’

AP
House Speaker John Boehner on Tuesday blasted the decision by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to release hundreds of jailed illegal immigrants and blaming federal budget cuts.
“It’s very hard for me to believe that they can’t find cuts elsewhere in their agency,” Boehner (R-Ohio) told CBS News. “I frankly think this is outrageous…I can’t believe that they can’t find the kind of savings they need out of that department short of letting criminals go free.”
ICE officials said they have released “several hundred” immigrants awaiting deportation because they couldn’t afford to hold them with an expected round of spending cuts set to take effect at the end of the week.
“In order to make the best use of our limited detention resources in the current fiscal climate and to manage our detention population under current congressionally mandated levels, ICE has directed field offices to review the detained population to ensure it is in line with available funding,” agency spokeswoman Gillian Christensen said in a statement Tuesday. “As a result of this review, a number of detained aliens have been released around the country and placed on an appropriate, more cost-effective form of supervised release.”
The announcement came after Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had warned that the $85 million in cuts, known as the sequester, could affect detention policy, according to the Washington Post.
“I’m supposed to have 34,000 detention beds for immigration,” Napolitano said Monday. “How do I pay for those?”
According to the Post, ICE said it’s not dropping its immigration cases against the released detainees and that they will continue to prosecute and monitor them outside detention facilities.
“All of these individuals remain in removal proceedings. Priority for detention remains on serious criminal offenders and other individuals who pose a significant threat to public safety,” Christensen said.

Posted on February 27, 2013 at 10:38amWhat is the big deal. Most of the time DHS\ICE arrests a non-criminal alien and gives him a five or ten thousand dollar bond, 2 weeks later, the aliens sees a DOJ Immigration Judge who cuts it down to $2,500. The alien then bonds out of ICE custody and is given their first of many court dates TWO OR THREE YEARS later.
Don’t blame DHS\ICE for this mess, blame the US Department of Justice Immigration Judges that keep people in custody for so long, instead of making a rapid ruling in their case. Aliens shouldn’t be kept in ICE custody at $100+ a day while their family attempts to raise their bond money, but DOJ Judges are more than will to have ICE spend $3,000 in order to get $2,500 from the alien, and when it is all done, the alien gets all his money back.

This is a clear act of Terrorism. Sequester is being purported against American Citizens to get Barry Obama’s and his Administrations Political Ideologies forced upon a Free Nation.
Terrorism: 1) the use of violence or threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes. 2)the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization. 3) a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.
Where is the outcry. What Barry Obama and his administration has done is a blatant act of domestic terrorism. State By State list of threatened Cuts, and now we will let illigals back out on the Street.

So it’s okay when they get rid of a hundred different programs that help people in need, but when they let non-violent aliens out of jail you are outraged. Your priorities are out of whack. Did you even read the post that you are responding to? It doesn’t even make sense what you are saying. I bet you have 50 guns and you can’t spare a dime to help your kid go to college.

What burden have you placed on your community, the country, or Society as a whole.
It is time to man up and take responsibility for yourself and get off the goverment tit.
Now, for this post: on releasing illegal aliens (criminals.) The current policy of this Administration is to only incarcerate illegal aliens with criminal records. So, who did DHS just release upon the unsuspecting general public? This is a blanat act of Domestic Terrorism to sway the opinion of the American People.

Posted on February 27, 2013 at 12:20pm@NLTEND1… Did YOU read the article? I did not see the term non-violent aliens anywhere. It did, however, describe them as “jailed illegal immigrants”. Every American should be outraged. A USA Today article dated TODAY Feb. 26,2013, describes those detainees who were set free as serious lawbreakers, criminals who are being released onto the streets. It goes on to state that deportation proceedings are pending due to their criminal status. I suppose they will be deported at some point, if they can be LOCATED.. Isn’t that rich? Your wonderful president, who cares sooooooo much about the average American is releasing criminals in order to score some lousy political points, and there you are DEFENDING it. Good Lord would it kill you to inform yourself?

Shoot them at the border, leave em laying. What in your highly enlightened world is illegal? We have unsecured borders in a time of war and you want more outreach. Mine the border, let the drones fire for effect. We have automatic weapons in DHS, ICE, and multitude LE on the border getting rusty and you would prefer the #6 with a medium sprite and extra guacamole? Lets utilize our assets, and enforce what myriad laws we have. Easy peasy and you don’t have to cry and get your panties all wadded up.

That being acknowledged, do you believe American citizens who have broken our laws should also be released into society to prey on innocent people? For that matter how about we just don’t incarcerate any lawbreakers. Would that better suit you? Or is your concern just for the criminal illegals? Even if the sequester doesn’t cause a ripple, Obama will make sure to force disastrous cuts in agencies across the country, mostly cuts that will hurt the elderly, infirm and children, so that he can say “See, I told you so”, and blame Republicans. This man is an outrage. Too bad we can’t just cut services to the clueless idiots who reelected him. They deserve to suffer the crap that he’s dishing out.

I venture to say those directors quietly got their marching orders from the administration to do this as leverage for 0bama. The thing that gets me is how our libs have such a selective memoroy considering that back when Sequestration was even brought up, we knew then that it came from the admin as a recombination for an easy way out of a committee deadlock. Funny, how they all voted for it, but still so many are believing that it was a Republican idea as the press is flogging the GOP. I have to admit, anther masterfully planned attack.
