Is This Bloomberg Businessweek Cover Racist? (They’ve Apologized for It)

Analysts in recent weeks have breathlessly reported that the housing market is on the rise.

You know what that means, right?

For some, it means that with a rebound in the housing industry will mean a rebound in the mortgage business — and predatory lending (i.e. mortgages being aggressively pushed on low-income, low-credit customers).

At Bloomberg Businessweek, this is what it would look like:

“Flips. No-look bids. 300 percent returns. What could possibly go wrong?” the magazine asks.

Unsurprisingly, illustrator Andres Guzman’s cover did not go over well and Bloomberg has since issued an apology.

“Our cover illustration last week got strong reactions, which we regret,” Bloomberg editor Josh Tyrangiel wrote in a statement sent to POLITICO. ”Our intention was not to incite or offend. If we had to do it over again we’d do it differently.”

Thoughts? Do you think Bloomberg overstepped a few boundaries here?

Speaking of reverse racism……have you noticed that a lot of commercials on the tube (when I watch that trash) never portray a white male or if they do he is the stupid one. They will show a black male, a black female, an oriental of either sex, and to represent whites…a white female. It is like white males do not exist on many commercials. If the show couples…they will inevitably show a white woman with a black as her date. This is shown many times in many commercials. I make it a point NOT to buy any product whose commercials are like that. State farm insurance seems to be one of the worst at that lately. Watch their commercials. I am not gay so I am not looking of males of any kind in commecials but it is just the principal of the thing. Whites are being attacked in commecials and we must hit them where it hurts……in the pocket book.

Apparently when you tell the truth are exhibit it in pictures….you are racist. Our first recession in 2007-2008 was caused by Fannie Mae and Freddi Mac forcing banks to give loans for expensive homes to blacks and some latinos who had no way of paying the loans back. Gay little Bwaney Fwank and other demos were behind this bill to placate the Black caucus boys. We all know it pulled down everything. We all know that when black leftist get what is coming to them….it’s raaaaaaacist.

A caricature is representational art, not an accurate depiction. Having said that, any characters would have been comical or distorted, no matter what thier race or skin tone. I actually think the cover is not at all racist because it shows that African Americans have arrived! Obama in the White House, and African American caricatures in a house.

The idea here is that Obama should have never got involved. He should have let the housing market plummet instead of propping it up with tax-payer dollars and his infinite QE. 80% of the housing starts since Obama took over are rental properties. The dream of home ownership is dead. Interest rates have never been a problem since Carter. We needed to let the principle fall to where single people could purchase houses. Home values increased .5% a year until Clinton and his mortgage write-off b.s. Home values increased 35% from 92′-2005(insert the word bubble). Has the Nasdaq returned to 5,500? This is why they call them bubbles. Obama has foolishly fueled the fire with easy money. Bernanke admits the goal is to make homeowners feel wealthy again by bringing up their home values and 401k’s so they will go out and spend. Problem is that it’s just not happening to the extent that he thought it would. Americans have learned you don’t mess around with leans against your home or your retirement. The only thing left to do is promote macro-economic growth policies and a stronger dollar.

  Obama couldn’t leave it alone. Because Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were involved. They are Government owned and subsidized. There were Government loans in the mix. Also, AIG insurance was involved. And Wall STreet. Particularly Goldman Sachs. And as everyone knows. Goldman Sachs has a revolving door to the White House. Every member of Congress and everyone in DC had to have their own Wall STreet investments propped up right? I mean: Members of Congress could not afford to LOSE 50% of their retirement in their Government 401 (k) when their investments tanked now could they? So, billions were poured into to shore up those pension plans. When the “trades” of members of Congress were analyzed by an independent firm it was found that Members of Congress had returns on their trades that were 16% higher than the average Wall STreet investor. Inside Trading Tips? You bet! Obama was NOT going to let his cronies or anyone on the hill lose money. Just dip into the US Treasury. Print more money. Monetize the debt but don’t touch the SACRED COW that is the CONGRESSIONAL PENSION PLAN!

Its Master O and Muchelle and their two daughters living it up in the White House spending the American peoples money! But instead of the White House they put them in a regular house making it look like were having a housing boom! Dont look over here folks!!! So he was just letting us know whats really going on!!!
