Mitt Romney Breaks Post-Election Silence in Fox News Interview: Campaign Was Like a ‘Roller Coaster’

NEW YORK (TheBlaze/AP) — Fox News’ Chris Wallace has landed the first post-election interview with defeated Republican nominee Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann.

Wallace said on “Fox News Sunday” that the interview will air on his show next week at 2 p.m. ET and then again at 6 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel. Additional portions will be on Fox News Channel the next day. Wallace says he’ll ask Romney how he has dealt with the defeat, what he plans to do and his thoughts about President Barack Obama’s second-term agenda.

“It’s an adjustment,” Ann Romney said about postelection life in the yet-to-be-aired interview. “But it’s one that I think we did well.”

Mitt Romney referred to his failed presidential campaign as a “roller coaster.”

“We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling ups and downs. But the ride ends. And then you get off and it’s not like, ‘Oh, can’t we be on a roller coaster for the rest of our lives?’ It’s like, no, that ride’s over.”

Fox News spokeswoman Ashley Nerz says the interview will be taped this week in southern California, where Romney has spent much of his time since the election.

Romney has also said he will speak March 15 to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, an annual event that draws leading Republican voices.

  Romney was the worst candidate since Nixon and you know it. He would come out in favor of whatever would get him elected because he somehow thought it was his birthright. People saw right through him and that is why he lost. His ideas on the economy were to go back to what almost caused the second great depression which we are still digging out of. I’m not saying that this was all Bushes fault for the crash nor is it all Obamas credit for the recovery. The crash was because everyone looked the other way while every financial institution was lining their pockets with unstable practices. This is why we need regulation.

Wow! We really missed out as a nation. Mitt and Ann would have been the best thing for America in the past 30 Years. They would have changed the tone of politics, but No we had to re-elect the most corrupt couple ever. The Obama’s used our own money against us by paying people with cell phones, food stamps, and tons of other free things. Mitt and Ann are the kind of Americans that made this nation great and would have righted the ship. Instead we are sinking in debt. $16.6 TRILLION thus far and $40 Billion a day! Barack Hussain Obama said about George W. Bush that the national debt growth of” $6 Trillion in 8 years was UN-American and UN-Patriotic.” Now Obama has grown the national debt by $6 Trillion in less than 4 years. And in preparation for 2016, they are already attacking Marco Rubio because they know he is a scary proposition, as Van Jones put it, against anyone, even Hillary.   $16 billion of Community Development Funds that would be available to any community or state that was declared a federal disaster area in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Twenty-four states sustained damage from Sandy, but this provision extends community development funds to an additional 23 states and Puerto Rico. Only Arizona, Michigan and South Carolina would be left out.
  => another aid for disaster ridden area!! So basically Rubio is not only against sandy victims aid but also any other disaster relief!… now he begs for money to those people. It’s quite embarrassing I would say.

I thought about them as an amazingly good, constructive people. I am sure they have survived the grotesque bullying, the hand made roller coaster, they must be much better than the country is… because America now is even worst; is more devastated now than then, we now ought almost 2 more trillions because since, our nation has been increasingly abused, raped by this false Messiah full of resentment, this angry little man with his heavy hermetic mind, as dumb close ideology, this sick mind filled of lies, empty promises amidst an endless court of big lobbyist.
Anne and Mitt may be a little sad but I am sure they are okay, much better than we are.
I missed them so much and even now!
They were not needing us, it were us that were in need of them.
It was for us, the American people who lost our opportunity in 2012 election; we lost our chance to clean our home and improve our direction as a country, it was the moment to take the wheel and be in charge going into the pursuing of happiness, not with an ungrateful stubborn but with the hard working man with an extraordinary ability to lead, and manage to make grow wealthy across a free society. A dedicated man ready to give us the successful country he also loves.

Force the republicans to reform the election system to allow for multiple parties and get rid of the archaic “winner-take-all” electoral system

  I dont think there will be a next time…..I have read too many articles on China and the way the president ran to them first after the election, seems to me that China wants in here really bad, but they want guns gone first….I watched college football with a whole lot of Hyundai commercials, they have taken over movie theaters and now sports and most people have no idea what China really owns……Pretty scary stuff but I guess we dug our own hole here with cheap labor…….I don’t really see a next time election…We will be a Chinese extension….But wouldn’t it be funny if they were testing us with Chinese restaurants and they are not happy with the typical over weight liberal mom yelling at the cashier cause her order be wrong….That is why I try to be kind to all people in the food industry…..Not likely to be another election from what I can tell.

  Brilllo, how true. Mitt was not only the best candidate, he was a good man. Sure he made mistakes but look how the media treated him and are doing the same thing to Rubio. Obama made loads of them but the media always remained silent in regards to them.
  I will be watching the interview because I actually miss them. Once I did my research on him, I liked him more than ever. It was such a loss as we are in such a mess. Extreme conservatism candidate will never have a chance of winning as most people are moderate. The democrat party is now extreme & the republican is slowly becoming the same way but on the right.

How can there be an informed decision when the people who are supposed to give you informed information is being bullied into only one view like this commie in chief has done to the press. Woodward had the guts to stand up and I hope the rest of the press stands behind him and tell the truth about this bully. Romney is a good businessman, would he have made a good president we will probably never know, but he did have love of country and is a morale man, not like the in the closet that we have now.

  By impacting the culture in a positive way that exposes the misinformation. And you know what? This requires lots of patience toward and acceptance of those who have honest disagreements.

He definitely wasn’t my first choice….or second or third and so on for the GOP nominee, but he would have been much better than President Obama. Kinda disappointing to listen to him talk again, it takes me out of denial that we have to deal with President Obama for another 4yrs. Romney seemed like a nice genuine guy, looking forward to watching the whole interview and seeing him at CPAC.

It wasn’t like a roller coaster, it was like the parachute jump. The primaries were like the part where you just sit there doing nothing and you get dragged to the top of the ride, and the general election was like the part where they let go of you and you drop slowly but steadily until you can’t fall any further.
