Terrifying Cross-Canyon Rope Swing — You’ll Either Wish You Were Riding or Be Glad You’re Only Watching

You might remember the viral “world’s largest rope swing” video that was released a year ago this month. Now the creators are at it again with the “world’s most insane rope swing” — emphasis this time on the word “insane.”

The behind-the-scenes video describes it as a “400-foot free fall pendulum rope swing between a slot canyon.”

Here’s a collection of screenshots to give you a taste of how it was put together, how terrifying/exciting it looks (based on some of the faces of participants) and the sights around the stunt:

The team won’t reveal exactly where they were but state it is the “tundra” and that when they woke up all the water bottles were frozen. The rigging, although it might look pretty simple in the video, is relatively complex and safe. It was set up by professionals at Slackline Media. The footage itself was put together by filmmaker Devin Graham.

In this video, Graham explains that based on the success of his previous rope swing video (it has more than 16 million views) he thought, why not make something even bigger? So far, this latest rope swing video, posted Feb. 26, has more than 600,000 views on YouTube.

So Beck can curse with A * * and F * * * on his Blaze headlines and stories but I can’t say a _ _ hole or dumb f _ _ _ in my comments. I have known Devin Graham for over 25 years and went to church with him until I got married and moved away. Our parents are good friends too. Nearly 7 years ago, he made my brother and sister in-law’s wedding video, and did a nice job, but we had no idea just what kind of work he’d be doing with his film making, or the kind of fame he would be getting! He is a great guy and it has been so exciting the past year to see the kind of success and fame that he’s received! He deserves it all, and will not be surprised if he becomes one of the best action film directors!!

I love reading comment sections on things like this. When it’s sucesfull, you see a lot of posts about looks like fun, or thats living. When it fails it’s all posts about next canidate for Darwin awards for example the 2 russians in the globe ball that went off a cliff and they died.

We know this family personally They all have done some things like this since I can remember. The Arch jump a year ago included the mom and little sister. Although we enjoy the videos, I pray for them hoping that no one gets hurt as I know it would be a devastating injury to all of them. Good going my friends…stay safe and learn your limits before you reach them.

DudeSkrewed! I’m guessing more like, beat up Toyota pickups, mountain bikes and kayaks!!! If they’re like we used to be, you worked your but off in some restaurant, or at a ski area, in order to afford toys, so you could hang out down in the canyon-lands! That’s ok though, after you get sick of living in a tent and eating Taco Bell, a real job and a Corvette ain’t such a bad deal!

  What, Goodstuff? Because Shay Butler (guy w/the beard and red jacket. aka Shaycarl/Shaytards on YouTube) is in the video and he’s Mormon? Because Devin Graham is Mormon? Really? I must have missed the part where they were cramming our religion down your throat.
  Shay is one of the top vloggers on YouTube. He mentions being LDS maybe twice a year…and he vlogs every, single day. You might want to reread the definition of ‘propaganda’.
