Black Pastor Exposes U.S. Gov’t History on Guns and Minorities

The Rev. Kenn Blanchard, a faith leader at Washington D.C.’s Historic Berean Baptist Church, is unabashedly supportive of gun rights. The African American preacher has repeatedly called for fewer firearms restrictions, stating that he believes laws have historically been used to restrict specific ethnic groups.

Blanchard, who wrote the book “Black Man With a Gun” and who hosts “The Urban Shooter Podcast,” admits that many in his congregation don’t agree with his views on firearms, but that hasn’t stopped him from being an outspoken advocate.

In an interview with NPR on Thursday, he explained why he’s in favor of more expansive gun rights and shared his background, which includes a past stint as a firearms trainer and an ongoing penchant for studying history.

As he’s examined past U.S. laws to crack down on gun violence, he said he’s noticed a troubling pattern — an intent to target specific ethnic groups.

“Gun laws have started in this country since 1640 — since we were colonies, and it’s always been against a group — it’s always been to control somebody,” he told NPR host Michel Martin. “It was the Chinese, it was the Native Americans, it was the Africans.”

He continued, noting that every 30 years a new gun control initiative is implemented.

“In 1925, it was against Italian immigrants — the Sullivan Law was to prevent them from having long-barreled or short-barreled guns,” he explained.

Rather than ignoring guns and pushing them out of society, Blanchard argues that Americans should be educating their children about firearms. The real problem that’s raging in society, the preacher believes, is a “loss of hope.”

As far as his congregation goes, Blanchard’s views on guns are less-than-heralded.

“They actually don’t like it,” he said of parishioners when asked about how they react to his stance. “They don’t like it at all. It’s probably the only issue — as long as I preach the gospel…and stay away from the gun issue they’re fine.”

Earlier this month, the preacher joined other African American leaders in a push against gun control. According to CBN News, Blanchard told reporters that politicians cannot save children’s lives with legislative action and that self-defense and preparedness are the best way forward.

“How many of you would put in front of your house a sign that says gun-free zone?” he asked, highlighting his belief that gun-free zones are ineffective and aren’t a viable answer for securing safety.

And now it is the poor and the middle class. Gun prices are rising and so is ammunition and if that isn’t bad enough for those on limited budgets, states are passing expensive requirements of gun safety classes, required gun locks/safes/or storage requirements, registration fees, and sometimes reoccurring registration fees. The newest tactic-mandatory liability insurance for gun ownership. Soon many people will be priced out of the ability to self protect, just as they have the ability to self insure, self retirement account, or any other form of self empowerment. They want you as a slave. They want you helpless and beholden to the government. The resemblance to America is fading.

  This was effectively done July 28, 1868 — READ the 14th article of amendment — follow the ‘progress’ forward, and you can see that the SCOTUS and lower courts HOLD that the 14th ‘did nothing other than CREATE a separate CLASS of citizenship’ — all-inclusive, yet ‘voluntary’ – subordinate to that class of citizenship prior to its enactment by the CORPORATION as part of ‘reconstruction.’ This was not LINCOLN’s plan — rather the REPUBLICAN plan as implemented with the ‘advice and consent’ of the Mother Corporation — ENGLAND. Historical FACTS are brutal…. :-) Do yer OWN due diligence and connect the dots…. Early gun control lead to one of the largest massacres in American history:
WOUNDED KNEE MASSACRE
On the morning of December 29, 1890; a detachment of the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment went to disarm the Lakota. One version of events claims that during the process of disarming the Lakota, a deaf tribesman named Black Coyote was reluctant to give up his rifle, claiming he had paid a lot for it. A scuffle over Black Coyote’s rifle escalated and a shot was fired which resulted in the 7th Cavalry’s opening fire indiscriminately from all sides, killing men, women, and children, as well as some of their own fellow troopers. Those few Lakota warriors who still had weapons began shooting back at the attacking troopers, who quickly suppressed the Lakota fire. The surviving Lakota fled, but U.S. cavalrymen pursued and killed many who were unarmed. By the time it was over, at least 150 men, women, and children of the Lakota Sioux had been killed and 51 wounded (4 men, 47 women and children, some of whom died later); some estimates placed the number of dead at 300. At least twenty troopers were awarded the coveted Medal of Honor

  I don’t see what the problem is Homey, 50% of black men between the age of 18-30 have felony convictions yet continue to kill each other and other races along with it. They rape, rob, beat every one else and each other, make cesspools of our schools so that others can’t get an education worth having and are generally bereft of any type of human sympathy except for each other. Blacks are the second most hostile and the most racist people on the planet by far. 6-7 black babies are born out of wedlock and the culture breeds generational welfare and ignorance on a global scale. Literally everytime a store is robbed, someone is killed it’s a black face behind it. Blacks, despite making up only 15% of the population, some say 17% occupy 68% of our prisons, not because they are victims but because they don’t know how to behave. They have no social skills and have lost all skills of dealing with groups other than their own without using race as a factor for the racial demise. HIV is going down all over the world except among ” black homosexual males.” The freak in the clinic says “I don’t care, gubment give me my meds and I won’t die.” It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat and HIV positive person over 2 decades and blacks don’t pay for it, everyone else does by higher taxes that serve and entitlement driven black populace. The biggest mistake America ever made was accepting the first black person several hundred years ago.

They don’t like it because they’ve been programed by sugar daddy government that they don’t have a right to own a firearm but they do have a ‘right’ to ‘free’ housing a car,food and health care. I know that everybody thinks that we in the South are a racist bunch of idiots but to the contrary it is so refreshing to see a man of any color standing up for his beliefs. If more people would just use common sense and stand up like he has, we might have a start at cleaning up the mess that we have allowed the liberal to get us into. Thank you Pastor for not going into a screaming rant and just stating your beliefs as well as the majority of America if the truth be known. Thanks, a southern white American

It was only just a matter of time before this topic came up. I am surprised that groups like the Panthers haven’t been protesting gun control laws.

Coming next: Can’t have registration, or background checks, because it unfairly disenfranchises minorities and old people. (Think voter ID)

  Logic would seem to indicate that – which is why it won’t happen – logic to a leftist is like a cross to a vampire
  
  but I like where you are going – since registering or qualifying to legally purchase a gun requires a valid gov’t issued ID and since the left says that minorities can’t get a gov’t id to vote those same folks couldn’t purchase a weapon so gun registration is a racist plot aimed at dienfranchising minorities

  Virtually, the whole black population has been conned by the Anti-Christian J*wish Communists, like Feinstein. They will live to regret it. The gov. is now broke and surviving on fumes. Where will their handouts come from when the gov. taps out? I don’t think their rich J*w ‘overseers’ will donate much of their own savings. Honest blacks will need all the guns they can get, to survive the onslaught.

This Rev is right! In fact, I think Chicagos strict gun control laws are racist. I believe that there is an element of the left that thinks minorities are too stupid to own and operate a firearm. It’s the same element that warehouses them in projects because they are too stupid to hold down a job. It’s the same element that pushes for school breakfast lunch and dinner because their parents are too stupid to feed their kiddos. It’s the same element that has kept generations dependent on the government.
