‘We Will Not Comply!’: NRA Holds Massive Rally in NY to Protest State’s Restrictive Gun Laws
The National Rifle Association on Thursday held a massive rally in Albany, N.Y. to protest the Empire State’s restrictive gun laws signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in January. The state’s massive gun control package gave New York the strictest gun laws in the United States.
NRA President David Keene fired up thousands of supporters outside the state Capitol, saying “we’ve lose battles before, we’ll not lose this war.”
“We’ll help you defeat the politicians depriving you of your rights,” Keene said. “We’ll do whatever is necessary. We will not allow those freedoms to be taken from us.”

David Keene, president of the National Rifle Association, speaks during a gun rights rally at the Capitol on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Albany, N.Y. The group rallied against the recently legislated NY SAFE Act and other measures, they say infringe on their constitutional right to bear arms. NRA membership has seen a steady increase as lawmakers continue to debate future gun control legislation. Keene said the NRA now has close to 5 million members.
Keene also reminded New Yorkers that big and small businesses could be impacted by new gun laws, using a green Remington Arms union T-shirt to make his point, The Business Review’s Adam Sichko reports.
Sichko, who was at the event, has some more details:
Dozens of buses brought protestors from all corners of the state. Organizers kept referring to a crowd of 10,000, though that appeared to be an overestimate.
Many in the crowd raised American flags or yellow “Don’t Treat on Me” flags. A number of signs compared Cuomo to Hitler and invoked communism. Others had messages such as: “If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words” or “I’m a mom and grandmother here to protect and defend their future.”
One sign was especially pertinent: “Founded in 1816: Remington stays. Cuomo goes!”
Police estimated the crowd size at 5,000 at around 1 p.m. Thursday, Times Union reports.
The crowd could be heard chanting, “We will not comply!” at one point and later “Cuomo’s gotta go!”
Watch some raw video taken at the rally:
In addition to outlawing semi-automatic rifles, or so-called “assault weapons,” New York’s new gun laws ban a broader array of military-style weapons and also restricts ammunition magazines to seven rounds, down from the current 10. The law also creates a more comprehensive database of people barred from owning guns, and makes New York the first state to require background checks to buy bullets.
But that just is more of a reason for the NRA to keep fighting for America’s gun rights, Keene explained.
“Our strength comes from the fact that that broader community of Second Amendment believers in this country is not simply made of Republicans or conservative or Democrats or liberals or factory owners. It’s made up of all Americans: farmers, union workers and all the rest, police officers and veterans,” he told supporters.

I assume the next step in the holding the line in this armed confrontation would be to open fire the moment LEO’s made any attempt to arrest and/or disarm the crowd.
Remember there is no middle ground when armed opponents are in confrontation. Using the deadly force is the only choice except for disarming or retreat.

When the President Wilson signs this bill, the invisible government of the monetary power will be legalized….the worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill. From now on, depressions will be scientifically created.”
– Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr., 1913
“When the Federal Reserve Act was passed, the people of these United States did not perceive that a world banking system was being set up here. A super-state controlled by international bankers and international industrialists acting together to enslave the world for their own pleasure. You’re wrong you need only stop the arrest and remind the police their duty is to the Constitution NOT the law makers. If police draw their guns then an armed confrontation could ensue. And if police feel their duty is to law makers and not the Constitution maybe armed conflict would be the best results. This communist push and over reaching governmental power has to be stopped at some point. Those pulling the strings will need a message sent to them that America will not stand for this. That a short life of freedom is better than a long one of slavery.

DHS bought 1.6 Billion rounds of hollow points.
WHY ???
Because the long term goal of the Politicians (Bankster minions), are to SEIZE ALL GUNS eventually !!!!
This is why they have prepared !!!!
These assault weapons bans and magazine regulations in the works, are a test.
If the American people allow these unconstitutional laws to be passed, they surely will
NOT stand up to a complete ban.
We already allowed them to SEIZE our 4th Amendment rights, because 19 Saudia Arabians attacked us.

Maybe you could move to his country and take this admin.with you. Cuomo is unconscionable. What he did was unconstitutional and he knows it, but it fits right in with our progressive POTUS. One truth I have come to unfortunately realize is that progressives don’t care about individual God given rights of people. If you don’t fit into their plan you are baggage and you will be eliminated. If the US Constitution gets in the way, it will be ignored. The ends always justify the means with the progressive movement and that’s why the 2nd amendment is being attacked, that’s why freedom of religion is being attacked, that’s why freedom of speech has been restricted to “free speech zones” that are no where near the area you want your voice to be heard, that’s why the government can now kill an american if they “think you are a threat”, or lock you up outside this country without a charge for as long as they want, or search your house without a search warrant if they “think” they have a good reason. I could go on and on but why waste my time with someone who is oblivious to discerning the truth. God help you.

And yet, murder rates are higher in the most restricted of gun states (and overseas for that matter) gun control fails, and the NRA are the only ones protecting our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to keep and bear arms, something you clearly know jack about (then again, it’s not like our government run schools actually teach the constitution anymore, it’s always better to keep the masses ignorant and stupid, makes controlling them easier.. which the left has been doing a handsome job for the past twenty or so years… glad my father and mother saw through that crud)

It is interesting to actually see one of your comments before they are flagged as inappropriate and removed, and it’s pretty obvious why any rational person would refute you. Their counter-arguments remain long after your inflammatory and irrelevant prattle is removed.
I would challenge you to explain how any of Cuomo or Bloomberg’s gun control measures actually protect a single child’s life, but I know that you would not respond, and if you did that your response would be just as irrelevant, irrational and inflammatory, in additional to being riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes.
Your religious allusions betray your dogmatic adherence to an irrational belief, so there can clearly be no reasonable discussion between any normal person and your anti-gun dogma.

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 10:43pmEncinom, yet again, the crap flows freely from your mouth. Do you even understand that criminals do not care about laws and will get and use any kind of weapon they can get a hold of? Normal citizens, do not and will not ever go out on a rampage shooting innocent children or citizens, in fact normal citizens will stand up and protect those in harms way. You had better hope that when all heck breaks loose, there will be someone there to protect your sorry arse and your family, because it certainly won’t be you protecting them.
Fact; Guns don’t kill people, people who pull the trigger do.

Posted on March 1, 2013 at 12:04amGovernor Cuomo, like Mayor Bloomberg, has delusions of one day running for the presidency. Is there something in the water in New York that makes politicians there both leftist-liberal AND delusional? Most of the rest of the nation watches the behavior and read the pronouncements of these bozos and laugh sadly and shake their heads. There is no way that either of them will ever get any votes—other than possibly from inner city ghettos—from citizens in most of the rest of the country.

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 9:25pmYou, sir, are an idiot. I’m a cop, a Second Amendment rights advocate, certified civilian concealed handgun instructor, and I’ve been politically active in my state in support of armed educators’ legislation. You have made a statement that shows your utter ignorance. You are no better than the very people you are opposing. Liberals believe that all gun-owners are evil, and you believe that all cops are anti-gun. You and they are the same. One of these days, you will need a cop, and I pray that when it matters most, they’ll be there for you, and you’ll be forced to eat your words and admit your own stupidity.

Posted on March 1, 2013 at 8:55amI was there, and I am telling you people have had enough. New York State is not just
New York City. To all the patriots in attendance good show, far better than the first rally
in January. The lies spewing from Coumo 70% want gun control, are just that ..lies.
Over half of the counties in New York State have approved resolutions to repeal the
safe act, with more on the way, that certainly shows that Coumo is lying.
He needs to go.
Most of our sheriffs are on the people’s side, and are fighting along side with us.
They will uphold the 2nd amendment.
JBOURNEIDENTITY thank you for your public service.
I personally want to thank you for being a patriot, and for fighting this battle with
us. I can see from your comments that you are in the trenches with us, not just
spouting off on the boards, and again I say Thank You.

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 8:35pmI was there. It was a great rally and there were several thousand protesters even though it was a work day and many people traveled several hours to get to Albany. We stood in the rain and the cold to send a message to Gov Cuomo and those in the legislature who passed this bill in the dark of night.

If I remember correctly they reported our first tea party rally in Albany as “hundreds” when it was obviously well over 1000 people.
