The NRA Is Unveiling a New Pro-Gun Contributor — and You Might Be a Little Surprised

The media is going to have a hard time stereotyping the National Rifle Association (NRA) after the organization just announced its latest contributor to NRA News. TheBlaze was tipped off to the announcement and introduction of the man who calls himself an “urban gun enthusiast,” Colion Noir.

Noir — a young, enthusiastic gun supporter that wears baseball hats and t-shirts — has somewhat of a cult following on social media. His Facebook page, which has over 25,000 likes, is riddled with fans and comments and he has 174 videos on YouTube where he breaks down the latest gun arguments in simple-to-understand terms, reviews gun-related equipment, and even shows off at the range.

“Just A normal guys perspective of concealed carry, guns, 2nd Amendment and the Law,” his profile says. And on Friday morning, he’ll officially be taking that perspective to NRA News. TheBlaze obtained the video announcement that introduced Noir late Friday morning to an even larger section of the gun community:

But that’s just a taste.

“Really, dude — ballpoint pens?”

That’s how one of his latest YouTube videos starts off, a reference to the uproar in Colorado after a state legislator suggested all someone needs to defend themselves is something as simple as a pen, not a gun:

And he has others, including “Why Are Black ‘Leaders’ Anti-gun?,” What’s an ASSAULT RIFLE for DUMMIES,” and “How to Stop MASS SHOOTINGS.”

A source close to the NRA tells TheBlaze that the video announcement is a teaser for series of longer videos in which Noir will tackle all things guns using his unique style. He’s also the first in a series of diverse commentators that will be making their voices heard on NRANews.com.

Been following “Mr. Colion Noir” on YouTube for the last few months… He knows his stuff and will make an excellent spokesman. He can make his point in 2 minutes and be completely understood without using the standard progun arguments.

  I think “Sturmgewehre”, the guy who does the Military Arms Channel on YouTube is a little more articulate and level-headed, but I have to admit that Colion Noir does a great job of injecting a little humor into his points– I’ve cracked-up several times watching his channel.

  I’d like to take all our anti-gun politicians and TV news commentators…what’s his name ?   I started listening to the video, but had to stop and listen again before I could convince myself I actually did understand what the guy said.
  
  Listen to it. He says, “No one wants to fight for their protection, they want the government to do it… the same government who wouldn’t allow us to eat at their restaurants.”
  
  This guy is saying that the restaurants who wouldn’t serve blacks were government restaurants? There are government restaurants? In any case the guy is reinventing history. Those restaurants that wouldn’t serve blacks? Those were privately owned restaurants. The “bumbling fools with white sheets are their heads burning crosses?” Nope, not the government either. They were private, white citizens. Who does this guy think he’s talking to? Not to blacks who know US history, that much is certain.
  
  Actually, it was “the government” that desegregated restaurants and schools.

Hence, those who practiced said discrimination had the tacit approval of the government. The government, you know, the same entity which successfully abolished discrimination by privately owned businesses which routinely serve the PUBLIC, that same government stood by for decades and ALLOWED that discrimination to be PRACTICED, thereby granting TACIT approval (if you don’t understand the word tacit, look it up, that way you will remember it) Yes the government was responsible as they would be if those discriminatory practices were happening today and they were to do NOTHING to stop it.   Kinda wondering about something, The article says we would be surprised, Why would we be surprised? Kinda implies not only the liberals would be suprised but the conservatives as well. I’ve been an NRA member for years and I am glad to see the NRA finally showing the diversity among our ranks. I am an American of Hispanic descent, I know other Hispanic descent gun owners that think the NRA is a White American organization. The NRA isn’t about protecting the rights of just white, black or brown Americans, it’s about protecting the rights of all Americans. Maybe now they’ll see a difference in our proud organization and join the fight to protect their Constitutional rights.
  
  To SendintheMetoer girl: I think he was speaking metaphorically, You see there are different levels of government, i.e. state, county, parish, district etc, Not just Federal as you seem to believe. The Jim Crow laws were enacted by state and local governments and upheld by both state and federal courts. The Supreme Court even stated separate but equal was Constitutional. Seems most heard the separate but disregarded the equal part. Guess who the cowards dressed in sheets were? At one time Klan membership included all white American demographics including law enforcement, politicians and judges at all levels of government.   Never had a chance to watch his videos. But Wayne has a good sense of character and I am sure the guy knows what he is doing. There was a black ex military man at the range one day when I went, all business with a .308 Surgeon, I think that is what he called it…..Very bright man and knew his stuff.
  
  I hope these guys carry on the importance of the NRA, I try to impress the importance of the NRA over the purchase of a million bullets to my friends. To me you really can only use so many in a bad type of situation, and then the martial law will kick in, it is more important for me to donate(the state closed down a local outdoor range, but said they would keep in open, nope its closed)……I have enough rounds, for now…….

There are plenty of us responsible gun owners, and enthusiasts, who happen to be black. We just don’t usually get any press as we are despised by the left as we are independent of mind and spirit. We believe in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness not in the government’s domination of ever aspect of our lives. In fact, it is 2013. Who cares about color? I care if you contribute to society or if you are a leech. If you contribute, I respect you. If you are a leech, I pity you. May God Bless America, even our misguided President.

  Exactly right. My family has been screaming at the GOP to give more air time and press to conservative dark skin Americans. There are many of us. Liberals are taking advantage of the dumbing-down of our American History. How many black Americans know that Fredrick Douglas had a tremendous influence on Abraham Lincoln? Or that blacks were on the boat when Washington crossed the Delaware? The 2nd amendment is about protection from a tyrannical government and the lawbreakers who would do us harm.

  Not exactly shure how to say this….but this guy and his presentation cut thru my kids ivy league & SUNY arrogance and got their attention. I couldn’t care less what his back ground is, I am eternally gratefull to MrColinNoir for putting a dent in the well educated and rehersed approach my kids have take to this entire political event of the last 5 years. The Daily Caller reported that Leo Hindery Jr (Intermedia Outdoor Holdings) an Obama donor is in process of buying up and ‘destroying’ America’s top pro-gun media outlets such as Guns & Ammo and 16 other pro-gun magazine, in addition, owns The Sportsman Channel… And now is in the process of buying The Outdoor Channel.

The Blaze should pick up this programing and add to it’s line up!!!!

  I looked at the site you posted and got all excited to hear what they had to say in defense of the 2nd ammendment and consitution over all. During the Q&A I felt bad no one mentioned the elephant in room, why does the black comunity keep voting their “owners” back into office? Glen really needs to grab this and run. God Bless you my friend. Its not black and white. It is about good and bad people and the bad people want to control you, but know that they can’t when you are armed. It is the one single issue that they will never be able to solve. They have no clue what kind of bear they are jabbing with a stick. No clue and when this bear has had enough, they will lose a limb.

Wow. That was excellent. If it can change just one person’s mind ……………. it won’t be enough. Seriously I hope this can be aired everywhere. I am hearing pro gun ads on the radio in Colorado today. Perhaps it will wake some of our citizens from their ‘just working to make it” existence and get on the phone or email, or better yet, show up at the senate hearings Monday, and get involved. Most of the folks out here have no idea that our liberties are being gutted by factually ignorant, political drones. That’s why the house hearings were announced only days before they were held and ditto for the senate hearings Monday, March 4th.

I’m not surprised at all – Noir is a well known gun enthusiast. Does ‘The Blaze’ think we should be “surprised” because Noir is black? Really?

I have been to dozens of gun shows and NRA events and I belong to a large local gun club – I have met a lot of black men (and a few black women) who are gun owners, gun enthusiasts and fellow NRA members.

the NRA was smart to sign Colion Noir up – he will be a great spokesperson.

We all need to start writing our local newspapers and calling local news stations. Savvy up and put an END to “Manufactured Crisis”. IF enough pressure is applied they will have to confess the unconstitutionality of it ALL. The Real Crisis is going to come if the Feds get any more power whatsoever.

  If the true intend of some of those in Government is to manufacture a civil war….Then it needs to happen and get these people out of the way. If we supressed with political power now then they are still there to plot their next action. We need to radify the Constitution for immediate removal of any politician that breaks their oath or fail to up hold their dutys as a representative. The democRATs in the Senate have not passed a budget in almost 5 years. 5 year 5 phucking years!

  I though it was because he is “urban”. The media would like us to think only those who live in the sticks believe in guns rights because when they shoot wildly there is nobody to get shot.
