On Monday TheBlaze launched a Twitter campaign with the hashtag #IWantTheBlazeBecause, asking members of the audience to fill in the blank with a message to their cable providers.

TheBlaze TV is currently only available online or through Dish Network, but the goal is that it be picked up by a wider variety of distributors.

In this particular social media push, Twitter users were invited to attach photos (work and schedule permitting) with the reason they want TheBlaze.

Here are some of the top responses to the hashtag, which has been trending on and off on Twitter:

The marketing company overseeing the “Get TheBlaze” push said last week that the response has been “the largest we’ve seen for a network in ten years.”

In the two days after the campaign launched, TheBlaze audience put in 105,565 minutes — or the equivalent of 491 Oscar telecasts — on the phone with their cable distributors. In the same time period, TheBlaze received more than 200,000 inquiries via email, a telephone hotline, and its GetTheBlaze.com web site.

I requested the Blaze on DirecTV for the second time on March 1st. The first request was met with a ‘pre-written’ response and 2 free months the Game Channel.
The second response, after using the suggested letter from the Blaze, and an added note NOT to send me free Game Channel access, I was actually sent a reply from a DirecTV CSR, Mary Ann D.
Response:
“Thank you for writing. I understand that you are interested to get the Blaze TV.
While we do not currently have plans in offering Blaze TV channel, please be assured that your voice is being heard. Our goal is to provide a wide variety of programming so I forwarded your request to our management for review. Most of the changes we make are a direct result of the comments and suggestions we receive from our customers.
Whenever we add channels to our lineup, we release a statement to the press, so keep an eye on the news to find out about the newest channels or visit our web site at http://investor.directv.com/releases.cfm.
Again, thank you for writing and for being our loyal customer, (ME).”
I went to the ‘investor’ web site, but nothing yet regarding about The Blaze. I’ve been a long time subscriber to DirecTV, but I have been debating switching to Dish TV (after contract is up) since they began offering The Blaze, and also begun to offer some interesting new innovations to the whole home viewing without the major re-wiring of my house.

To all of the Glen Beck haters, I don’t think I’ve ever heard him make a prediction that didn’t come true. Gold? Check. Arab Spring, Muslim Brotherhood? Check. Domestic Drones? Check. Benghazi Gun running? Check. Obamacare? Check. Irrelevant Congress? Check. Largest Gun sales ever? Check. European countries economic collapse? Check.

The trick to Beck is simple: He reports on what people actually say and do. Its not rocket science. He adds opinion but he is most likely the only honest reporter in the country. He holds people to what they say, he doesn’t look the other way like the rest of the LSM.

Beck is one of the great charlatans of our time. He targeted an audience of less than average intelligence, who have common hatreds and biases. They have skewed ideas of what American greatness is, but call themselves “patriots” and like to “support the troops”. Although their actions are unpatriotic and their belief in constant wars is counteractive to supporting the troops; they need a leader and Beck fill those shoes. His personal worth is about 50 million and all of it from conning the poorest people out of their hard earned money that they cannot spare. He uses and encourages fear, paranoia and radicalism to entice the slow witted. More talk about the caliphate, the fictional war on christians and xmas, and the evil government. Buy gold at any price, Beck encourages, no matter how much someone is getting ripped off. The godless gays and humanists will ruin the country and remove god permanently as Beck falsely claims. Fox news tossed him out for being too much of a rabble rouser, but yet his followers are loyal and keep making him richer as they get poorer.

  I believe you meant “one of the characters” of our time. I’m finding his preditions to be spot on and I like his explanations for the shenanigans going on in our government. He has opened my eyes and has allowed me to compare his media vs. the main stream media. It’s interesting comparing them. I can make up my own mind about what’s going on. And I know of no one of “below average intelligence” who is a fan of Beck. Most of the “below averge intelligence” people are the ones who are also called “uninformed voters” and sent Barry back to the White House to continue destroying our country.   Does Glenn Beck, AND HIS STAFF OF RESEARCHERS, get under your skin that much?
  My recommendation is that you stick with Al Jazeera news and MSNBC; they seem to be more of your style. And they all make minimum wage….HA! Along with Jeremiah Wright, and Louis Farrakhan!
  As for me, along with news from Glenn’s website, I peruse online newspapers from around the world, (and do a lot of virus scanning as well) and I find that people such as Glenn, Michelle Malkin, Charles Krauthammer, and the Breitbart are all saying the same thing.
  Glenn is not a charlatan, and if you have watched any of his shows, you would see that what he says has an amazing accuracy rate. He and his staff work very hard to educate us, just like the Cato Institute is here to do.

I am a libertarian who relates to Penn Jillette more then anyone in the media.
But
I have great admiration for Mr Beck.
Look what this dude has built!!! What a great site, and now i find myself checking into the Blaze before i go to drudge.
His dreamworks is fantastic!!!
I watch most of his show everyday.
I don’t think i would be friends with Beck, but i sure do admire that guy.
A great man. A great American. And a great biz man.
I consider myself to be a friendly atheist, and when a Christian says God bless you to me i always say God bless you back. I want everyone after meeting me to feel good and nice and ok. Even though i do not feel that the bible was divinely inspired, or that Jesus was anything more then a man, i would like to say, God bless you Glenn Beck.

  If Glenn can be friends with Penn Gillette, why would you think you could not be friends with Glenn? As long as you are civil and will exchange ideas even if you disagree in the end, hell I could be friends with you. I think Glenn could too. Having said that, the hardest thing would be to get in Glenn’s circle of friends to begin with.
  
  Although, I would hope one day you could see what Christians see and why we have FAITH in God and his son, Jesus, I will not chastise you for your beliefs. I would rather bring up things for you to think about or an alternate way to view things, of course, through mutual conversation.

I would Rather that all of us Solid People, Who believe in the Bill Of Rights and The Constitution, be brought Together for the Storm that seems inevitable. It’s never more then times like this that I realize how we have come to this point, in having No Trust in Anyone. I always thought I was smarter then my Wife. My Wife was Far Ahead of me. Her Rules. Privacy, Neighbors as far away as possible, No getting to know the Neighbors, All Folks from our Past who we were forced to be around. Because we lived by them or they were family, are not allowed to know where we live. If they do. They are Not Welcome. Years ago you would be called Anti-Social. Today, your a Smart Person. Face It. You Can’t Trust About ANYBODY. So Sad. Yet. So True.

I want the blaze because there are enough liberal shows already and I *thought* I lived in a country that provided the FREEDOM to choose. If they restrict my choices, they restrict my freedom.
Mainstream media has become “entertainment tonight” -completely biased, always pushing an agenda or strictly for hollywood star gazers.

I currently get news reports from other countries and it was ONLY through a GERMAN news source that I found out that two Coptic Christians were beheaded and dismembered only about 30 miles from me! The title read something like, “Muslim beheadings of Christians NOW in USA”. I thought, yeah right…probably an attention grabber to some “honor” killing of 3 yrs ago. Imagine my horror when I found that it had happened 3 *days* earlier and only about 30 miles away in a neighboring state!
AND there was no local or MSM reporting. A few had minimal coverage, but claimed they didn’t know the reason for the killings. The German report stated something like “Apparently the American media are the only ones who can’t figure out the reason behind these types of ritualistic infidel type killings.” (Meaning that the fact they were beheaded with hands/feet cut off is the way infidels are dealt with.)
It’s really scary to think our media is THIS controlled.

  I don’t twitter. I sent mine by e-mail and by vocal communication with my provider. Amazingly enough, the customer rep. I spoke to at two different levels both said they had answered hundreds of requests. I hope they listen!!!!

Somehow I think that using Will Cain, or E. Cupp, and I want The Blaze, are mutually exclusive. We have enough liberal commentators on media outlets. We don’t need them on so called “truth” outlets, with their arrogance, spewing liberal opinions.

I want the Blaze because all other news (excluding Hannity), are bogus, irrelevant, out of touch, and government controlled. Now, some of the lap dogs for the guy in the white house, are crying foul!! When will they learn special treatment has consequences. All media should band together by the 1st amendment no matter the venue! Media exists to keep the Government in line not lap up their spit! The Daily Caller reported that Leo Hindery Jr (Intermedia Outdoor Holdings) an Obama donor is in process of buying up and ‘destroying’ America’s top pro-gun media outlets such as Guns & Ammo and 16 other pro-gun magazine, in addition, owns The Sportsman Channel… And now is in the process of buying The Outdoor Channel.

The Blaze should pick up this programing and add to it’s line up!!!!
Glenn Should Team up with the NRA, NRA news!!!
