Drone Strikes on U.S. Soil? Glenn Beck Weighs In
While it may seem a work of fiction, or the plot of a conspiracy-theory-centered movie, Tuesday morning, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) revealed on Glenn Beck’s radio program that he had troubling information about the U.S. drone program and whether or not the president could order a strike against an American on U.S. soil.
TheBlaze obtained letters that were sent to the senator by Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama’s chief counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan, with several paragraphs raising an alarm.
“The question you have posed is therefore entirely hypothetical, unlikely to occur, and one we hope no President will ever have to confront,” the letter states. “It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States.”
“Were such an emergency to arise, I would examine the particular facts and circumstances before advising the President on the scope of his authority,” he added.
Needless, to say Holder’s response is unsettling to many Americans to say the least and Glenn Beck is no exception. He took time out on Tuesday evening to discuss this breaking news:
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on March 6, 2013 at 2:20pmThis is why the 2nd Amendment says “ARMS” not guns. The framers of the constitution wanted us to be able to counter ANY and ALL threats from the government. We need to be able to have anti-aircraft missiles (ARMS), anti-tank rockets (ARMS), and armored vvehicles. This may sound extreme but what is an AR-15 and a handgun going to do against a DHS tactical team rounding up your family?

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 12:17pmThe imperial presidency has taken upon itself the RIGHT to blow your ass up AT WILL. The subsequent explosion can be addressed as a “faulty gas line”. There was a still unexplained explosion in Ohio that killed a couple with a considerable amount of collateral damage. This was explained away as that “gas line explosion”.
Now, what’s really chilling is that it may not be a drone strike. What about a “perfectly legal” assassination with a .32 caliber headshot on the street? Certainly, it would be less noticeable than a drone strike and could be attributed to a drug deal gone bad.
An executive order that supersedes the 1st, 2nd 4th, and 5th amendments of the constitution? Let’s see how the left, including the ACLU and the Southern Antipoverty Law Center spins this one. THIS is really frightening.

The government has drones. So what. Any weapon devised by a human can be defeated by a human.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 9:19amThe National Guard vs. Drones: When the government sends the National Guard to quell civil unrest, it is being sent to keep the peace. There is no intent to kill and there is due process. Rioters get to face their accusers and if all is done legally, they are given a choice to stop what they are doing or face consequences. On the other hand, drone strikes are just “hits.” No one gets a chance to stop what they’re doing. No one gets a chance to lay on the ground and put their hands behind their backs. No one gets a chance to present their case before a jury. It’s just “pop, you’re dead.” It’s using the tactics of war against your own people and that should never be made legal.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 10:18amGood summary. Exactly right.
So O’s kill list can now be used from the air, pool side, bedroom.. sort of like the poor guy in Fla who falls from his bed into a death chamber, but this one may come from above.. not a death by nature.. a death from your King.

Yes. Imagine being in your backyard, looking up at the sky, and seeing a drone–and cringing in fear because, although you’ve broken no laws, you may somehow have done something to offend The King.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 1:05pmUse of drones reduces the destruction and “kills” to just another video game! That has always been the criticism from the opposition to the use of drones…they were always right and we knew it! Dehumanize the targets as fellow human beings, and desensitize the operators as just playing another video game..problem solved; when the need arises to eliminate whatever problems fellow Americans are causing! Due process is just another one of those archaic concepts contained in that old obsolete Constitution!!

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 10:00amFound it interesting this morning at 10:40am ET that our radio station decided to begin their annual test of the broadcast system just as Glenn was beginning to tell us about the drone story. The announcer stated that this test will conclude at 10:30am ET…begs the question if perhaps the “annual test” was held until Glenn began talking about the drone story.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 8:32amOne can’t help but think that the current war on “military” style rifles goes hand in hand with the potential Drone activity of the future….It is a (poor) view of our current Administration and what it believes their position is in relationship to its people.
I really have to wonder just what else the President has up his sleeve that we are not being advised of.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 8:06amSomething that is not being discussed, if the American people revolt, these drones can be used against us and we have little defense against them. The way this administration is going, a revolution is a possibility.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 11:19amI believe their counting on it. Why else would they be stockpiling billions of rounds of ammunition, thousands of assault weapons and buying up assault vehicles? They know they are hell bent on creating an economic collapse and when that happens and the “takers” stop getting their cell phones and monthly benefits, there will be a revolution. They see it coming and are prepping for the certainty of it.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 7:45amI hope that an electronics genius can develop a RF jammer to bring these drones down if necessary.
Drones being used to kill Americans on American soil is a declaration of war if ever there was one. Eric Holder really scares me. Why does any real America loving citizen think that Holder won’t ever use this weapon against us? Isn’t the voiding of the 2nd Amendment an important part of all this? If we are are able to vote in 2014, I will be suprised.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 6:45amWho would advise the President on whether or not the justice system was needed? That’s how we protect civil rights in America in the year 2013?
I am not going to waste my time wording these objections with flowery language? This is the kind of thinking that inspires crime, instead of prevent it? Look around the world, behold all the governments and what it is like to live in places where the justice system resides in opinion, rather than the will of the People?
You see the People represents a group of individuals who fear God, teach their children right from wrong, and explain to them what it means to be a good guy with a gun, and that really bothers some people? People should be inspired to demonstrate that the justice system of the United States, is a system to uphold and defend as a model of tempered opinions, determination and patience, and not the fickle winds of current events?

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 6:22amThe article says that Sen. Paul said this on Glenns radio program on Tuesday morning. I was listening to The Blaze from 8 am to 2pm central time, never heard Sen. Paul. I finally did hear him on Hannity at 3 pm central time. What time was Sen. Paul on The Blaze? I have to apologize to some people who told me Sen. Paul was on the blaze, and I told them no he was never on, I was listening most of the day and never heard him. I did hear Glenn say that Sen. Paul was talking off air to his radio team, but never heard him come on the show.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 12:27amWhy would a drone strike worry more than an F-18 Hornet that someone could have done for years if they wanted to.
We live in a age of lawyers and this does not fit with them also wanting to give Miranda rights to the people on the battle field and wage war as a criminal action.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 4:50amBecause you have deniability with a drone strike, no one sees it and when a house or a car explodes they can deny deny deny. With an F18 flying over it is obvious. Obama also knows that he couldn’t in any way shape or form get the military to do bombing runs on our own country. No one has had the ability to kill american citizens without due process until Obama signed his executive order, so I don’t quite understand where you get the notion that any president could have sent out an F18 against American citizens without due process.

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 7:23amObama signs executive orders for the drone strikes and they are carried out by the military, exactly the same for conventional military action – the only difference is the means. You don’t have any more deniability with a drone strike either. There’s still a ‘pilot’ somewhere, in some military bunker. He may be sworn to secrecy, but so could a F18 pilot.
