Ive Lost Faith In Govt, Media, Justice System: Beck Reflects on Collectivism in America

(TheBlaze TV)

“Big government progressives” are trying to design a “perfect, little utopia,” according to Glenn Beck, who took time out during his Tuesday evening broadcast to blast certain lawmakers for seeking to enact far-reaching laws that will encroach on Americans’ freedoms.

Beck addressed sweeping gun control laws being debated in Colorado, which he called the “center of the gun control debate.”

Beck believes citizens are being robbed of their rights by big government seeking to push collectivism and that today’s school system and societal bend as a whole provides a breeding ground for indoctrination.

“America is hemorrhaging,” Beck said.

He also noted that he has lost faith in the government, media, justice system and just about every other institution in America. At the same time, Beck said that, in the spirit of George Washington, maybe “we’re not supposed to” have faith in any of those things.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

If you think that is the biggest threat to the nation, you are a true ideologist for socialism, communism, fascism, or totalitarianism. I have no idea WHY you are on these boards, you are convincing nobody of anything here because your views are so far out of reality that it’s laughable to anyone here.

The gap between the rich and poor doesn’t NOT grow as a factor capitalism, it grows as a factor of education, achievement and engagement. If you REALLY believed that the answer lays in leftist philosophies, then your research into Marx and others would’ve proven to you it would have been impossible to achieve equality without a brutal totalitarian government. All middle grounds (like Europe has) don’t work, you can’t have some kind of part socialist part capitalist system, they don’t work.

Capitalism is the solution, and getting everyone to achieve to their best level. The quality of life of the people in this nation has risen and risen and risen. This is PROOF that Capitalism works. It works so well that our ‘poor’ have a ‘rich’ quality of life as compared to the majority of the rest of the planet. Capitalism fails when chained by socialist/leftist ideas AND when unchained from ethics and morality.

That is where we are today and if you really wanted to close the gap, then work to get the poor educated, engaged and active. Work to get the rich to share their experience, their success, show HOW they made the American Dream work.

@batteredtaxpayer You do understand that public companies are funded by investors who are not necessarily rich and many small companies are started with loans given to individuals who are not rich. And so there is no confusion. The rich do not create jobs, they like investors merely invest in meeting demand. It is market demand that creates jobs and that is driven by the disposable income which resides in the middle class. If you have a drop in demand and thus a slowing of the economy it means that disposable income of the middle class has been reduced. The two major factors which have reduced relative demand in the US is the reduction in real wages since 1980s and the concentration of wealth since the 1980′s. If your assertion was even remotely true then the wealthy getting wealthier would translate into more jobs. Well they got significantly wealthier under Bush Jr. and he provided us with the worst economy since the 1930′s.

      JROOK-

You can’t use the generalizations you are applying in the way you are applying them. To generalize about economic indicators and then get specific on a certain type of investing creates a straw man argument that you then proceed to tear down. It’s a flawed method of looking at our system.

The wealthy do create jobs, not just by investing but by starting and running companies. Your example is really only applicable to the uber-rich, those that sit on the sidelines and just invest. The left’s beloved George Soros is a perfect example of this kind of ‘wealth’ and he is using them like disposable diapers to make even MORE money. Yes, there are many on the ‘right’ that do the same thing, but it’s not indicative of the generic ‘wealthy’ at all.

If you count ‘wealthy’ as those earning over 500K a year in income, then you are talking about the majority of small and mid size business owners and managers. If the ‘well off’ are the 100K to 500K crowd then you have a huge chunk of the white collar and upper blue collar working crowd.

The very wealthy actually weather economic downturns very well as they usually have the liquid assets and money managers to make sure their money is shifted properly for their benefit.

The middle class actually suffers the most as they invest poorly and are the most marginal for extendable income. The poor don’t get much poorer.

Keep apples with apples and oranges with oranges please.

I’ve had some success explaining to Lefties the dangers of collectivism this way: There is nothing wrong with collectivism – when it’s voluntary. The NRA is a collective, which is nothing more than a group of people coming together to further a common goal, just like a food co-op. It’s when the government involuntarily forces us all together to further goals which may or may not fit our own that it becomes tyrannical, and must be destroyed by any means necessary.

Thank you Glenn for what you are attempting to do. As a b-boomer born in the 40′s and raised in the 50′s and 60′s I have witnessed the devolution of our great Republic. We have gone from self reliance into complete nanny state welfare incompetence. I remember my parents getting all of us kids ready for Sunday church services, shinning shoes, combing our ****, putting on our best duds (a tie around our neck), we looked sharp and felt good about ourselves. We were never perfect angels, but we always knew right from wrong. Now everything is moral relevance and always about (what is in it for me?), this is called selfishness. I am also a Vietnam veteran and can’t help but notice that the military is nothing but a politically correct social lab experiment, I liked it so much more when we knew that our mission was to wreak havoc on our enemies. Our justice system is nothing but an auction of favors that benefit the highest bidder, both civil and criminal. That past decade I have really noticed that our elections have turned into corruption personified. In other words, “We pretend we vote for the candidates and when they are elected, they pretend the represent us!” Glenn, you are not a lone voice in the wilderness, there are many of us and we will soon be heard loud and clear!

Add to the fact that the top CEOs yearly salaries has been raised up 2-3 times in the last several years. Glenn himself made a record 80 million dollars last year alone.

And yet he tell us, his listening/viewing audience that country is doomed, heading in the wrong direction and he’s starting to “lose faith” ?

We cannot govern ourselves anymore. America has lost its moral compass, its judicial compass, and it doesn’t even know who it is anymore. Hell America doesn’t even self govern anymore. This last election solidified, American’s will never elect a true American again (the foreigners will chose our presidents from now on). The elections are rigged like they were in Iraq under Sadam, and Chavez. We are in the throws of the last days of a once great country. The similarities of America’s last days and Roman Empire are striking. The one major difference is America only existed for a couple hundred years.

Glenn, study the papers of Joseph Smith. He was imperfect but a man of God. Look at the programs on Smith and the history of the Mormon faith on its cable channel. Look at the writings of Bahaullah who also was imperfect. The various prophets are like the Founding Fathers – all imperfect men and women. Spirituality in this day will emerge as democratic. God often reveals to common folks what His prophets cannot see. For example men and women have always been equal in the eyes of the Creator and monogamy the only just form of marriage. Yet none of the prophets and Jesus himself never declared this openly with clarity. Why ? Because God expects humanity to be involved in its spiritual development – just like we as citizens of the U.S. in relationship to the Founding Fathers who were imperfect.

Small government socialism – this is where America and the world are heading. The solution is spiritual. When we EXPERIENCE that our body is the entirety of humanity then this world will become our country and humankind its citizens – a small world government Republic with humanity acting by choice in a socialist way. This will be the beginning of Heaven coming to Earth. A bridge between the two will be discovered and spirituality will be based on direct experience with the Creator not based on faith.

Best not to put your faith in American government, media, or the justice system. It is best to put your faith in God and build BINDING relationships only with those who are inhabited by the Holy Spirit made available through the sacrifice of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua, understanding that even they must wrestle with sin untill we are fully transformed in Gods new creation. God bless everyone and may God have mercy upon the American people, turn them from their folly and preserve our land!

When people put “faith in god” the elite LOVE IT, as this gives them free reign to do as they please. I vehemently disagree with Mr Beck about one thing:

“Get your kids out of schools. They are indoctrination camps.”

It would be far better to wrest control of the schools from insidious organisations, such as Cscope and the unions, and return control to parents.

While there are many who can homeschool their children, there are far many more who cannot. If those that are able and committed enough to their children simply walk away from the problem, those that remain will be forged into weapons for socialists to use in the future with even lesser resistance. The children who have been home schooled will be so outnumbered as to be practically irrelevent.

The socialists, and latterly the Islamists, have known this truth for many decades. The Catholic church has known it for centuries.

How many reports have we seen on this site alone where teachers have used their power over the young to bend them towards socialism, gun control, Islam, Mr Obama, and a host of other things?

I don’t think that it’s too strong to say that public schools are the battleground for the future of our civilisation. The thought of “surrender” in this most vital area is abhorrent to me.

I think that the last thing Mr Beck can be accussed of is being a “media shill”. He has upbraided the established media on countless occassions and, it has been suggested, he lost his job at Fox because he chose principle over personal benefit.

If you think that, because I criticise Mr Beck’s position in one small area, that I disagree with him generally, you are quite wrong. I think that Mr Beck could be described as the “canary in the mine”, and that we ignore his warnings at our peril.

It is representatives of the mainstream media, the “media shills” to whom you refer, that are placing their personal interests above the obligations of their profession – a profession so vital to freedom that it is protected by your Constitution. They are deserving of the contempt that they receive.

While I occassionally disagree with Mr Beck, as in this case, I think that freedom-loving people should be grateful that he, and a some few others, are willing to risk themselves to yell a warning to the rest of us about the very real evil that lurks in the proverbial shadows.

Mr Beck has my unstinting admiration and respect.

Communists use fear to gain control. They know that when people react to their tyrannical policies, society becomes weaker and the tyrants become stronger.

To win the psychological war one must simply not react. By reacting you are feeding the proverbial beast and making “it” stronger.

Absorb the following statement: There can be no fight in any relationship if one of the parties remains silent and does not react. Reaction feeds the power hungry appetite of the tyrant.

Actually, I’m with Soy. Glenn has been putting out some good stuff lately, but let’s be honest. Most of the things he complains about from this administration received bipartisan support from a lot of R’s that he hasn’t called out yet. Allen West, Michelle Bachman, O’Reilly and gun control, Rubio, Ryan, …. This list is quite long. It’s easier to point to the VERY few republicans that still stand up for our values and Constitution. I think you have Mike Lee, Justin Amash, Rand Paul and McClintock (sp?) Perhaps Cruz, but we really don’t know what he’s really about yet. Give those the voice on his network rather than Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Karl Rove, etc.. Take away the neocon voice completely because they’re collectivists too. Take the position that ANY AND ALL R’s who voted for the NDAA, Patriot Act, FISA, HR347, CISPA (next month), etc… are targets to be primaried out because they are worthless fascists. It’s the one thing I never hear. “Most of our party is the same way”. But there are too many ‘conservatives’ receiving SOCIALIST security, so figure the odds of that happening.

People I tell you again. Unless you are ACTIVELY Planning and Preparing for American Revolution v3.0. Unless you have MADE the DECISION that you CAN and WILL take the LIVES of your fellow citizens in order to Preserve YOUR SACRED LIBERTIES then THEY WILL NOT BE PRESERVED!
That is not Advocacy, it is simply Cold Hard Objective Analysis. But no less TRUE for that!
    Deal!

Remind me again why you’re on this website complaining if you hate Beck so much?

DLV – why do you repeatedly ask those questions?

Given glenn beck’s history of propping up the bad politicians and tearing down the good ones – we are allowed to criticize. I think Glenn Beck motivates people for selfish reasons and not necessarily to make this country better

So it’s a legit question that annoys me endlessly, when people complain about him but then show up to his website. At least most liberals complain about him without spending their time at a website they would hate….

DLV – cuz i want to win the war. Like the pharisees, the average Glenn Beck listener is close to the truth but need to hear the truth and be given another option

You think if we all acted like conservative media puppets things would get any better?

Well no, Soy but I firmly believe Beck is a brother who needs to have a talking to with people who have been watching him closely. I would love to have the opportunity to sit down and have a 1 on 1 talk with him and raise all the questions us two have been talking about over the weeks. What his train of thought was etc. I just don’t think we should demonize, more like bring up his mistakes to him and correct them because his influence has far reaches, he just needs to use it right.

bringing up the facts and his mistakes is what we do on a regular basis. By the way, you will not get your 1 on 1 but you can influence people in your life and people you talk to. From what i have seen, Glenn Beck surrounds himself with “yes men” and does not take kindly to criticism….Thats why he hated the ron paul supporters so much

Beck is a rational guy I think but is misled in some areas. He even points out when he has been wrong before and says he is open to criticism. The few times I think he has gotten it wrong, I call him out on it. I think when he has an idea and has evidence for it and then brings in others to help back up those ideas. what you call “Yes men” are just people he largely agrees with. By the law I’ve seen both Pat and Stu disagree with him before, mainly Stu. I remember on the eve of the election Stu had completely different direction of who would win, Beck jokingly called him names but Stu was right and I’m pretty sure Beck admitted he was far too optimistic. You have to be looking harder you see.

But yes, I already take your advice of influencing others.

What an idiot Mr. Beck is.

He says that people want the rich man to work so they will be taken care of. But the rich man is still rich. No one wants this .

What actually is happening is hundreds are working so 1 can be rich. Mr. Beck is the 1. He doesn’t recognize his own immorality

What are you babbling on about now? You make it sound like people are being compelled to work for the benefit of a small minority without being compensated. The simple fact is that people wouldn’t work a particular job if they didn’t feel like they were being paid enough. That’s what we call “economic incentive” and it works best when the government stays out of the way. If a person feels they could make more money doing something else, why wouldn’t they?

Most people don’t care if they aren’t the richest person because they are happy with what they have. The only people who hate the rich are those who want what the rich have but are too lazy to actually try and earn it. They’d rather just take it by force.

Perhaps Mary, you should take some time to actually study economics before you try to speak like an expert. Maybe then you won’t make idiotic claims like how Social Security is a government trust fund.

It is impossible to educate the terminally stupid like the Mary, the Beth, the Elizabeth, who doesn’t even know who it is. The trolls are out in force to try and shut Beck down.

There is a race to the finish. And winner will keep all!

The race breaks down like this: The collectivists have major momentum in America, right now. Large groups will always defeat single individuals (see bullying or mobs-like the Arab Spring). But the global economy is moving quickly towards the system breaking down. The collectivists MUST win the battle here, on American soil (thereby winning over everything, since America really is the last stand for individual rights, etc.) before the banking aparatus collapses, or else the only folks left to “inherit the Earth” will be the “individuals”. If the collectivists get a strangle hold over our entire country before them, then the people will be programmed to turn to a governent to save them.

God bless us everyone. God bless Libertarians.

I have not lost faith in the government, the media, or the justice system, because without citizens like us that understand how they work, they can’t function? I’ve got faith in myself, and I know others do as well. I don’t blame Glenn Beck for coming to his conclusions, the easy way out, is to bury our heads in the sand, or come up with feedback marketing that works?

Government, the justice system, and the media are works of patience, not commodities of convenience?

    Move that mountain please.

Gee, Walter Williams indicated this same loss of Faith THREE FREAKIN YEARS AGO!
If you have not read “Parting Company” Williams’ April 7, 2010 Column.
In it he posits that America is now divided between the Collectivist Statists and the Individualists and that our differences are “irreconcilable”. He suggests DIVORCE. I suggest Williams is advocating the Dissolution of the Union.
I would like to hear both Williams and Beck enlarge on this idea.
