Liberal Actor on GOP-Led Filibuster Over Drones: ‘For God’s Sake, Where Are Democrats?’

Liberal Actor John Cusack on Filibuster Over Drones: For Gods Sake, Where Are Democrats?

Actor John Cusack describes himself as a progressive, but he has been a critic of the federal government’s drone program regardless of who has been is in office. Frankly, he has also be a pretty harsh critic of President Barack Obama as well.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and other GOP senators on Wednesday conducted an old-school filibuster on the Senate floor to block John Brennan’s nomination and bring attention to the potential for drone strikes on U.S. soil. As the hours went by, Cusack was curious to know: “where are Democrats?”

Here are a series of Cusack’s tweets compiled by Twitchy.com:

Cusack had one tweet that was longer than 140 characters, but here’s what he wrote:

AG say its ok to kill us citizens–and other bad guys- but trust us we’re the good guys..
how’d that play out through history mr holder…
pay no attention to the man behind that curtain
the great and powerful O has spoken…

The filibuster lasted almost 13 hours.

He77 NO!! As for the Democrats, they’re busy kissing Obama’s posterior.

Would you really believe him if he promised drones would not be used against Americans? Really? Do you believe ANYTHING this man says? The real point is that he could have just said it (without meaning it), but his narcissistic tendencies wouldn’t allow even that small concession. The man will be brought down by those like Paul, Cruz and those of us who have the stomach to fight for our country.

Who cares? We are smarter than this as a people. Let us figure out the method for taking over the flight control of these drones and then we can send them back to those who originally launched them. It should be easier than taking over a manned aircraft. I would love to see the face as a drone he had commanded launched against an American was taken over and turned back on him. Then we could treat it as Benghazi, like nothing had happened. Nah, forget that we would be celebrating for weeks if a drone took out the burr head.

Pretty sure the Democrats are clapping like trained seals. The Republicans would be doing the same under a Republican president. This is what happens when you live in a right-left paradigm, you cheer for your guy, boo and hiss the opposing team’s guy, and call any “third party” a bunch of fringe kooks, because like the GOP says, “we can’t have more than two political parties”. I think Cusack could be a powerful tool to start the tide against the so-called progressives, pushing through Obama’s agenda. It will only take a few of these types to start a tidal wave and while they most likely won’t become Republicans or even conservative; it may be enough to make a difference. I think we have just as much to fear from the republican-types that are willing to go along to get along.

Apparently Cusack has no idea what a progressive is.

Here, Johnny, I’ll explain it- a progressive is someone who feels that the constitution allows idiots to rule themselves independent of a dictator. They believe the constitution limits their power over man and find that idea appalling. They will do anything in their power to achieve ultimate control ove the affairs of man and have no limits to their tactics. They do not believe that man has God given rights and should be instructed by the elite on how to live, what to eat, and to sit down and shut up. The constitution is an obstruction to their true goals and must not be obeyed or respected, but shredded. And now Johnnys worried about drone strikes?

Hey John, thanks for nothing you self proclaimed progressive tool. Now head back to Hollywood and go hang out with the other “progressives.” I have no use for you.

Sure, everyone wants power, but some have an over-guiding morality that balances this desire. THEY DO NOT. They want to use these drones, to take out so-called malitias or massing groups of patriots, or any serious threat to thier “reshaping” of America. They see drones as a tool they may wish employ….if they have to.

      Gator,
You got that right, McViegh watched Waco unfold and saw U.S. Citizens murdered for practicing their second amendment rights. And it drove him to an unspeakable act(wrong but for the right reason) in the name of patriotism. An McVeighs act forced the ATF to admit they burned 52 Americans to death. The media helped cover it up and ignorant people swallowed the lie unquestioning the reason for sending ATF TO ARREST A MAN ON A UNQUOTE SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGE. Liberals like Cusack sucked it up never thinking that one day it could be their rights and not just the davidians.

Bush was a criminal too. And until people wake up to that reality and the people stand together against the government that is now openly working against then from both sides of the aisle, this country will continue down it’s last days of history into oblivion.

This is yet to be seen. During the battle for the Alamo, Lieutenant Colonel William B. Travis of the Texas Army gave his soldiers a chance to leave. Everyone knew that the battle with the tyrant Santa Anna’s Mexican army could not be won. Only one Frenchman chose to leave. Thus, it has yet to be seen how many Americans will be strong enough in character and spirit to stand up to any attempts by our illegal government to trample our constitutional rights under their feet. It is also yet to be seen how many states will enact and stand behind legislation to protect our constitutional rights (Texas HR 553 vote pending). Further, it has yet to be seen how many police and sheriff departments, as well as the U.S. military branches, are going to forsake their oath to uphold the Constitution, trampling it under foot.
The final question is: Are you ready to stand, fight, and die for the Constitution, Americsans?

      RJJ… point taken.
Exibit #1… MARYBETH… if the “Rs” and “Ds” were reversed in this story… she’d be all about the filibuster….
instead, for her, it’s time to drop trou, and dump on her own convictions in order to blindly support the POTUS.

John Cusack must not be a real progressive. But he will still vote for Obama next election as I am sure O will run for a third term and more.

Finally waking up to the Evil that you and your elitist progressive Dems have created John? In your defense, I will say that you at least do seem well intentioned. What you need to realize is that the people who would have you believe that they are progressive are anything but. This administration has done more to regress this country as far as civil rights and liberties than any POTUS in American history. Many will say that these policies are Bush’s doing and in a sense that would ALMOST be acurate. The policies Bush put into play were NOT open ended and all had expiration dates. Oboma not only extended them, he put them on steroids. So to those of you still wanting to “Blame Bush”, get over it, Obama, Holder, Ried, Pelosi et all completely own the state that this country is in now.

My boy Johnny is waking up! (I loved “Hot Tub TIme Machine” by the way.)

Take a close look America. If “your guy” isn’t with Rand Paul on this one fundamental issue (doesn’t have to agree with him on anything else), then as an American myself, I ask you: “what do you stand for?!”

America is unique. Not because of how it was founded or who founded it or because it had the first Constitution. America is unique because of the people. A people who will not be ruled over.

America has her faults. But what other country or civilization had conqured a people (Native Americans) and then invited them to take part in their process? What other civilization had human slaves, but then re-examined herself, fought a war agains herself, and then freed those people. And then again invited those people’s decendants to participate in her political process?

Not another civilization in the world had done this! This quickly!

Americans were not meant to be ruled over.

Excellent points. I have been making almost the same argument to those that are quick to point out Americas flaws for years.
I do have to argue against your comment about conquering Native Americans. That is not entirely true. The fact is that most Native American tribes were very civilized people simply looking for stability and survival with what they had at hand. Most Native Americans seemingly disappeared because they assimilated with the new society rather than face further wars with rival tribes on their own. Unfortunately that has been erased from the history that we are now taught.

With regard to the Obama circus act, just who is grinding the organ? Progressive, academic, humanist? What a charade! What a charlatan! What a disappointment! What a disaster!

This is not a right or left issue, as Senator Paul said. What if this power is given to the President and the next President thinks the left is the enemy. Does anyone want him to have this power?

      Sta,
the ONLY problem with your ‘what if’ is the Dems NOW are calling people with guns, people with camping gear, people with more than 3 weeks of food, people with a 4×4 trucks, ‘dangerous’, ‘potential terrorists’, ‘delusional’, etc, etc, etc.

AND many on the hyper Left, out there in the Presidents neighborhood of friends in academia and in the old college radicals crowd, are saying things like “lock up the ALL the Conservatives”, “take all the Republicans and stick them in one or two states and build a fence…”, “…they’ve been stealing from the poor people here and the poor people of the world for two hundred years, since they were slave owners…”, and plenty more derogatory half truths and lies like that.

So, STA, if I’m worried about drone strikes, on citizens, by any POTUS, I’m not worried about what the NEXT guy might do, and screw which party that ‘next guy’ comes from!

I’m WAY more worried about the guy who THOUGHT UP and vetted the PROCESS with the USAG that says they CAN kill U.S. citizens ON U.S. soil with armed drones!

And there is a historical correlation to look at here.

Europe, the 1930′s, Hitler, blaming THE JEWS, for ALL the evils of the world, and he told the German people, if we just take THE JEWS out of the loop, the world will be a better place. We’ll just round them up, and put them all in one or two places, we’ll take back all the stuff that they’ve been ‘stealing’ from the country and the world…

Patriot Act needs to be removed. These politicians have us thinking we are always in a war like situation and environment. They move us with their fear mongering…..
Stand up and fight! Contact your senators ppl and tell them you Stand With Rand! and ask them what do they stand for? demand a response! They work for us and we are sick of the partisan politics.
