You Will Never Believe Who Said ‘Rand Paul Is the MAN’ for Filibuster — Seriously, You Won’t
Former Obama White House advisor Van Jones on Wednesday showed his support for libertarian Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and his nearly 13 hour filibuster on the Senate floor over potential drone strikes on U.S. soil.
“Rand Paul is the MAN right now,” Jones tweeted.
.@senrandpaul is the MAN right now. #Hate2AdmitIt #p2 #tcot #NoDrones
— Van Jones (@VanJones68) March 7, 2013
Just as a side note, #StandWithRand was the number one trending topic on Twitter at one point… in the entire world. It seems that America has sent Washington a clear message on the issue of drone strikes on U.S. soil.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on March 7, 2013 at 1:00amI can say, Senator Rand Paul was excellent, articulate and specific in all of his facts. Ted Cruz is a stand out, AWESOME. When Cruz read parts of Reagan’s ’64 speech it was like Reagan was here again, only BETTER. Mike Lee was great. These 2 helped Rand the most during the whole day and night. One lonely Dem from Oregon showed up in support and concern. Good for him!
They all made Dick Durbin look like the dirty little commie **** kisser he is!
It was great to see the support from: Braasso- WY, Moran KS, Ron Johnson WI, Tim Scott SC, Jeff Flake AZ, Toomey PA, Thune SD, Rubio FL, McConnell, KY. It was a Constitution love fest.

First step to cleaning out Washington! These men are the ones who are not afraid to clean the cesspool of corruption, Communism and Marxism.
Now…how do we support them in new and different ways? Just an atta boy will not do!
Maybe link arms around the White House lawn fordays on end? It’s close to the American people now anyway!!!
Maybe standing outside by the hudreds of thousands on a rotating basis?
We need to do something to show our support for these men!

It is unconstitutional to execute American Citizens on American soil without due process unless they are posing an emanate threat against Americans. Also, to execute one person and by doing so killing 6 Innocent Americans just because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time is unacceptable. Van Jones knows this is wrong. They are using the UN Small Arms Treaty as the lynch pin for their dirty work…The problem is that the UN is not allowed on Sovereign US Soil and never will. They will and should be considered an invading army…period!

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 8:28amConsider this “Capitol Crop Rotation”.
Farmers do it, artists & creative individuals do it-
now, FINALLY…new, fresh-faced public servants do it.
They all know by rotating & cultivating seed, idea and goals
every year or so, it makes for rich & fertile growth.
The old stodgy guard on Capitol Hill have got to go-
don’t just rotate them out of office, send them off to the hinderlands for good.
That includes all the Dems AND Repubs
who spit & sputter away OUR freedom,
zap American spirit,
siphon off security & stunt OUR country’s growth.
We are watching “Capitol Crop Rotation” take place
before our very eyes-
Rand Paul is manning the plow.
Turn over the dirt and sow, America-
this was all part of the plan…our founders & Breitbart are high-fiving.
In the background, the diminutive, despicable “Leader” looks weaker
and insanely less steady, day by day.
Paul, Cruz, Lee give us reason to still believe in this great reason-
it’s about time !

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 9:47amI watched the last 2 hours of the filibuster last night, and it was truly awe inspiring. Well done, Rand!
Also, watched one of the MSNBC shows last night (when I can’t get a straight answer out of the President and his Admin, I can always go to MSNBC to understand the rationale for whatever ridiculous policy is being put Forward) to see what those tools were saying on the subject, and it was facinating what I saw and interpreted from the conversations between the 5 on the panel. Generally, they focused on Right Wing Radicals, militia types etc… and pulled out a bunch of studies out of moth balls from the same usual nobody scientist who always prop up Leftwing ideology with unscientific and biased stats and conclusions, all of which point to the eminent danger these “conservative” ideologues, much more than Muslim Fundamentalist. To paraphrase the conversation, the Left’s belief is that Right Wing Radicals are today’s biggest threat within our borders, that they have performed several times more actual attacks on this country in the past 10 years than any other group, and that it is a matter of time before another Timothy McVey-like strike happens, if not worse. While they did not come straight out and say it, they implied that drone attacks just might be handy in the event these Rightwing nuts go militaristic on all of us. I have to believe, sense these loons are always whispering in the President’s ear, and that they share the same ideology, Obama himself agr

Idaho may be the most republican state in the union, but they are far from the most conservative state. We are overrun by RINO’s, the governor included. It is time for people to wake up and realize that the R party is not looking out for you either. There were/are several valid libertarian candidates in Idaho, one has to look past the slanderous attack campaigns conducted by the establishment and vote them in.
I am not surprised in the least that neither of our RINO senators were there.

libertarian means “classic” liberal….as in someone that stands for personal liberty and freedom… granted the big “L” Libertarian Party is just a Liberal Progressive lite party…but not those of us that are libertarian minded conservatives or constitutional libertarians, like Rand Paul.
there actually is a conservative libertarian constitutional case to be made for State/local control of education, marriage policy, drug policy, EPA and FDA functions, and many many more functions that the Federal government has usurped.
the problem is that the libertarian and constitutionalist wings of the GOP have been making these arguments since before the Progressives and the DNC saw another voting block they could corrupt and co-opt for gain. now the Progressives frame the argument and people like you believe anyone that agrees is the same as they are. this is analogous to all the Paul-bots out there raining hate and vitriol down on anyone that DARE question King Ron and his greatness.
so, as a libertarian minded conservative Constitutionalist, I find myself DAILY listening to Cruz, Lee, and Paul and beginning to understand MORE the rational and logic behind their arguments. Now unlike some pure libertarians that want no oversight, I think marriage, drug policy, and the like should be handled at the State and local level only and people can “vote with their feet” if they disagree with the citizens of that State or city.

you apparently don’t watch Stossel that much…he will tell you himself that he was a very liberal progressive until he started doing “consumer reporting” and researching and finding out that all these idiotic rules were written by Progressives…then he began to move right.
does he still believe the “war on drugs”, “war on poverty”, and “war on terror” are a joke? Yes… and the more you research them you realize he is RIGHT!! especially when you research “eugenics” and Planned Parenthood and their true goals (extermination of all “burdens” on society). especially when you research how the illiteracy rates and poverty rates, drug use rates, and unwed birth rates have risen since all these things started.
now if you believe in the Constitution, then you believe that the 9th and 10th RESTRICT the FED from stepping into the private lives of citizens and the area of local and State government, you believe that the FED can do NOTHING to restrict our personal liberty, including who we sleep with or eat or drink or smoke or inject. UNTIL I commit a crime (crime being something that actually does or has the potential to deprive another of their personal liberty) then the FED MUST leave me alone. The example is DUI…if I stay at home or at the bar and never drive, I can get as drunk as I like with no crime but as soon as I drive, I am in danger of depriving another of Life which is a right the government MUST protect, hence the crime.

There is no way to rationalize this, you are ideologically set on a certain path. But i would argue your ideology is based on revisionist history….For example, most people have no idea about the leadup to our involvement in WWI. Most people do not understand that FDR and the admin knew the japanese were planning an attack and there is plenty of evidence to suggest they encouraged the attack and did nothing to prevent it. Most people do not know about the US involvement in Iran since the ’50s.
When you research those things (including Lincoln and the civil war), you find out about the nature of government and war

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 2:14pmSoybomb – THANK YOU. I’ve been waiting for somebody on this site to say it. Liberals and Libertarians agree on a lot of civil liberty issues. I think those of us on the left are getting tired of Obama taking advantage of our loyalty. Aren’t you tired of getting taken advantage of by the GOP?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. A congress of Progressives and Libertarians could get SO much more done than the current quagmire.

That’s a big assumption Soy. I did object to a lot of W’s foreign policies. Each day that passes, I am more and more against the Iraq War.
“For example, most people have no idea about the leadup to our involvement in WWI.”
I’m a history major Soy. I’m aware Wilson wanted us to get involved in WW1 so we could get a position on the front stage in the world and be more involved. The U.N. and all.
Most people do not understand that FDR and the admin knew the japanese were planning an attack and there is plenty of evidence to suggest they encouraged the attack and did nothing to prevent it.”
Doesn’t surprise me. After all, during the war, FDR, Stalin, and churchill got together and were talking about policing the world so another Nazi Germany didn’t rise. Essentially, FDR wanted us to be policeman of the world. I know. This is still doesn’t refute the fact that there is a big problem in the insanity of Iran.
Most people do not know about the US involvement in Iran since the ’50s.”
The govenrment tries to get involved everywhere such as selling weapons to the taliban so they could beat back the Russian army in the 70s. I’m aware of this too. I’m against us being Policeman of the world but I think it’s foolhardy to ignore Iran’s threat and the danger they pose to our ally Israel. I mean if you saw your friend getting the crap kicked out of him would you intervene?

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 4:41pm@dlv, You also have to remember the same government who lies all the time is the same government saying Iran posses a threat. Example : You won’t get cancer from inhaling the debris from the trade centers ( what they told the firefighters). Example : Saddam was directly behind 9/11. (Bush + Cheney propagated this lie for a couple years during interviews) http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-09-06-poll-iraq_x.htm
I’m not excusing Iran’s actions — Just pointing out the lies.

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 5:13pmresme- I agree. I don’t really trust the government on anything but if it’s possible, I trust Iran’s crazy government even less. The demeanor of A-jad in those videos is scary. Morgan asked him a simple yes or no question and the man went out of his way to dodge the question. Morgan was more or less saying “just say no you don’t believe in the holocaust, we just want to know!” And A-jad just said “Well the question is much more complex yadda yadda etc.” In other words, the fact he is so flimsy on this pretty much means he doesn’t believe in the holocaust and I firmly believe if given the opportunity his government would try to eradicate our friends.

Based on what you wrote…..Overall you agree with ron paul’s foreign policy more than GW Bush/McCain/Romney (yes, they are the same). So why do you act like Ron Paul’s is so much worse? Why not just say you “dont agree with Ron Paul’s foreign policy completely but I agree with the neocon republican’s even less”???

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 4:20amYes. and Rand Paul is a Libertarian like his father Ron Paul. Rand Paul just USES the GOP to get some of his stuff done. He is a MAJOR FLIP FLOPPER. This is all about Rand Paul and HIS CAREER.
@Good STuff:
You nailed it buddy. This is a carefully crafted SHOW to get Rand Paul out there. He is running for President in 2016, right? Yeah. This is just THEATER.

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 10:54amYes, Liz, it’s all part of our awful plan to replace you RINOs with men like Rand Paul, and there’s nothing you can do about it. We believe in such evil things as freedom, liberty, and strict adherence to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Take a breath, Liz.

I would take Hagel over Rice, Bolton, or any other shill the republican establishment would nominate

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 3:23amOnly 4 R Senators approved Hagel’s nomination. One of them was Rand Paul. Rand Paul is very good on Constitutional issues, however people should be aware of the fact that he wants to substantially draw back America’s military influence around the world. Do we need to draw back? Absolutely! Could it have very dangerous consequences for us should we draw back too extensively? Yes! Rand Paul has a mixed record regarding Israel, one where he provides lip service calling them our best ally, while also commenting that the U.S. should not provide aid to ANY foreign nation. If you like Rand’s domestic policy and preservation of Constitutional authority, yet believe in a strong national defense and steadfast support of Israel, you are better off backing someone like Toomey, Cruz, Lee, or Rubio (assuming he doesn’t cave on immigration).

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 12:05pm@GOODSTUFF: Yes, Rand voted for Hagel. So what? The POTUS has the right to pick as crappy of a cabinet as he wants. The filibuster wasn’t even about Brennand, really. It was to get clarification, or at least cast a bright light on the lack of position Obama has taken on the killing of American citizens policy.
Mission accomplished!
