Sen. Feinstein Makes Wild Claim to Push Gun Control at Senate Committee Hearing

Sen. Feinstein Says Its Legal to Hunt Humans With High Capacity Magazines

Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. speaks with reporters on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, March 5, 2013, after a closed-door committee vote on CIA director nominee John Brennan. The committee voted Tuesday to approve President Barack Obama’s pick to lead the CIA after winning a behind-the-scenes battle with the White House over access to a series of top-secret legal opinions that justify the use of lethal drone strikes against terror suspects, including American citizens. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on gun control Thursday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) shot down a proposed amendment to her “assault weapons” ban that would exempt military veterans from the gun ban. She also made some questionable claims.

Pushing a ban on high-capacity magazines, Feinstein argued that it is “legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines.”

Here’s her dubious rationale:

“The time has come, America, to step up and ban these weapons. The other very important part of this bill is to ban large capacity ammunition feeding devices, those that hold more than 10 rounds. We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines. Limiting magazine capacity is critical because it is when a criminal, a drug dealer, a deranged individual has to pause to change magazines and reload that the police or brave bystanders have the opportunity to take that individual down.”

During the same hearing, she also argued that a military veteran could be mentally ill and suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), therefore should be prevented from buying the semi-automatic weapons that would be banned in her bill.

The California Democrat also made the bizarre claim that the “advent of PTSD” is a “new phenomenon” and a “product of the Iraq war.”

Here’s exactly what she said in context: “The problem with expanding this is that, you know, with the advent of PTSD, which I think is a new phenomenon as a product of the Iraq War, it’s not clear how the seller or transferrer of a firearm covered by this bill would verify that an individual was a member, or a veteran, and that there was no impairment of that individual with respect to having a weapon like this.”

It’s clear to me Sen. Feinstein has never hunted to put food in freezer or she would know that you eat what you kill.
Off topic I hope the Blaze fixes their Sign In process soon, it’s getting exasperating at times attempting to sign in.

Remember she is Queen of the oath breakers a female John McCain, they want to prevent our military veterans of owning firearms another ploy to convince the sheep for illegal unconstitutional gun control. Come on veterans current serving and retired you to LE this will apply to all. oatkeepers.org I think she is using Kyle as another crisis. Stand up vets now or never, we will never gain our rights back. For those who say Fk Californians I say Fck you, I am fighting like a feign including my company making it on the NY firearms ban list banning sales to any state or LE agency who support these anti gun laws. I have written more letters, stood on the streets protesting and I share 100′s of e-mails on ways to do your part to protect our Constitution.

You assumed correctly. Thanks we all need to do our part NOW, these freaks have a huge advantage in the media, if all of us PATRIOTS stood up even 10% of us they wouldn’t come close to passing unconstitutional laws that infringe on our liberties. Stand together or fall together, I for one refuse to fall without a fight.

I see that Government officials are still exempt from any restrictions, which includes those charged with protecting politicians.

What I find interesting is that RETIRED law enforcement officers are exempt, but retired military is not. Why exactly do retired law enforcement need full access to “assault” weapons? Oh right, they are still represented by unions, that’s why.

Please quit using the term assault weapon it plays with their narrative. But you are correct most current LE think they are above the law as it pertains to these proposed laws lol, they will be subject to them like the rest of us. That’s why they all need to reaffirm the oath they took to uphold and defend the US Constitution.

Can someone explain to me why there isn’t a age limit for being a Senator? Meaning you have to be 30 years old or older to be a Senator, then you shouldn’t be allowed to stay in office past 60?

These senile crazy old bats are driving our country into the ground faster than a Hydrogen gas filled dirigible named the Titanic piloted by Obama.

Gun control by using drones. What’s the limit, male or female tags. Does the prey have an age limitation. Just remember you’ll have to lead the younger ones a little more than the old ones. Stupid people that should be impeached.

The more often I hear Democrats talk about gun control, the more I’m becoming convinced they’re just playing a game of Mad Libs. It’s the only way many of their comments can be explained.

Ironic, as most of them are mad libs.

The only way these politiions will take our guns is by force… If they attempt this, there will be an uprising such at they have never seen and much bloodshed. Surly, even the most ardent liberal should be able to see reason that this isn’t a good idea, but, they are blinded by their idealism of their perfect society and they will press on… much to their determent.
