Fox’s Chris Wallace Tells Paul Ryan That Obamacare Repeal Is ‘Not Going to Happen’
House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will present a budget this week that’s based on the repeal of President Barack Obama’s Supreme Court-approved health care law.
“By repealing Obamacare and the Medicaid expansions that haven’t occurred yet, we’re basically preventing an explosion of a program that is already failing. So we’re saying don’t grow this program through Obamacare because it doesn’t work,” the 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee said on “Fox News Sunday.”
Fox News host Chris Wallace challenged Ryan about repeal, stating flatly: “Well that’s not going to happen.”
“Well, we believe it should,” Ryan said. “That’s the point. This is what budgeting is all about. It’s about making tough choices to fix our country’s problems. We believe that Obamacare is a program that will not work.”
Regarding his potential plans for 2016, Ryan in no way dismissed a White House bid out of hand.
“I honestly think that we have a problem right now, that’s a budget mess,” Ryan said. But once that’s no longer an issue, “I’m going to give serious thought to these other things.”
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. At least this man is actually trying to solve the problem. Being on the budget committee I think makes him qualified to suggest ways of solving the budget crisis. That crisis by the way, will be an issue three YEARS from now when the next presidential race starts…and then after that…until we fix it. So maybe we should start finding solutions, instead of going with whatever program was rammed through…(I’m pretty sure you people, meaning keaton, jerk, and “freedomlover,” were the same ones complaining about the Bush spending, Patriot Act, etc. that Obama kept going, so you should understand not wanting to repeat blind continuation of failed programs…)

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 6:00pmFreedom? You got no idea! They haven’t even come close to writing all the rules, regulations, and taxes for your obamacare. Since you believe young healthy people should be forced to pay for the healthcare on the older, unhealthy, people. Do you believe you should pay a lot more for auto insurance, in order to allow bad drivers to get ‘cheap’ insurance. We should tax people who ride the train and buses, and put the money toward your car insurance. Whenever you buy groceries, leave an extra $100 for someone else to pay for thier groceries.
Why don’t we just build a camp next to the hospital, and force all medical employees to live in the camps. If they don’t give us good cheap medical care, we can just beat them with whips. That would allow you to have low cost healthcare? How would you like your job, to be run by the government stoogies. You type like you have gotten your education in the NY city school system.

After reading the multitudes of your venomnous filled post it seems to me that all you have to say is “what about the 50 million uninsured?” well I would like to point out that you have not offered a viable solution all you have done is been divisive. I like Ryan’s solution get rid of an over bloated system that most Americans don’t want anyway and free up some cash that could be better spent else where. Once this is done we can actually do something about the uninsured like get them some jobs so they can pay for their own insurance, and maybe get rid of some of the insane regulations that are choking the private sector so that companies can actually create jobs that have good benifits. I must ask you to stop being and a__ and toeing the prog line and think outside of the box maybe read a little I have a suggestion that maybe you start with an unabridged version of the constitution because I don’t think your reading the right one.

All of those issues were fought and lost over and over and over in the past. But each year, a new bill would appear to bring the fight back. Fast forward a couple of decades and much of what I listed above is making headway now.
This country DOES need healthcare reform. But obamacare is a disaster and in 10 years when history looks back at guys like Paul Ryan people who scoff at him now will likely wish they hadn’t.

Posted on March 11, 2013 at 8:23pmSilvertruth, the United States didn’t have a “spending problem” before Bush started a couple of trillion dollars wars, cut government revenue by trillions with his tax cuts that mostly benefited the very richest, and then collapsed the economy, where a huge fraction of Americans stopped making money and, therefore, paying taxes. You do realize that’s why we have a deficit right?
You’re answer? Keep the tax cuts and loopholes for the richest Americans, those American who are making more money than ever while the rest of the country suffers. You do know that the top 1% already owns 90% of America’s wealth. They’re doing fine. But you want to reduce the deficit by taking money away from those least able to pay it, in order to make sure the million and billionaires in our country don’t have to go back to tax rates before Bush.
You do realize the Bush tax cuts didn’t stimulate the economy or create jobs right? Not a bit. Zilch. But you’d reduce your grandmother’s social security to keep those cuts for the richest.

If liberals were held to the same standard, people in New York could still buy 24oz pepsi at a 7-11. If liberals were held to the same standard, the country wouldn’t be debating gun control. If liberals were held to the same standard, a lot of abortions in the country would NOT happen in the name of ‘health risk to the mother’ since a health risk is undefined and can mean anything.

“…let’s convert Medicare into a comprehensive personal insurance plan just like Congress and all Federal Employees already have today, not just for the seniors but for ALL citizens in the United States – with the bipartisan support of the Democrats who came up with the solution in the first place…”
If his 2014 budget has that plan in it, well, it’s almost certain to be approved because it does SO much MORE for the citizens than the Affordable Care Act currently provides. Obama care leaves 30 Million poor off of the insurance rolls. These folks will vote Ryan into the White house a year early if he can help improve the US health insurance participation while reducing cost.

It will never get past the Senate. The people in the government, Republicans and Democrats alike could not even agree on where to cut $85 billion dollars. But they could agree to send money to the Al Qaeda rebels in Syria and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
Paul Ryan’s assertion that they will balance the budget in 10 years is a farce. Maybe the direct budget but they have done nothing about the unfunded liabilities – Social Security, Medicare and Pensions.
I am of the belief that this country’s financial and political situations are beyond repair. We live in a country that lets the likes of HSBC launder millions of dollars in drug money and break sanctions and the American people are told they are too big to prosecute.Yet gun control measures are being pushed on the law abiding citizens because of a few drug induced crazy lunatics. Even the drone filibusterer was a joke because the answer the Criminal in charge basically said the government could used a weaponized drone against an American citizen on USA soil if they are engaged in “combat”. NDAA in play? And now the government is seeking to go after “associates of associates”. Talk about leaving an open door for sanctioned political assassination.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:38pmI contract all my workers and don’t hire employees. I don’t have to pay workman’s comp, give any benefits, pay medical insurance or anything else. It works for me just fine. As for myself, I’m covered under my wife’s employer’s plan and also am a veteran w/free medical care. Screw Obama and his stupid healthcare plan/laws.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:53pmI understand that your employees freely sign on to your company, however, the question that I have is do you think that is a just way in dealing with your employees? Put another way, are you doing that just to get around regulations or is that normal business practices in your line of business? You may very well do good by your employees but if its just to get around regulations, that’s not in line with biblical principles.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:58pmI’m not keen on Wallace either, but in regard to obamacare repeal I agree. With the likes of *****, a weak republican House, McCain, Graham, and a focused democrat Senate, I fear obamacare will remain the law of the land. I also expect obama will succeed in the transformation of America, with economic disaster looming ever closer.
Have nice day.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:52pmYou’ve been very fortunate. The sad news is that one week’s hospital stay now can sink any family’s financial security. There used to be programs we could get for “catastrophic” insurance needs…we could pay the normal things (set broken arm etc) but when it came to serious testing and treatment..that would kick in. Your Auto Ins. should cover your accidental claims for health care on the road, but not at home where most accidents happen. Some Drs. have a pre-pay “patient group” that you can sign up for to get guaranteed attention but that doesn’t include Hospitals.
The whole system is totally screwed; We had 85% covered and relatively happy and instead of going after the fraud and duplication and reducing nonsense lawsuits (reason for all the senseless CYA tests now called for by most drs. ) that dope in the WH – hell bent on turning the USA into a MARXIST country.. I mean his grand parents were card-carrying Communists; his mentor Frank Davis was well-known Communist; Michelle’s parents were card-carrying Communists. what do you think the odds are that both Obama and Michelle are total Communists?
Health care: IT has to be overturned. It has to be de-funded but in the mean-time don’t jeopardize your financial future by not having coverage. Look around for Dr’s who have their own “membership” and organizations that will allow you to join for big group ins. Face, until it’s overturned, he has got us.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 3:08pmDrop your insurance, pay the fine, get sick and die. Fine by me.
Making people buy insurance keep costs down for everybody – making young healthy people buy insurance keeps costs down for older people, so that when those young people get old, they don’t have to pay huge premiums. It’s the right thing to do, fiscally and morally.

Don’t you see anything wrong with that or have you not yet lived enough of this life to see the error and injustice in it?

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 6:14pmAll my life I bought the insurance in case I got an expensive illness or injury. This was because you couldn’t get coverage on pre-existing conditions. With this new system, I would just wait until the condition hits, then pay the slightly higher premium. Now, at least my ‘death panel’ is made up of doctors at the Veteran’s Hospital.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:20pmOver the past 3 years Ryan, Boehner and McConnel all had their chance, instead they gave in to everything Obama wanted even to the point that these republican leaders coerced the majority republicans in the house, that were willing to have gone against budget increases submitted by Obama.
The explosion of the program falls directly on the republican controlled house of Representatives that control the budget and the traitorous leaders like Ryan.

How do you think it will be repealed? The republicans in the house have been funding every incremental increase step in healthcare asked for by Obama. It’s to the point were the republican majority in the house isn’t going to stop it so why would a republican governor want to stop it? Everyone has jumped on the Obama bus and now this d***** b whats to say I want to stop it, when he was 1 of the leaders that shoved it down the throats of those that were against it.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:17pmHow many fools like Wallace said prohibition would never be repealed? Bad policy is bad policy and either can be repealed in an organized fashion or be left to fail on it’s own and take the nation down with it. Just look at the CRA, which should have been repealed but was constantly tweaked in attempt to make it “work”. That bill stands as a living example of bad legislation bringing a country to it’s knees.
Wallace should embrace sound fiscal practice and quit playing politics on his show.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 1:40pmThe problem with Ryan IMO is that he has been bit by the establishment bug. He has some good ideas, but knows full well that the problem is bigger than his solution. The establishment just wants to tweak things until they get back into power and shift the now larger government into their control. We have been spending about 40% more than we take in for the past 4 years and carry a debt that is nearly 8X our annual revenue. A trim job only extends the pain.

Posted on March 10, 2013 at 3:49pmHistorically as a society becomes decadent, its currency is abused until it weakens and fails. At that point a more frugal and disciplined neighbor takes advantage of the weak neighbor, kills it off, and takes its stuff.
Chris Wallik (Russian ***) is correct that socialized medicine will not be voted out in a democracy. But it will accelerate the decline and eventual collapse of the currency. In our instance, this will lead of hunger and societal upheaval. Natural Law will then replace Artificial Law as the governing doctrine. It’s not a pleasant process, and Logical persons should not hope to experience it, but it is nonetheless pre-ordained. These people are losing control of their managed decline so Wallik’s exuberance is irrational. As is Ryan’s naiveté.
Mother Nature will not be mocked.
