Police Release Shocking Footage of Drive-By Attack That Saw Up to 11 Shot in DC This Morning
Washington, D.C. police have released security footage of a drive-by shooting that injured at least eleven people early Monday morning in an attempt to identify the assailants.
“We have confirmed that we have 11 individuals that are injured. We have mostly gunshot wounds to the legs, extremities, hands, some graze wounds,” Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed during a morning news conference.
The video shows two cars pulling up along the sidewalk some time after 2:00 a.m., and then people collapsing in a row and scrambling as the driver opens fire.

Police say they don’t immediately know of a motive, and detectives are still interviewing witnesses and collecting bullet fragments and other evidence.
21-year-old Jonique Douglas is one such witness, it seems. She had reportedly just come out of the Fur Nightclub around the corner when the shots began.
She recalled: “Everybody was screaming…They shooting like directly at us…It coulda been a bloody mess.”
It wasn’t immediately clear why the crowd was standing outside at that time of day, though it’s possible most of them came from nearby clubs.
“There is usually a pretty good crowd out here – Saturday night, Sunday night,” Lanier noted.
Here’s video of the shocking scene, with an emphasis on the assailants’ vehicles:
Commander Andy Solberg said that in the early hours of the morning, particularly on weekends, “a whole lot of people with cash in their pockets come out onto the street, and the guys from Tyler House are waiting for them. That’s when you get the holdups and that’s the source of the shootings in the neighborhood.”
But that’s just one theory, and it’s unclear whether any of the victims knew the assailants.
Except for one person who was shot in the back, Lanier said the injuries are not expected to be life-threatening. The group was comprised of adults and one 17-year-old.
Police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects, asking people with information to call 202-727-9099.

If a weapon is fired there would be a muzzle flash that would light up the night and the inside of the car. None there why not? Just a question you should ask yourselves.

If these cameras are legal, then why can’t we get high def/high FPS models so when they do catch a crime, we can see the make, model (besides when idiots like this use a Cadillac with the distinctive grill), and year of the vehicle…If you are going to surveil the people, you should do it right.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and venture a guess that background checks and limits on ammo weren’t going to stop this kind of crime, eh? How about those proposed anger management classes? Don’t think they would have worked, either. Do you suppose if the victims were wearing a whistle and carrying a fine-point pen in a clearly marked safe zone with a call box nearby that they would not have been shot? I know, I know, the victims should have just wet themselves in advance to ward off the drive-by attackers.

They will get a $50 fine for an unregistered firearm, $50 fine for failing to take a gun safety course, $50 fine for not taking an anger managment course- that is starting to add up and ought to make them consider the error of their ways! If it was in NYC they would likely find a 32 oz soda and some transfat foods in the get away car and the full force of the law would be upon them!

She was the youngest in the room. I am PROUD but still worry and working on it daily. She did not have to join to have a job. When I tried to talk her out of it she said she has to do it. It’s what she’s here for.

The guns were probably brought in by the whitey, just like whitey brought in all the drugs. The well respected al (bundy) sharpton told us that, so it must be true. Posted on March 11, 2013 at 4:13pmYes, D.C. has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation… and it looks like most gun owners in D.C. are criminals. Go figure. I use to think the bumper sticker that says “When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns” was stupid, but it’s actually pretty profound.
