Republican Senator Ted Cruz during an address at the annual Cuba-Democracy PAC luncheon in Miami said that “hopefully, in the not too distant future,” Fidel and Raul Castro join Hugo Chavez in facing “the ultimate judgment.”
“Hugo Chavez went to meet his maker,” the senator said. “And sometime, hopefully, in the not too distant future, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro will join Hugo Chavez, and all three will face the ultimate judgment.”
“When that occurs,” the senator of Cuban descent continued, “there will be no time when U.S. leadership is more important.”
Sen. Cruz’ father fought for Fidel Castro in the Cuban Revolution (and was jailed and tortured by the Batista government), but later fled the country after Castro started seizing “private property and suppressing dissent.”
“Fidel Castro and Che Guevara are not cute, chic icons of Hollywood,” the senator continued. “They were — and are — murderous, oppressive thugs.”
The Texas senator argued that America needs to do a better job of standing up to oppressive regimes, invoking former President Ronald Reagan and his famous “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall” line.
Cuba and America need a “President that will stand up today and say, ‘Mr. Castro, let the Cuban people go. Mr. Castro, open up the ballot box. Mr. Castro, empty the jails!” Sen. Cruz concluded.

Mar. 12, 2013 at 10:09pmTed Crews is educating the people on the evils of Castro.
Some of the greatest patriots are Cubans who escaped that Hell Hole.
One family came home and their house had been confiscated. Had a seal on it couldn’t get in.
Another decided to leave, faked a vacation to Spain, came to U.S. could only take few things with
them because Castro wouldn’t let ppl leave with valuables or lots of money. Lost everything but
gained freedom. They can see it happening here…….great Americans!
COULD CRUZ BE OUR WASHINGTON? Or Reagan 2.0? Perhaps…..keep your eyes on how he
VOTES, not on what he says is how we know.

Mar. 12, 2013 at 3:54pmYeah – yeah, Cruz is the man until he’s seen shaking hands with the wrong person and he’ll be ostracized and labeled a rhino, neo-con or whatever, just like the fat man was.

Mar. 12, 2013 at 1:54amI love the fact that people of strong character are starting to grab national attention more and more. An old proverb goes, “You know that the end of the day is near when short men cast long shadows.” People like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Ron Paul have real integrity, and their shadows are growing more and more in our land. There is still hope for the American dream of equal treatment under the law and equal opportunity, not the equality of restraint and servitude which happens under socialism.

Mar. 12, 2013 at 1:39amNice to hear some honest remarks about dirty, rotten, murderous dictators. My college Spanish professor as from Cuba. She and her husband were professors in Cuba before the revolution. Castro lined up most of the professors against the ivy laden walls of the college where they taught, and machine gunned them down, murdering anyone in opposition to his version of utopia. Her husband was killed, she escaped. Why we allowed the takeover of Cuba is unknown to we common folk. Probably some mumbo jumbo dirty political dealings. Nothing written in the history books. Sort of the same crap that is happening right now. Feels about the same level of swamp gas smarmy. Where logic and common sense don’t even have a passing acquaintance with the reality. Yep.
