U.N. Finally Confirms Hamas, Not Israeli Rocket Killed Gaza Baby

Those who followed Operation Pillar of Cloud, Israel’s eight-day defensive action against Hamas militants last November, might recall the photo of a BBC reporter’s deceased 11-month-old infant that was plastered across the front pages of multiple Western media outlets, most notably the Washington Post.

Mainstream media outlets reported that it was an Israeli rocket fired into Gaza that claimed the child’s life, while a scant few outlets reported it was a Hamas rocket that actually killed the child. Now, a U.N. report confirms the latter.

The U.N. office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights said in a March 6 report that the Gaza incident seemed to have been caused by a ”Palestinian rocket that fell short of Israel.”

The death of Omar al-Masharawi, the son of BBC stringer Jihad al-Masharawi, was used as a key piece of propaganda by the Palestinians during Operation Pillar of Cloud to showcase what they claimed was Israeli aggression.

Many outlets failed to provide context in their reports, refraining from mentioning that Hamas guerrillas are known to launch rockets from within residential locations, using their own civilians as human shields.

In fact, many Hamas rockets are hidden inside residential buildings as well as near school playgrounds. This tactic alone should underscore Hamas’ disregard for human life, particularly that of the very people they claim to champion.

The mainstream outlets never reported such findings nor did they report that the Israel Defense Forces issues Arabic-language pamphlets well in advance of planned strikes on Hamas operating sites, giving civilians ample time to evacuate the area in an effort to preserve human life.

By using innocent civilians as human shields, Hamas has operated by the strategy that Israel, which consistently conducts itself with a high moral authority, will not strike such targets. Issues arise, however, when a barrage of rockets — literally in the thousands — rain down on innocent Israelis from these very civilian locations in Gaza. This leaves Israel in a precarious situation.

Once the IDF carries out its targeted mission, even after engaging its best attempts to evacuate Gazans beforehand, Hamas wins the propaganda war by claiming Israel struck civilian locations in Gaza. In the arena of public opinion driven by moral equivalence, Israel finds itself vilified. Hamas then achieves the propaganda victory it so desires.

Hamas officials had no response to the U.N.’s findings Monday. Further, BBC officials were not available for comment when contacted by the AP.

Hamas are good actors and liars who know how to use the media to gain sympathy. I hate it when they do that. The world can see that they are murderers and liars who stage scenes like these to blame Israel, but people continue to believe their lies. They don’t even care about their own people and will sacrifice their innocent children for their own evil purporses. How can any human live with so much hate in their souls? They are creating a bunch of sociopaths.

  No, they’re Muslims trying to build a world wide Caliphate, and they believe that even their children killed in this battle become martyrs for the cause and go to their “heaven”. So, to them, it’s a good thing. They have even deliberately recruited young children, whose parents send them to become suicide bombers (unbeknownst to the children) as they walk by Israelis and remote controls set off the bombs they are wearing. The parents believe they will go to “heaven” for serving in the battle. Of course, the parents probably get paid too. Read THE BLOOD OF LAMBS for what Muslims do to their own children. How can you fight people who feel the only way to be sure of getting to “heaven” is to die in battle?

The UN simply decided that, as most people already knew the truth, it would be better for them to come clean and preserve what little credibility they have left.

For most of us, they continue to confirm their anti-west position, and we are no longer sucked by belated admissions of error…

It has been confirmed, as we have said all along, that the killing of a small child earlier was not due to an Israeli airstrike, but the result of a Hamas rocket that was shot down intentionally by the Iraeli Iron dome. Resulting in the deaths of civilians. These Israeli atrocities must stop.

But, it is doubtful that this was an “errant rocket” – this was likely a planned rocket strike, which would explain why the palestinian terrorists quickly and incessantly used the event for propaganda purposes. These terrorists will stop at nothing – even killing their own children is not beyond them. This is what they do.

Isn’t this the way things are always done when reporting about Israel/Palestine in the majority of news outlets? Blame everything on Israel. Isn’t Israel always accused of being the aggressor, Israel started this, Israel killed the baby, ad nauseam?

My only surprise is that the U.N. decided to correct this lie but as always, again, long after the lie was allowed to fester and stand as truth for too long.

  I think the Obama administration is doing more than enough to help the Islamist cause and speed a conflict with Israel quickly enough as well continue to destabilize the middle east.

  A funny story out of Australia today on Drudge as well on how Australia cannot understand why Islamist will not assimilate into their culture and instead try to destroy and absorb the Australian culture… like they do in every other country they enter.
