‘People Will Be Absolutely Shocked’: Beck Interviews the Host of ‘For the Record’ Ahead of Tonight’s Premiere

Glenn Beck Interviews Laurie Dhue, Host of For the Record

TheBlaze TV audience is in for an eye-opener.

The level of domestic surveillance in the United States has reached such shocking levels in the post-9/11 world that people will find it hard to fathom, said Laurie Dhue, host of TheBlaze TV’s new investigative series “For the Record.” The show’s first episode, “Surveillance State,” tackles just that in its debut tonight at 8 p.m. ET.

“I think this is going to open a lot of people’s eyes…people will be absolutely shocked to know that things have gotten even less transparent in the last 10 years — there’s even more surveillance going on than ever before,” Dhue told Beck on his radio show Wednesday.

The show reveals how the National Security Agency transformed from its stated purpose of foreign intelligence gathering into an arm to listen in on U.S. citizens — all on the taxpayer’s dime.

“After 9/11 the spigots just opened, money continued to flow in the NSA. The NSA got everything it wanted, and the taxpayers basically just got taken to the cleaners,” Dhue said.

What information the government collects, they keep — including in a massive Utah facility slated for completion earlier this year, Dhue said.

“This is all being done in the name of protection, in the name of keeping us safe. But it’s scary stuff when you think about it,” Dhue told Beck.

Joe Weasel, senior producer for TheBlaze Documentary Films, heads a team of seven editors and producers out of TheBlaze’s Columbus, Ohio office to make “For the Record” happen.

“My job is to find areas that need a lot more attention – investigative, historical, educational or whatever it is,” Weasel told GlennBeck.com. “And the key is to try to put that in a format that your average viewer can watch, consume, be entertained.”

Weasel estimated some 1,000 hours went into the premiere hour-long episode of “For the Record.” Everything was built from scratch — starting with the very concept of the show right down to the graphics that appear on the screen. As senior producer, Weasel oversees each level: pre-production, where they pin down the topic, discuss research and create an outline for the episode; the actual production, which includes the writing and the filming; and post-production, where the final product is edited into a cohesive program.

Some aspects are trickier than others — when it comes to filming, finding the right sources to interview is key, and it’s not always easy.

“Nobody wants to do something for nothing – and I don’t just mean money. They either want their story out, or they have a friend who needs help. Nobody just usually grants an interview. So you have to find out what their motive is,” Weasel said. “Once you get past that, you have to have a comfort level that it is actually legitimate and make sure you are both on the same page in terms of information gathering.”

“For the Record” aims to fill a void in investigative journalism once dominated by network giants, including CBS’s “60 Minutes.” The show gets back to the roots of old-fashioned journalism but in a format that will “entertain and enlighten,” Weasel told TheBlaze.

“For the Record” is planning to shoot 24 episodes this year, some of which might feature two or three stories within a single show, Weasel said. Future topics are set to include human trafficking out of Mexico and the Obama administration’s crackdown on government whistleblowers — the type that brought the NSA’s domestic surveillance to light.

“For the Record” debuts Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on TheBlaze TV.

A robust apparatus for controlling US is a necessary tool for the end game phase of truly evil doctrine that comprises the innocuous sounding plan called “Agenda 21″. I would think a good example of what these “Warsaw Ghettos” might look like after that end phase of 21 has been forcibly completed would be the movie “Dredd”. At any rate everything the Marxists/Democrats/Socialists have been doing the past 20 + years is centered around “Agenda 21″. The so-called Global Climate “crisis” is merely the “smokescreen” with which they will use as the reason Agenda 21 must be accepted and implemented ASAP on order to save the Earth (from us but ironically, not from them).. All of this is nothing more than totalitarian rule, central planning (and death) on a scale never attempted before in human history. There is NO compromise with these folks…we are at war with the deadliest foe we have ever faced. Millions of folks have no idea what is coming should the Marxists prevail.

  That’s why I include Solyent Green from the 1960′s. A survival type of film about Social upheaval when the people found the food they are eating came from a familiar source.But since it was green and looked like oatmeal you ate it. But when they found that it came from the elderly people that were required to give up their lives at age 65 etc. or if you could not be a productive member of Society. Dhue is a former Fox “girl” who was fired for being DRUNK one too many times on air. Couple this with the person that just recently told us we were STUPID for thinking there was Conspiracy within the government, that the Tea Party was over, and many other Insulting Remarks for this line of thinking….I just don’t see how any of this will be believable. I certainly can stand to watch Dhue, I was sick of her when she was on FOX, she is condescending to people and I personally do not like it. While I think everyone deserves a second chance I believe she was given a dozen by Fox, Please Glen, if you want us to follow you..check out women like Libertarian Girl on Facebook and other Libertarian People Dhue was over used and is a has been, don’t pick up all of Fox’s Garbage.

Beck warned us conspiracy theories are for truthers, and birthers.

Oh wait it’s not conspiracy when Beck reports on it. The Tea Party isn’t racist when he supports a candidate.

  Well, FEMA camps do exist, but maybe not evil plans to forcebly detain troublemakers for reeducation. After Katrina, it was pretty obvious that FEMA couldn’t relocate the inhabitants of a major city very efficiently, so they established pre-determined “camps”.
  
  Of course, even if the “camps” were built for fairly benign purposes, it doesn’t keep them from being used by [insert evil power here] as prision camps for troublemakers.

Truth is one could argue we don’t even live in a free country anymore. We live in a “Big Brother” police state control grid that is becoming more restrictive every single day. Most of our politicians seem to be control freaks that are obsessed with running every single little detail of our lives. Our children are being taught to enjoy living as docile slaves in a world where imagination, liberty, freedom and adventure are all greatly discouraged. And the politicians love to give speeches about “liberty” and “freedom”, but they always seem to have excuses to justify the endless parade of liberty-killing laws that they are imposing on all the rest of us. Almost all of the freedoms listed in the Bill of Rights have been severely eroded. We are witnessing an unchecked bureaucratic nightmare slowly attack everything this country was founded upon.   I worked with these types of cameras for years…..They are really about show…..The local police know where the drugs are and they are following them all the time.

I don’t get why anyone who was born in the 70′s forward would be shocked by this. We are living in the information age. Computers have worked their way into damn near everything. You have smart DVD/BluRay players and TV. Soon even your appliances will be online. Our cars cars are going to be AI driven AND also be on the net. It will be a requirement. This all has made it incredibly easy for anyone who knows their way around a network and some coding skill to monitor nearly anyone they like. the government has been able to monitor most communication for a while now. Our demand to easy and quick access to information has been a double edged sword. Thing is most people aren’t aware of that other edge.

If the mainstream media had given us the truth we wouldn’t seek other outlets. They haven’t so we will be inquisitive and critical thinking will continue to lead us. It doesn’t mean we believe it all. But, it does mean that we aren’t blind to the fact that humans are corruptable. Leaders can become Hitler. We want to keep that from happening.

We allowed this police state to be created when the government said we’re going to protect you from ‘terrorists’. The problem is the government is the terrorist protecting itself from us and the war on terror,drugs and poverty is in reality the war on the constitution and bill of rights. Our one party system needs to be dismantled ASAP if we’re ever going to have a chance for any kind of recovery.
