Hot Mic! Who Was Caught Mocking Ted Cruz During His Senate Constitution Remarks?

Republican Senator Ted Cruz must have ruffled a few feathers Thursday morning when he questioned Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s “assault weapons” ban, because during his closing remarks before the Senate Judiciary Committee, someone could be heard on a hot mic mocking his speech — on two occasions.

“My fourth and final point is that the Constitution, in my opinion, should be the touchstone of everything we do,” said Sen. Cruz. “I would point out that every one of us takes an oath to defend the constitution.”

“Thank you for the lecture,” someone can be heard muttering under their breath [at about the 20 second mark]:

Later, while driving home his point, Sen. Cruz said this:

In my view, the Constitution is particularly important when the Bill of Rights is unpopular. That was the entire purpose of the Bill of Rights! When our rights are popular, we don’t need the Constitution.

“I’m tired of these condescending…” seemingly the same person can heard saying, trailing off [at about the 22 second mark]:

As of this writing, it’s unclear who was criticizing Cruz.

However, the voice does sound male and it appears likely it was a senator. Additionally, given a) Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy’s impatience with Sen. Cruz’ speech (the Democrat senator cuts off Cruz toward the end to remind him that he hasn’t been in the Senate for very long) and b) the fact that it’s not uncommon for the chairman’s microphone to be left on, it’s not unlikely Leahy could be the culprit.

    I voted for Cruz but almost voted for Dewhurst. I sure made the right decision. Dewhurst would never, I mean never had stood up like Cruz.

    Since the Leahys and Feinsteins of this world think like 3rd graders (it’s all about feelings, facts and logic are irrelevant), that’s the level of question they need to be asked. The phrase “shall not be infringed” has a pretty clear meaning. People like Feinstein would prefer to ignore it. Cruz’s questions showed her contradictory and illogical view of amendment 2 versus the others in the Bill of Rights. Feinstein wants to take away our guns, but she has a concealed carry permit. Will she give it up?

    Cruz is one of a hand full making sense. If Republicans are the stupid party..what do you call a party that rewards illegal activity or encourages women to murder their children or the party that is overtly racists towards people of color who do not live on their plantation? You would call them Democrats…the party of welfare cheats and poverty pimps. The so called Stupid Party was driven out of the inner city…..so intelligence gets you what….. Detroit? Chicago? New York? You can keep that brand of intelligence. I will keep the constitutional scholars like Cruz.

    Since Feinstein is representing a state drowning in debt, and Cruz is representing one completely on the rise, maybe some reflection that Cruz and the Reds may be right about everything, including 2A rights, is what is needed.

    excuse me, but if you listened to the question about the use of drones, you should have heard what he asked because it is available ON TAPE : does the government, with NO warrant , and NO current or imminent engagement in a destructive act, have the right to take out an American Citizen on American soil? If the government cannot give an unequivical NO to that Question, then we are NOW living in a tyrannical dictatorship

    You sir have completely missed Cruz’ point about drone use in the U.S. and through the course of your post have removed all doubt regarding your intellectual prowess.

    Actually I like seeing the liberals squirm when they are unable to answer a 3rd grade question. When a 3rd grader asks me a question a response with a direct answer yet liberals seem to be unable to give direct answers to Cruz’ so called “3rd grade questions”. So who does that really reflect more poorly on, the one asking a 3rd grade question or the one who can’t answer a 3rd grade question?

      They were nice enough to spell out the problems with the government. ‘we have been here a very long time” < EXACTLY…. it's time for TERM LIMITS, these idiots actually think they are blue bloods when they are just fat old people that have pre-paid body guards and want to dictate to us that we have to give up our guns.
      I got an idea, they give up their protection, no secret service, no bullet proof cars, no special planes (they must fly coach or whatever they pay for) no security beyond what a normal event, say a concert, would get. I mean, if its so safe out there that they can take away our only way to protect ourselves then they shouldn't mind giveing up all of their bullet proof stuff, 24 hour armed security etc…
      put your money where your mouth is…OOPS, that would mean you would have to shove it up Obama's or your ass because all you liberals do is talk ****

      This is what you must know:

      The Senate is a PRIVATE COMPANY !!!!

      Phone:

      Years in Business
      226

      http://www.manta.com/c/mm4qj5k/senate-united-states

      Richard Timmons covered up this company profile by updating it.

      It used to read:
      The Senate, United States in Washington, DC is a PRIVATE COMPANY categorized under Government Offices-US . Our records show it was established in and incorporated in District of Columbia. Register for free to see additional information such as annual revenue and employment figures.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      No one has covered this one up… yet. Make a print of it, as hard evidence.
      All of our Government agencies and “employees” are private companies. WTF ????
      NEWTOWNS-THIRD-LAW, Are you serious? What the heck does seniority have to do with Senator Cruz’s right to speak and vote. He was selected by his state and he has as much right to express his views as the oldest turd in the senate. The qualifications, by the way, do not even include a high school education, to be a senator. Cruz has argued cases before the Supreme court and won. Fienstein is an expert on pork barrel spending and stealing our rights. W need more smart people and fewer smart asses in our government.
      Ted Cruz’s question was a bit simplistic and overbroad (of COURSE there are practical limitations to every right set forth in the Bill of Rights), but Feinstein’s attempt to equate the removal of child pornography (a product that cannot exist BUT FOR a heinous crime) and an assault rifle (a product that exists for the preservation of ALL the other provisions of the Bill of Rights — but which has the POTENTIAL for terrible harm) shows that she is intellectually in way over her head.
