Stunning Footage Shows Acrobat’s Nightmare Accident After Safety Net Fails

Crowds at a circus show in Moscow screamed when a Kenyan acrobat fell through a safety net during his performance this week. Amazingly though, not only was the acrobat conscious when emergency responders took him to the hospital, but he only had fractured one vertebra.

An amateur video of the accident aired on Russian television, showing 22-year-old Karo Christopher Kazungu diving from a height of 85 feet, hitting the net, going through it and landing on the arena floor during the Wednesday evening show.

Circus employees are speculating on whether someone may have tampered with the net or whether it was faulty. But Edgard Zapashny, director general of the Great Moscow State Circus, said that they did not see any signs of sabotage on first inspection of the net.

There’s a fiscal lesson to be learned here. Safety nets can fail, and they also can be sabotaged.

I’d say the net still saved his life. I’m sure it took 90% or more of his momentum and while it obviously wasn’t a soft landing, it became survivable.

Things fail, it doesn’t have to be sabotage or faulty.

Well….we all know from our experience with Kenyans in this county that they are pretty slippery, slimey people. He probably slipped through the net like water through a sieve.

And … speaking of Kenyans and “safety” (sorry, I just had to do it) …

… at obama’s lunch meeting with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill, the president was not able to eat since his “taster” was not present.
