‘Terror’: Israeli Baby in Critical Condition After Palestinians Reportedly Throw Rocks at Jewish Vehicles
JERUSALEM (TheBlaze/AP) — The Israeli military says it has arrested 10 Palestinians suspected of throwing rocks at Israeli cars and causing a crash that badly injured a 2-year-old Israeli baby.
The car crash took place Thursday near the West Bank settlement of Ariel. The army said in a statement that it considers the rock throwing as “terror.”
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says an Israeli mother driving her three daughters crashed at the time of the rock throwing. He said the police assume the rocks caused the crash, but are still investigating. Hospital officials say the Israeli infant is in critical condition.
Below, see footage from the scene:
Algemeiner has additional details:
According to Tazpit News Agency, a serious traffic collision took place at the Gitai Avisar junction, near Ariel in Samaria in what appeared to be the result of rock throwing by a group of Arabs. According to eye witnesses, Arabs throwing rocks were able to strike a bus on the road, as well as a passing truck, lightly injuring both drivers. The truck driver was subsequently forced to pull over and a car that followed was also struck by the rocks. The car’s driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the parked truck, around 6:30 p.m.
The family inside the car was seriously injured in the crash, with the mother suffering serious injuries. The mother’s two-year-old girl was left in critical condition, while her other two daughters, ages 4 and 6, suffered moderate injuries.
In an interview with Arutz Sheva, a paramedic named Yonatan explained the incident in detail.
“The accident apparently took place because a truck stopped at the side of the road due to the rock attacks, and the private vehicle hit the truck for reasons that are not yet known,” explained the medical professional. ”A mother and her daughters, including a year-old baby, were trapped in the private vehicle. We provided treatment and after a protracted extrication, MDA and IDF teams evacuated them to the hospital, with the year-old baby’s condition being termed critical.”
Police are on high alert Friday for demonstrations by Muslim worshippers at a holy site in Jerusalem.

One of your fellow anti-Israel propagandists once posted a link to a site comparing the casualties among children for both sides. However, by tracing the data back to its source, I found out what the site posting the data left out. For one, neither site bothered going back more than 12 years but more importantly, the original source included the names, ages, and cause and date of death. And here’s where things got interesting because the vast majority of these children, over 65%, all falling between the ages of 12 and 17, were listed as having died at “demonstrations”. Other deaths Israel was blamed for included those who died of illness after being denied access to Israeli hospitals. There were even instances of a Palestinian child being hit by an Israeli car, a tragedy to be sure, but an accident nonetheless.
Palestinian casualties are high, but the main reason is the location of the combat, which Hamas is careful to locate in populated areas. I’m sure we killed many German civilians when bombing Berlin in WWII.

Many, many Israelis carry, and soldiers on leave keep their military weapons, with loaded clips, on them at all times. This reduces the kind of attacks that can be stopped by someone with a weapon, but when you’re driving on a highway, and someone on a ridge above you, who you cannot see, lobs a large rock at your car, there’s not much good your weapon can do. By the time you pull over and grab your weapon, the attacker has run back to his village.

They teach their young to hate and murder, using them in homicide bombings, along with women and the mentally ill. If you don’t understand this, do the research. A maimed or dead Jewish child means nothing to them. They only care about their false prophet and fake religion.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 11:16am@tothepoint. Your opening sentence should begin with the word “Propaganga”, instead of “History”. Even though I really don’t like Arabs or Zmuslims, and get no joy to be seen as defending them, but I must ask you this. What about our country sending boys to die overseas for what our old men in charge believe in. In many of American wars, teenagers, from 13 years old on up, enlisted to fight. Where were their parents? Do you think the parents didn’t care about their kids?
And the homicide bomber point you made is valid, but desperation and lack of real accurate missiles do give that situation a slightly different perspective(where there’s a will there’s a way, so to say) But there hasn’t been any homicide bombings in years, and definitely the violence is not as bad as we remember in the late 90′s to the mid 2000, so the majority of Palestinians must have realized that violent acts of desperation(homicide/suicide bombing) will not bring them to statehood. Obviously neither will rock throwing because through massive experience, the Palestinians are professional rock throwers who can hit Israeli soldiers and babies in moving cars from a half mile away… Maybe the UN should have an urgent meeting about this situation, and send in UN troops to Palestine to gather up all the rocks and stones….I still think they should have an Israeli/Palestinian rock throwing league.

Ever wonder why suicide bombings are less common now? The answer is the security fence Israel built. Since building that fence the number of terrorist attacks on Israelis dropped by almost 90%. But of course you would have us tear down that fence.

As I’ve already mentioned, the real cause of the decreased suicide bombings is due to Israeli security forces not a change in Palestinian perspective. But more importantly, as you have admitted suicide bombings are easier to target than cheap rockets. You’d think that might mean that, were their dispute with the government and military, that those would be primary targets. Yet who did the bombers pick on? Civilians. They targeted public buses, open air markets, hospitals (which treated Palestinians), night clubs, restaurants, and even school buses. Israel at least tries to avoid civilians but these terrorists actively target them.
You also suggested that, had these rock-throwers know about the infant, they would have spared the car. I’m not convinced a giant “Baby on Board” sign would have deterred even one of them. Talk about not relying on facts

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 12:44pm@Shaman – The Arab-Israeli dispute has never been about borders, settlements or a “Palestinian” state. It is now, and always has been, about the survival or destruction of the Jewish state in the ancestral Jewish homeland of the Land of Israel. Are you familiar with Arafat’s “phased plan”, Shaman? Are you aware that Abbas has publicly endorsed that plan? Are you aware of what the Hamas charter says about Israel? Do you know what Sadat’s phrase “peace as a strategic option” actually means, Shaman? If you understand these things, then you agree that the Jewish state has no right to exist, ought to be destoyed, and Jews unwilling to leave on their own ought to be killed. If you are unaware of these critical issues, you have no business pontificating on how to solve the conflict.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 12:48pmI don’t need to see the fence (90% of the wall in actually an electronic fence) taken down to prove that it works. On that it seems we might actually agree. Moreover, I would be more than happy to them given a state because that would put an end to issue and the headache. But a two state solution, by definition, must actually solve the dispute. When I see PA officials calling for the eviction if Jews from their intended state, I have to question their desire to end the conflict. Are they actually saying that Jews won’t be granted citizenship in a Palestinian state? How is that going to help? Or are they more concerned with revenge than with peace?

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 1:04pm@bondmanphil. If Israel WEREN’T a nuclear power, a top 7 military power, a number 1 or close second in intelligence gathering, you’d have a point. Israel can protect herself from the Palestinians; the entire Muslim world maybe not, but we in the US would not let Israel be destroyed. It’s that simple. The real reason Israel doesn’t want a Palestinian state is demographics. Israel is against right of return for Palestinian refugees, and they’re afraid that Arabs will be a majority of their own population in Israel eventually. These are understandable worries for Israel, but to make the Palestinian babies and youth suffer while the politicians in Israel stall and pretend to have a plan for a Palestinian state is cruel. Surely when Israel was founded, it was obvious their neighbors would be Arab Muslims. Now that Israel has the upper hand, they need to at least give the Palestinians the dignity of recognition and sovereignty of a state. Then if the Palestinians still act up, declare war on their country and teach them they shouldn’t quarrel with their neighbors. They should trade with them, like Israel does Egypt.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 1:50pm@Shaman: That is what Israel is doing, Shaman, defending itself against Palestinian Arab attackers. To say that because they are a nuclear power and therefor must accept terror attacks as an unfortunate fact of life, and not try to stop them, is foolishness. Are you aware that for every terror attack successfully launched against Israel some 50 are difused prior to execution? But not responding to Arab attacks is a sure way to encourage more and larger attacks. Many Israelis don’t want a Palestinian state for demographic reasons, but there are other reasons: 1. Judea and Samaria are part of the Land of Israel, the Jewish ancestral homeland, and were never part of any Arab-ruled nation. 2. Israelis know that another Arab state, carved out of Israel’s belly, will be little more than yet another base of operations for forces dedicated to destroying Israel. 3. The “right of return” is a canard. The UN only considers as refugees the refugees and their children. Most of the 1948 refugees by this definition are dead. Israel does not accept the “special refugee” designation afforded only to Palestinian Arab grandchildren. The Arabs are free to settle in any of the 22 Arab-Muslim states if those states would have them. That they don’t is not Israel’s problem. The sovereign Palestinian state is Jordan, where the majority is Palestinian, not the Land of Israel.

I did say that Israel can crush the Palestinians at any given moment. It really isn’t a matter of “security” that is keeping them from letting the Palestinians have a state. It is the demographics issue that you so eloquently explained in you 1:50pm message. My question is then. Why is Israel pretending to be open to a Palestinian state when it really doesn’t want that to happen for reasons you gave. The Jooz got Israel back after more than 1500 years. So you’re telling me that 1,000 years from now, Native Americans will be able to claim ancestral ownership to the USA, and kick out everybody else? Posted on March 15, 2013 at 10:28amYou are probably unaware that one of the favorite ploys of the Palestinians is to use their women and children as shields. They love to locate their missile launchers in Hospitals, Schools, Mosques and other areas where the public congregates. That way is a woman or chils is killed, they can parade the body around and blame Israel.
To the Palestinians, terrorists to the core, women and especially children are nothing but pawns, to be used for major political advantage. Women are more than willing to sacrifice their children for the cause. This is a sickness almost unimaginable to Americans and other civilized people. This thinking is more barbaric than the stone age cave dwellers philosophy. They would like nothing more than to have a group of children aged 8 to 14, armed to the teeth, charging a group of Israeli forces and forcing the Israeli soldiers to defend themselves. As I said lots of times, I could care less if the Israelis and Palestinians bomb each other into oblivion. But as as long as our media in the US won’t drop the story, from my independent perspective, Israel is not as innocent as our media portrays it to be, and the Palestinians aren’t as bad as they all are portrayed to be. There is middle ground that is not being met. By our media and US politicians, and that is why no peace deal has ever been made. If both sides accept that there will probably never be a day without some sort of incident, then they could make a deal. But if anybody’s memory can recall, every time a deal on a Palestinian state was almost made, there was always some sort of incident to prevent it. And anyone who honestly looks at the situation realizes that the real decision on a Palestinian state is in ISRAELI hands. Israel is a nuclear power, let alone a world military powerhouse, and relatively economically stable. Anybody with a brain should be able to realize the Palestinians want their own country just like Jews did in 48′, and we in America in 1776. If given a state, the Palestinians would benefit(Israelis don’t seem to want it) from exposure to the world economy, etc, but also, but then take concrete steps to curb violence(stone throwing etc) towards their neighbor. Bloomberg, the mayor, is pro-Israel for political reasons. His news service, which I read all day at work, is hardly biased in favor of Israel. Soros is the prototypical self-hating Jew, who helped his dad point out the Jews in his town in Europe so they could be rounded up. Hollywood is horrible for Israel almost every chance it gets. Posted on March 15, 2013 at 2:02pmYou think the media is biased in favor of Israel? Is that why every wounded Arab gets a huge photo in US papers while you rarely hear about Israeli victims? Is that why the MSM thinks that Arabs who target schoolchildren are the same thing as an Israeli soldier who tries to prevent that attack? Sometimes, Shaman, the media cannot succeed in tarnishing Israel despite its best efforts, because the facts so overwhelmingly highlight the gulf between Israel’s decency and the Arabs’ evil. But to you, everything must be morally equivalent, so there must be “good” Palestinian Arabs and “bad” Jews. Guess what? There were good Germans in the 1930s, too, but that was small comfort to the six million dead Jews. These good Arabs elected Hamas, and in a poll, 80% feel attacking Israel is justified. So your attempt at being “evenhanded” fails completely. There is a good side and a bad side in this conflict, Shaman. The good side wants to live in peace in its ancestral homeland. The bad side wants to destroy that homeland, kill its inhabitants, and steal their land. Hamas wants to do it in one shot, Fatah will accept a phased elimination of Israel and its Jews. Nothing equivalent about the two sides of this conflict at all.

I wonder what you would say if Mexico was firing rockets into Texas. Would you demand American restraint? Limiting our repsonse to a proportional one? But when it does, Israel will do what it must to disable and disrupt Hamas’ ability to attack Israel. That’s what self-defense is all about, Shaman. The kids are innocent? Have you seen their summer camps? Their textbooks? Their children’s television shows? Palestinian Arab children lose their innocense about the time they learn to walk and talk, Shaman. Most if not all of the crappy rocket factories have even destroyed by Israel anyways. And you still must be missing my whole point on the Palestinian state. You actually think by not giving Palestinians a state, they will learn a lesson or something(what if the colonists in early America laid down their arms?) If they(Palestinians)are given a state, they will be held to a higher standard to curb violence, because they won’t have anymore excuses. I’m not saying all sources online are honest, or truthful, but you can find the truth if you dig and research, and sometimes read between the lines and use COMMON SENSE. Or when you read an article or watch a movie or show, read the credits and see who produced, wrote the show and you get insight into why they wanted that particular story to be heard, or on the other side of the coin, why they DIDN’T want a certain part. Or moral to the story, to be heard.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 11:32amSeems I didn’t make myself clear. I wasn’t speaking of different perspectives, but rather contradictory accounts on what happened that cannot be reconciled. For example, on YouTube I could find at least five differing, irreconcilable “truther” stories about what really happened on 9/11.
Simply put, Palestinians have staged propaganda photos and videos before now and even if you found a genuine incident, which certainly exist, no video is likely to explain if the teenagers in question were ever charged nor are they likely to show how Israelis in general respond.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 12:43pm@theshabbycarnac “Hannibal was white,Greek”. LOL you uneducated dimwit Hannbal Barca was Black(father) and Spanish(mother). His father Hasdrubal was Black African who as a Carthaginian general and leader of a very prominent family, conquered Spain, where Hannibal was born. Carthage was a part of ancient(black mediterraneans) Phoenicia. The Barca family and Carthage had many bloody struggles against the Roman Empire that saw Hannibal arch elephants over the Alps to crush Roman units over and over again. Hannibal never lost a battle, never took Rome(big mistake)and he instead made peace ad died of old age in Carthage(190 bc). Then some point not too long(50-80 years) after Hannibals death, the peace deal with the Romans and Carthage was broken, and Carthage was destroyed by Rome; men killed, women and children sold into slavery, and razed to the ground. The Romans did rebuild Carthage years later itch Roman and Greek architecture. But just like with Ancient Egypt, the Greeks and Romans came in on the tail end and conquered, but they did not found, or dominate the culture of Carthage or ancient Egypt. If Hannibal The Great Barca was really white, you know darn well Hollywood would have jumped all over the movie. Instead, they made the name Hannibal synonymous with a white weirdo. FYI Barcelona in Spain is named father the Barca family, Latin and Greek is derived from Phoenician(akaCarthage, Punic) alphabet and language. Class dismissed

I was hoping for once, that ALL here will agree without turning it around and saying the Israeli’s ‘were the perpetrators.’

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 8:17amWhere’s your sadness for the thousands of Palestinian kids injured by Israelis? There are many Israeli “stone throwers” also. Go look on YouTube at the teenage Israeli population(especially the orthodox Jooz). These jooish teenagers have been caught on film spitting on Christians and tourists, as well as stoning and beating Arabs. The ignorance and violence and at times, utter inhumanity, is prevalent on BOTH sides. and FYI, He’ll no I don’t support Palestinians injuring innocent babies in Israel. The perpetrator should be stoned himself in my humble opinion…

THOUSANDS of Palestinian children? Really? Are you sure you haven’t exaggerated that number. Here’s some real figures: During the most recent round of Israeli military strikes against Hamas, in which over a thousand, yes thousand, targets were hit, the total number of Palestinian deaths numbered just over one hundred and over half of those were Hamas terrorists. Then of course there’s the fact that some of Hamas’ rockets killed their own people.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 9:51amTzion. You know when I say thousands of children, I mean over the years. Just like deep inside you know the point I trying to make. Whenever Palestinian kids get injured, it is always portrayed by our media that somehow the Palestinian kids had it coming because they lived in the home with their parents. Klling by either side is wrong, but it is more wrong how Israelis and their euro Jooish counterparts in the US media sensationalize every bad act a Palestinian does to an Israeli, as if the Israeli population has no bad actors, deviant young soldiers, and other criminals who taunt and “terrorize” innocent Palestinians. I know you are smart enough to see the propaganda being displayed. Just the other day I told you about how Israelis love using “stone throwing” incidents to deny(and promote support against) Palestinian statehood. I’d bet the majority of Palestinians just want a normal life like normal Israelis do. But I’m not going to keep listening to one sided(Israeli) propaganda and seeing the same cycle over and over again and play dumb. You can if you want. You can be sure that on the same day as that stone throwing incident, somewhere else in Israel or Palestine, it was an Israeli busting the head of a Palestinian. But our media doesn’t want you to hear those stories. Why not? Is it because western media is run by European American Jooz? They couldn’t possibly be biased(when it comes to Israel/Palestine)right? Gimme a break tzion.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 10:31am@ofass. Why do you keep saying I am excited or support the Palestinians throwing the stone and the Israeli kid getting injured. I do not support any violence from either side, let alone on innocent harmless, beautiful children. If anyone should be off limits and out of bounds, surely it must be children. I was just making an observation. The headline made it seem like the stone actually hit the 2 year old kid, but upon reading the story, the car crashed injuring the kid. It’s important because the stone thrower may not have realized a baby was in the vehicle; still not an excuse to throw rocks at Israeli cars, but knowing the Palestinian didn’t target the child is important to the story. As I said, when I read the headline, I thought the baby had got hit in the face with the rock or something like that.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 12:30pmSo you’ll focus on long term casualties while ignoring how thousands of Palestinians perished in a one month period in Jordan? Seems like one-sided propaganda to me. Besides, you didn’t say what your timeframe was, a misleading tactic of propagandists. A thousand casualties in almost 70 years has a very different sound than “thousands killed or maimed”. I’d say your oversight was by design.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 1:18pm@tzion. Of course I care about the Palestinians killed in Jordan, but why didn’t the US or Israel invade or at least bomb Jordan to stop the murders if they really cared? As for my years, sheesh tzion, just take from 1998 on up til now,and the members of Israeli to Palestinian deaths and injuries are lopsided. The advantage in technology makes the battle, really not a battle. It’s more like someone going on a rampage against flies with a fly shatter. Israel has bigger fish to fry than to worry about stone throwing Palestinians. A military as capable as their should not continue to play cat and mouse with a worn out, tired, pretty much helpless, defenseless mouse(Palestinians). The intellectuals in Israel must prevail, and the Palestinian state must be allowed to emerge. Any violence from a Palestinian state will not be tolerated, and the Palestinians probably wouldn’t want to go back to being sanctioned(seeing as how they’ve been under sanctions for the past 10 years), unable to participate in the global market or travel freely in and out of their territory. Give them(Palestine) their state and flood their skies with drones if you have to.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 1:40pm@Shaman – It’s wonderful of you to see a critically wounded 2 year old girl as too small of a fish to fry for Israel. I hope your 2 year old daughter is never attacked. This conflict is anything but morally equivalent, and it is not at all about the number of casualties on either side. It’s a war. If you don’t kill your enemies, they will kill you. War is not proportional; it is, especially in this case, asymetrical. The IDF goes to heroic efforts to avoid Arab civilian casualties, even putting troops on the ground when an air attack would accomplish the mission without exposing ground troops to booby-traps and ambushes. It’s even more difficult since, in violation of Geneva conventions, the Palestinian combatants don’t wear uniforms, enlist children, targets civilians and employ human shields in their war efforts. Israel, of course, uses none of these methods. Considering how differently these two sides prosecute this war, it is unreasonable to expect even casualties on both sides, whether in numbers or civilian vs. military casualties. Finally, Shaman, here’s a simple way to avoid any further deahts of your precious Palestinian Arab children, as well as the adults: Just stop attacking Israel. I guarantee that if the Arabs stop attacking Israeli soldiers and civilians, not one single Arab will be intentionally harmed. The Israelis, OTOH, have repeatedly refrained from military action in the name of “restraint”, only to suffer new attacks.

If they want true peace they could have already achieved it by nonviolent means. Instead of wasting money on rockets and bombs they should build community centers. True Peace thru True Love
