Woman to 911: Please Send Officer to ‘Scare the Sh** Out of My Kids’ … Police to Woman: Welcome to Jail
A Brevard County, Florida, woman was arrested on Tuesday after she called 911 to make an odd request: “I need a police officer to come out and scare the sh** out of my kids.”
The woman, 27-year-old Melissa Townsend, called police after her kids, aged 1 and 3, apparently weren’t listening to her.
WKMG-TV has the full remarks and the dispatcher’s response:
“I need a police officer to come out and scare the (expletive) out of my kids,” Townsend said on the 911 call.Β “They’re not listening to me and they need to learn respect.Β They need to learn that lesson.”
The dispatcher told the upset mother that police would not do what she asked.
“We don’t come out and scare kids,” the dispatcher said.
Police did end up responding, but not to scare the kids. They wanted to teachβ her βa lesson about the proper use of 911. When they arrived, she was drunk. And when they tried to arrest her, she kicked them.
She was taken in on multiple charges, including child neglect and battery on a law enforcement officer.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isnβt really about controlling guns at all; itβs about controlling us. Slave mentality much from TheBlaze posters here?
So-o-o-o, when they come for YOU (that’s right, they will INVENT any law to come after you), the question will still be — How’s that whole Police-(standing army)-Department thingy working out for everyone? America’s Founders lived it, greatly feared it, and warned us of it … so we are without excuse.

As for her being drunk – where is the proof? The cops say she was drunk. Cops say she kicked them. Cops lie. And then lie some more. But all you “law and order” conservatives just worship anyone in gubment uniform and believe whatever they say.

What I think is that this woman was obviously overwhelmed and was asking for help, although certainly not appropriately, but instead of getting help they put her into the criminal “justice” system. Jail was not the answer here. That is why calling the cops is never the answer.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 12:20pmI hate police as much as the next guy, but this woman was drunk and had to care for two small kids. She could have called a friend or relative, but she didn’t. None of what she did was even remotely responsible. What if one of the kids were injured and had to be brought to the hospital? I have two boys and there were trips to the ER for stitches and broken bones. Was she going to drive drunk? Bottom line, what she was doing was a criminal and required intervention for the safety of the kids. It is not OK to be drunk and responsible for the care of your children. It is not OK to think that calling the police to come and discipline your kids. This is not a matter of poor judgement, this is criminal. Her kids should be removed and she should go to counseling.
I cannot believe some here who do not see this as criminal. Do the kids have to die before you call the cops? The woman’s idiocy probably saved the kids a lot of grief in the long run.

Yes, I’ve met some terrible cops, but I’ve also met some really nice respectful and helpful cops. Their job sucks. Because there was reasonable suspicion that these kids were in danger, they had to go into this house and confront this woman. It’s obvious from the transcript that she was acting erratically. It is a terrible thing to have to take a mom away from her kids, but you can’t leave the kids under the care of a completely wasted nutcase. Arresting her was the only way to make sure that she goes to counseling, which is probably what the judge will sentence her to. I just hope that she gets a handle on things. But all of you out there who want to tear into the cops for doing what they had to do, really need to reevaluate why you have so much hatred in your hearts.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 11:30amAbsolutely. Lord, if the woman was drunk, get the parent’s telephone number and/or get a social worker over there to help her with the kids and then get some help for this woman. She needs to be evaluated and get therapy to overcome the alcoholism. In the meantime, possibly her mother and dad could help her out till she gets help. Sending her to prison, giving her a prison record is not the way. Again, these police are not very intelligent to do what they did. She is NOT a CRIMINAL for God’s Sake! I told you, in more cases than not, these police make these insane decisions instead of helping the person.

Posted on March 15, 2013 at 10:52amactually, FIGHTBACK (ironic name considering you are obviously one of the sheep that is not about to “fight back”), the MAJORITY of police officers all over the country are power drunk, pencil d!cked, bullies that failed at everything at life and then became an “officer of the law” in order to have power over people…
just TWO DAYS AGO, I was driving home from work and a guy was tailgating me because I don’t speed in a company vehicle (ticket = fired). He then RAMMED my car TWICE before we pulled over to a stop. I got out of my vehicle and the man jumped out of his…without me saying ONE WORD to the man, he pulled out his registered pistol and put it right in my face, telling me repeatedly he would kill me.
I called the cops, but when they arrived, they laughed and joked with him for 10 minutes…then GAVE HIM BACK HIS GUN AND LET HIM LEAVE! Then they harassed me for a few minutes, threatened to handcuff me if I didn’t “shut my mouth right now”, and I left.
