Madonna Chastises Boy Scouts Over Stance on Gays During GLAAD Awards…While Wearing This Bizarre Outfit

NEW YORK (TheBlaze/AP) — Wearing a replica of one of the organization’s uniforms, Madonna called on the Boy Scouts to lift its ban on gays while also calling for a “revolution” to prevent discrimination and abuse of the gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual community.

Speaking Saturday night at the GLAAD Media Awards, Madonna started off in a mischievous mood. She joked that she wanted to become a part of the Boy Scouts herself, but was turned down, even though she had the qualifications.

“I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent,” said Madonna, sporting a Boy Scouts troop leader hat and a blue shirt and shorts set that included replicas of Boy Scout badges.

“I can rescue kittens from trees. Most importantly, I know how to scout for boys,” she said, before adding, “I think they should change their stupid rules.”

The Boy Scouts of America does not permit openly gay people to serve in the organization — a decision that has come under increasing fire over the years.

Later, she got serious as she talked about the conflicts in the world and of the bullying of young gay, lesbian and transgender people.

“When I think about young kids in America who are being bullied and tortured, who are taking their own lives because they feel alone and judged, outcast and misunderstood, I want to sit down and cry a river of tears,” Madonna said.

Noting that she has teenagers herself, she said, “It’s an atrocity to me, I don’t accept it.”

Later she said, “I don’t know about you, but I can’t take this (expletive) anymore. That is why I want to start a revolution. It’s 2013 people. We live in America, land of the free and home of the brave? That’s a question, not a statement.”

Madonna was on hand to give the Vito Russo Award to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. She lauded Cooper for standing up for the rights of others.

Also honored by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation was the NBC musical series “Smash,” the documentary “How To Survive a Plague,” and “The Amazing Race.” Brett Ratner was also given the Ally Award — a turnaround from 2011, when the organization condemned the director for using an anti-gay slur, and he stepped down from a plan to direct the 2012 Academy Awards in the ensuing controversy.

Since then, Ratner has worked with the organization and made a public service announcement to promote equality.

The sad fact is, on top of what she says and lifestyle she lives…she effects the life of a child, being a mom.
I pray her child has a chance to get proper instruction and moral standing in their life. God willing.

That’s just it Madonna… As a parent of two boys – Most importantly, I don’t want Boy Scout Leaders who ”know how to scout for boys”. They should keep the rules the same. You’re the one who is stupid.

First of all what air head would give a rats **** what Madonna thinks about anything? She’s too old to be a boy scout, she doesn’t support the boy scouts, and she’s the wrong gender to join anyways. So, who the hell cares about her opinion and he support for the gays. Fine, she supports gays…… And just equally as fine I DON”T… When are people going to stop worrying about what the stars opinions are and look in their own hearts for their stance on the issues? Geeeeeeze, doesn’t anybody have an individual mind anymore?

Being a religious organization, the Boy Scouts should have the right to their beliefs. If the Catholic Church had been stronger and banned Pedophiles from being priests, they would have been far better off than to protect those that prey on the young.

  High School, ever since Blacks were given preference over whites in hiring, whites have been overlooked for promotion simply because of the color of their skin. Its not right either way. Black, brown, white or green and purple should all get equal opportunities. Nothing should be based on color or sex or anything but character and ability.

True media took my words when I saw this article. She irrelevant. Who cares what Madonna has to say. For that matter any Hollywood actor or singer. They are paid to entertain. If their movie or record sells then they did their job. I don’t understand people following the advice or listening to any of these people. For instance, The View. Whose view? Whoopie? She doesn’t nor do any of them live in the real world. They can go to Africa or anywhere else and come back to tell us what we must do to help while they live in their mansions and eat like royalty. If Madonna is so concerned she can afford the money to create her own scouting program that can abide by the rules she makes.

Let’s see, do I want to live in a world with Madonna’s values (or lack there of) or with the Boy Scout values? Easy choice – a moral world of Boy Scouts.

I wonder why libs like Madonna are so intolerant of the views and beliefs of others. Madonna, start your own “Do it if it feels good” organization and leave us alone.
