Shocking Vid Shows St. Patrick’s Day College Festivities Turn Into Full-Scale Riot

St. Patrick’s Day festivities at the University of Dayton in Ohio Saturday night evolved into a full-scale, out-of-control riot involving more than 1,000 people, the Dayton Daily News reports.Β  Police from 10 jurisdictions were forced to to head to the institution of higher learning to tackle the issue, finding students dancing on cars and throwing an inordinate number of beer bottles.

The Dayton Daily News has all the information:

After more than two decades without a major St. Patrick’s Day incident, the university had a violent β€œdisturbance” that left broken beer bottles and 11 damaged cars, including a police cruiser, on Kiefaber Street, according to a university official.

[...]

University of Dayton Police were dispatched sometime between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. in response to a fire alarm, Rizvi said. When officers arrived, they were met by a large crowd who threw bottles at them. University police called the Dayton Police Department for assistance.

The Miami Valley Regional Dispatch Center received a call around 4:44 a.m. related to a large crowd throwing glass bottles. Shortly before 5a.m., police from law enforcement agencies in Dayton; Five Rivers Metro Park; Huber Heights; Kettering; Miami Twp.; Montgomery County; Moraine; Oakwood, Riverside; Trotwood and Vandalia responded to the 400 block of Kiefaber Street near Lawnview Avenue.

No injuries were reported, but an individual not affiliated with the university was arrested and is expected to charged with underage drinking and public intoxication, said Rizvi.

β€œWe weren’t out there trying to cause trouble,” said Matt Kolb, a 19-year-old UD student. β€œWe were out there trying to have fun. The cops caused the crowd to go a little bit bananas.”  [Emphasis added]

The university suffered no lasting damage, but was forced to alter its scheduled activities Sunday.

“Out of concern for safety, large non-University-sponsored gatherings will not be permitted today,” the university said in a statement, according to WDTN2. “While the vast majority of students were not involved in this incident, the behavior is unacceptable and disappointing…Students also are expected to comply with our Community Standards of Behavior, and will be held accountable for non-compliance.”

The website “Total Frat Move” even concluded: “I never understood the whole rioting thing, which typically involves destroying the place or area where you live, but I guess it’s like an unstoppable snowball of bad decisions and heightened emotions, and people feeding off each other.”

When the Philadelphia Philles won the World Series in 2008, the same thing happened at West Chester University. Thousands of college students turned over cars, sent on car on fire and tore down light posts. It was awful. This is the generation that will be leading us in the not so far off future. May God have mercy on our country.

Like most holidays in ZOG today, St. Patrick’s Day is actually a leftwing holiday. It celebrates Ireland’s independence from British rule, Catholicism over Protestantism, etc. Personally, I always wear bright orange (the Protestant color) each and every St. Patrick’s Day!

I’m sure if they used tear gas the cops would have been suspended pending review and then, given their “retirement” walking papers when the college of elite theoretical thinkers disagree about using tear gas because it burns the eyes/throat. You can’t make rational decisions today to get an out of control situation under control because on Monday morning you’ve got the college eggheads of theory thinkers talking over their fresh brewed cappuccinos, Monday morning quarterbacking, instead of their asses out there on the front lines with the uncontrollable crowds, and the “elites” are smarter they can come up with a better decision to control the crowds AFTER the “renegades” are asleep in their beds, drunk out of their minds, after burning and destroying cars….maybe they could have held a “town hall” meeting during the riot, let out their grievances, and that would have kept the “drunken” idiots from turning into a bunch of private property destroyers….now if I were the College Prez, I would take the total cost of the riot destruction and bill every student, whether they were there or not, for the cost of the police, the cost of the destruction and the cost of the repair of what took place….therefore, redistribution of destruction, so they can feel what they voted for…and then I’d give them 30 days to pay or their grades will be Incompletes! That will keep another riot from happening because the responsible students will kick the crap out of future rioters

Variations on the “the cops caused it” theme are the same excuse that’s proffered to the media when a teenage celebration gets out of hand over here as well.

All that they demonstrate with this specious and facile rationale is that they have not matured sufficiently to accept the consequences of their own actions.

That said; I remember my teenage years well and I’m not about to suggest that we were much different…

An interesting take on my comment.

How I handle myself today is socially rather boring. I’m a solo father of two small children who is struggling to maintain a small business. As a consequence, I join my friends in the pub about once or twice a year. As I said – socially boring, but the compensations are splendid.

I try to be intellectually honest, so while I’m somewhat contemptuous of the “blame the cops” routine, I require myself to admit that I was also young once and have not lead a blameless life.

      Is that better?

Being a bit older and witnessing the start of this out of control behavior in the 50s-60s, this is an acceleration of how some kids roll today. The police experience less personal injury beating the heads of abortion clinic protestors.

The comment system is designed the way it is to make your comments easily traceable back to you. Just do a Google search of your handle, it’s all right there. Other sites comment areas are not indexed by Google, theblaze however is a completely different story. It’s the design of the comment section here that precipitates this.

Obviously they want the comments here on record, which is fine by me, but people should be aware. I think it’s also why you have to log in all the time, better evidence that it was actually you that posted the comment.
