Is NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg the ‘Most Dangerous Man in America’?

NEW YORK, NY – MARCH 16: New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg shakes hands with members of Irish 58th infantry regiment during the 252nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 16, 2013 in New York City. The parade honors the patron saint of Ireland and was held for the first time in New York on March 17, 1762, 14 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Credit: Getty Images
From his crusades against ear buds, sodium levels in food donations to soup kitchens, big gulps, car idling, baby formula, alcohol, cigarettes, taxis, there may very well be no limits to what New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg seeks to regulate.
On his Monday evening broadcast, Glenn Beck blasted Bloomberg for his increasingly-intrusive Nanny State regulations intended to control just about every aspect of private citizens’ lives.
“We are just forcing you to understand,” Beck quipped before explaining why he believes the mayor’s penchant for condescending to his own constituents is unparalleled.
For Bloomberg, government’s “highest duty” is such intrusion.
According to Forbes, Bloomberg is the 13th richest person in the entire world. With a net worth of $27 billion, the New York mayor may just surpass George Soros in terms of his ability to impact people’s lives with his monetary power and act as if he is “above the law.”
According to Beck, Bloomberg tends not to practice what he preaches:
So is Bloomberg the most dangerous man in America? Beck says yes because his opinions and various crusades — for instance, gun control — are actually impacting Americans all across the country.
Beck took time to review the many ways in which one New York mayor is actually affecting the lives of people who do not live in his state. He marveled at the idea that someone “this arrogant and this rich” can actually silence millions of people.
“This is the progressive disease,” Beck said. “This is not just about Big Gulps.”
Regulation is something that, according to Bloomberg, “has to be forced.” With his crusade to enhance gun control, the mayor is even reaching people as far away as California.
Beck breaks it down below:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Posted on March 20, 2013 at 6:27amWow, Bloomberg is really creepy and a hypocrite. I don’t live in NY so haven’t really followed his career. The world seems to be becoming a scarier and scarier place to me. I used to be afraid of the Russians growing up; now I’m afraid of Soros, Bloomberg, and all the people Obama has/will put in place.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 7:46pmBloomberg the most dangerous man in America? Hardly! While Obama is at large, he owns the title of “most dangerous man in America.”
Bloomberg may be a “nannie,” but I really doubt that he has an innate desire to ruin the United States of America”….Obama has that as his mission in life.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 2:43pmAny idealogical zealot with billions of dollars to blow pushing his way is a danger. Like a political party onto himself, any means to an end; it’s for your own good. Being a progressive along the lines of Animal Farm makes it worse. All hail the State, they define what we need and tell us what we want, all under the guise of best intentions of course… history is full of them, tyrants all.

But this guy is going after large sugary drinks to improve the healthcare of new yorker’s. What an idiot!

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 12:23amImagine when Mayor Bloomberg, or anyone else, can digitally search everything “Google Glass” or for that matter, anything a smart phone records and archives on the internet? The reason for protections against unreasonable searches is that you don’t force yourself into poverty defending yourself from defamation attacks?
Laugh at a joke, get recorded laughing, and suddenly, you have a summons to appear for “mental wellness tests”? This is the slippery slope that demands we say to the Mayor Bloombergs, its none of your business? Concentrate on what you campaigned for, and were elected to do?

Posted on March 18, 2013 at 11:18pmI had the opportunity to attend a CDC meeting in Atlanta. At that meeting, representatives from New York City presented their public health efforts and regulations, particularly in sodium reduction (though they highlighted their successes in calorie and transfat control amongst others). The point is, everything that Bloomberg has regulated so far, I have heard as a CDC initiative first. Money was funneled from the CDC to the New York City Health Department. Then Bloomberg appears on the scene (after a trial run on the regulations is tested in a subset of NYC) wanting to stop all New Yorkers from “harming” themselves. I was too far down the chain to know what the exact connection is, but I feel that there is a benefit from putting an investigative reporter on that connection.
During that meeting, I was the first to raise my hand and say that while New York City may be having success in sodium reduction by implementing regulations, my state will never accept such strategies. Several other representatives from various states raised their hands and agreed. We asked for other effective strategies to reduce sodium without the use of regulation. None was provided. Regulation is the CDC’s number one priority.
In 2009 the New York City Health Department created this ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-F4t8zL6F0c. Later, Bloomberg starts into soda bans. Is this coincidence?
