‘Bullied’ By Atheists? Former SNL Star Takes Heat for Saying He Believes in God, Scriptures
Comedian Norm Macdonald found himself in atheists’ cross-hairs on Monday night after he sent a series of tweets affirming his belief in God and scripture. Non-believers, clearly appalled that he joins the majority in embracing the notion of a higher power, quickly responded to his religiosity with angst and annoyance.

Macdonald, who was once a cast member on “Saturday Night Live,” inevitably deleted the exchanges he had on Twitter, but not before Twitchy documented some of the back-and-forth.
The situation began when on Sunday when the comedian responded to a tweet about the PGA and bible scripture.
“Is the PGA tour becoming the bible club of pro sports norm? Cuz this guy just said on Nat. TV he read scriptures today! Wtf?,” wrote Twitter user sypher1960.
Macdonald responded, “What’s surprising about that? Don’t most people study the scriptures?” and later added, “I think most people study the scriptures. Most people seem smart to me.”
Some atheists, non-believers — and others who rejected these words — responded. Here’s a sampling of a few of the tweets that Macdonald received (caution: language).
As for the latter message, Macdonald responded, writing, “That’s about as stupid a comment as I’ve ever heard.” But at least one other critic of religion got in on the mix, writing, “Religion has also caused more human deaths than any one thing ever.”
Macdonald was less-than-persuaded, responding that heart disease is naturally a bigger killer.
“You cannot be that stupid. It is impossible,” the comedian added. “Must be joking.”

Inevitably, Macdonald ended up removing the posts (perhaps to end the debate that came to fruition). Big Hollywood said that the comedian was “bullied into silence for being religious,” although we can’t be quite sure why he removed the messages (or even if he feels the need to be silent).
Regardless, there are still some tweets in his feed from this month that do, indeed, mention religious themes. In fact, he wrote a message about Pope Francis on March 13 and again on the 16th:
Despite detractors, in the end, the comedian also had his share of supporters. As always, it’s interesting — and disheartening — to see someone take heat simply for saying he or she is religious.
But, as a public figure, Macdonald’s stance gives him more attention and influence than the average citizen — something non-believers likely lament.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 11:50amDefine “beyond comprehension dumb”. You are aware that many atheists used to be pastors, right? I’m not talking about “watered down” pastors, but from “bible believing faiths”. And they didn’t de-convert because they were “mad at god”, but because they were unable to satisfy the requirement of 1 Peter 3:15.
And with other inputs [not going into them here], there is no reason to be influenced by the modern biblical texts.
All this to say, just because you have been convinced, . . . that doesn’t give you the right to pass judgement ["beyond comprehension dumb"] on someone who merely doesn’t agree with your assessment of the topic.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 12:26pmYou will never convince an Atheist that there is anything larger than their own arrogant minds. or their perpetual gazing at their own navels. Or ape poo. Or non existent transitional fossils. Or the HOAX of all the other Darwinian fossils that have been debunked as FRAUDS. You just won’t. Because if you ever did their WHOLE WORLD would CRUMBLE and they won’t let that happen. Just let them believe their lovely FAIRY TALE of APES and BIG BANGS and WE will believe our lovely MYTH of JESUS.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:54amSo to get it straight, Norm tweeted on HIS REGISTERED SITE about God and was forced to delete HIS message from HIS site? I don’t know that social media stuff, but I think it’s pretty bad that a person is forced to take back what is written on their own site.
My belief is that God and Satan are real, and it is Satan’s time to manipulate the young toward hate and wierd sex stuff. I guess the joke is true – If God weren’t real, then exactly why do these people absolutely loose their minds over trying to convince the entire world that there is no God? It is like they have a pitch fork up their butts causing them to devote every waking moment to this, and what it’s actually doing is confirming to Christians that only Satan can cause this much of a ‘hate and wierd sex acts movement’, in the exact time line of the other events in the Bible. Even most atheists will actually say “go to Hell”, which confirms the whole matter more.
I believe in God and the Presbyterian faith. Yes I am one of those “nasty New Zion’s”. I also believe in the History of Kindoms killing for their faith. There is a time to love and a time to fight. I don’t have a bit of problem defending my home as my castle and my faith, be it man – woman – or even a child attacking me. If a 13 year old or grown woman with a filthy mouth gets in my face ‘trying’ to be an adult, they’re going to get knocked their ass like an adult. NO sleep lost.

those of us who do believe. One day, very soon, every knee SHALL bow and every tongue SHALL confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:53amYou said, “If you are stupid enough to say there is no God, that is your business. But how dare you criticize….”.
Why is it okay for YOU to criticize and call names when you denounce it for others? Aren’t you doing the same thing you are angry about others doing?
I have to say “there is no god”. It isn’t an absolute. There may be, but the evidence isn’t with the “god claim”. Why is it “stupid”, when evidence shows a very natural world with no evidence of “the supernatural”? I would call that being honest!

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:38amGod is using Atheist to help Christians. Most Americans know little about Christianity. Most American pastors are weak and watered down. This is causing Christians to take a stand either for or against God. God will lift up a standard against this evil.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:17amAtheists, gays, and liberals in general are quick to put down anyone who disagrees with them with violence and personal attacks, anything that disputes their normality. It reminds me of and Sodom and Gomorrah. I do believe that the world has become so corrupt and immoral that we are very close to Armageddon. These very people will be cast down into the pits of hell. I wonder what they will say as they are falling into the pits. Too late!!!! The anti-christ, obama will be cast down along with his minions.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:12amLet’s be realistic here. There were a few tweats from a few individuals, . . . . and now we have statements on here about “atheists being angry and against anyone who is religious, . . . or wanting to deny anyone their religion”. Most atheists probably wouldn’t say anything about Norm’s world view. I’m not offended by his world view. He’s probably a nice guy.
Sure, I don’t agree with his beliefs, . . . nor do I agree with those same beliefs of those friends/family of mine that I still care about. A few bad apples are what this story is really about.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:04amAnd the beat goes on, I mean haven’t we had enough of this political correct nonsense, I mean why do we give this small minority of atheists the time of day or any press time. Why is it people who don’t believe can always say what they want but when someone invokes the name of God all hell breaks loose. It’s just crazy that we have to be silent because someone doesn’t want to believe or thinks we should just be silent because they feel offended. Move some place else where you can all be miserable together; how about France.

These mush brains dont realize that in a communist overthrow most of them are re education or gulag bound while those of us who can will die in a pile of hot brass. Posted on March 19, 2013 at 10:38amDeavon……. I can give you no evidence except for what is in the Bible, I have felt the power of God during my life time. Some prayers were for help that I needed for someone else or myself and some were small and some were large requests but important things to me. When I received answers in different ways it showed me He was there. Sometimes some of my asking was not what I wanted but what was best. Please don’t give up, my friend……… Why do I think He is with me….it is FAITH.

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 9:59amWhy is it ok to be a muslin or buhdist or hinduist or any other belief system but not a Christians? Why is it ok with athiests to have a belief system of non-belief but they feel a need to somehow crush any word coming from a Christian? How is it that athiests believe it’s ok to use any means available, including violence and filthy threats, to repress Freedom of Religion? Have they become so bold in their tactics as to believe they will not be held responsible for thier actions? Ok, trolls, you may begin….

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 9:59amI might just be spiff balling here but if there wasn’t a God then an atheist couldn’t exist. With that truism in mind exactly what is their goal, oblivion? Is that like a madman pointing a gun at the police? You know, “suicide by cop”? Act crazy these days and you’ll not only soon be lost to this world; you’ll be boldly sent to a place where you never went before. To an atheist death is merely a dirt blanket pulled over a wasted life. I’ll trust in the Lord. Thanks anyway for the path on the Dark Side. I see the Light!
