Formerly Bi-Sexual Singer Stuns Audience With Alleged Anti-Gay Rant: ‘God Hates Fa***ts’

Singer-songwriter Michelle Shocked very literally shocked (pun intended) her audience on Sunday after she launched into what critics are calling an anti-gay tirade. The performer, a born-again Christian who was previously labeled bi-sexual, apparently made some intensely-contentious comments.

According to USA Today, she reportedly told the crowd at Yoshi’s SF, “You can go on Twitter and say, ‘Michelle Shocked says God hates [anti-gay slur].’” Another report in the San Francisco Chronicle claims she said, ”God hates fags and you can tweet that I said so.”

But Inquisitr claims Shocked might have gone much further.

“When they stop Prop 8 and force priests at gunpoint to marry gays, it will be the downfall of civilisation, and Jesus will come back,” she allegedly said. “You are going to leave here and tell people, ‘Michelle Shocked said God hates fa**ots.’”

This account is somewhat different from the USA Today and San Francisco Chronicle renditions of her commentary.

If the latter transcription is accurate, she was predicting how people might react, rather than telling individuals to take to social media to let the world know how she feels about gays. Either way, her alleged words are certainly offensive to many, especially considering her use of a word that is generally considered off-limits.

Here’s how some Twitter users reacted:

Regardless of what was said, the crowd apparently reacted quickly, with some instantly walking out of the venue. The venue’s owner apparently tried to end the show as well, but Inquisitr claims that Shocked continued to perform. In the end, staff cut the lights and allegedly shut her down.

As a result of the incident, another venue that was planning to host the singer for a May 5 performance has cancelled her show. SPACE Club in Evanston, Ill., took to its Facebook page on Monday to make the following announcement:

Many of you have reached out already following an ugly rant given by Michelle Shocked at her show in San Francisco last night. After speaking with the promoter of that show about the nature of the remarks, it’s clear that this is no longer a show we’re willing to put our name on. The May 5th performance at SPACE has been cancelled and refunds will be issued at point of purchase.

And LBGTQ Nation claims that others have followed this lead, with nearly every other venue joining in on canceling the singer:

Update: As of Tuesday morning, nine of the 11 venues remaining on Shocked’s U.S. tour have cancelled her upcoming performances:

HopMonk’s Tavern in Novato, Calif., SPACE in Evanston, Ill., eTown in Boulder, Colo., the Alberta Rose Theatre in Portland, Ore., Meander’s Kitchen in SeattleCozmic in Eugene, Ore., the Palms Playhouse in Winter, Calif., Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, Calif., and McCabe’s in Santa Monica, Calif., have all announced or tweeted cancellations.

A Change.org petition is calling on the two remaining venues to follow suit.

So far, no video or audio has been released, so it’s difficult to discern what, exactly, was said. Regardless, Shocked’s alleged rant is making viral rounds.

They took what she said and twisted it.

She said forcing priests to marry gays will bring about the end times and then she predicted people would go on Twitter and say she said that God hates F@#s. And they did just what she predicted.

And a bunch of you on here are doing the same thing.

Secular figures slam Christians all the time, saying far worse. Yet, they keep right on performing at the same places all the time. This lady predicted the future, it came true, and now she’s being vilified for it.

Exactly: If I predict my words will be mis-quoted and my opinions mis-represented and they subsequently are, does it mean that the (predicted) misrepresentations are accurate? Of course it doesn’t until people believe that is does.

This is the Spin = Truth effect; predict how the Lib media will spin a story and their spin becomes the story and, to many, the truth. No bonus points for predicting their lies, quite the opposite as it turns out..

I’m not a Christian, but I believe in God. I am also re-reading the Old Testament.

It seems pretty clear that God doesn’t like homosexuality. He linked it in Leviticus with incest, polyamory, and adultery. He specifically told the Israelites to avoid all of those behaviors. He specifically told the Israelites the land he was giving to them, he was taking away from others who engaged in those behaviors.

When he wiped out Sodom, he didn’t just wipe out that one town, but several within the area. Remember when Abraham asks “What if I find 10 innocent men? Will you still destroy the area?” God agreed not to destroy it if he could find 10 innocent men, and yet it was destroyed in the end. I guess only 9 innocent men could be found.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in the Bible, feel free to look at it from the perspective of Nature and even the bogus “science” of Evolution. You can’t tell me that homosexuality is an evolutionary trait, as that trait paves the path to a species’ destruction.

Thus, if you believe in Evolution, you must believe that homosexuality is a choice. That’s the only rational explanation for the behavior. If you can somehow convince yourself that homosexuality is inherited, then you must believe it’s a genetic weakness, as it doesn’t advance the species. By Evolution’s own standards, homosexuals are less evolved than the rest of humanity.

This use of the word “homophobic” is absurd to the extreme. A person that has arachnophobia can’t go near a spider. It terrifies them. They shake and sweat… When one seriously considers phobias as a psychological condition, the same psychological standards are applied to all types of phobias. However, when it comes to disagreeing with sexually deviant behavior, especially when pertaining to homosexuality, an exception seems to be made. Never mind that people who are opposed to the behavior as a moral and intellectual issue virtually never display any of the classic signs of a recognizable phobia.

I guess by this standard we also have theftophobia, homicidephobia, rapephobia, incestphobia… and then secularists would have religiousophobia, especially Christianophobia…

The fact is, people like the newscast involved in the video attached to this article are “rationalthoughtophobic”. Idiots.

Speaking the truth? No. Saying that “When” (not if) “they stop Prop 8 and force priests at gunpoint to marry gays, it will be” (not would be) “the downfall of civilization, and Jesus will come back,” is speaking lunacy. Whether or not Proposition 8 is overturned or repealed, nobody is going to force priests at gunpoint to perform same sex weddings. It really isn’t ever going to happen. The fact that I’m the first one to point this out, and that somebody is sure to write in to tell me I’m wrong and call me naïve, shows the extent to which some of the people who follow this site have isolated themselves from the normal reality that the rest of society lives in.

Been a fan for over 25 years. She is a great song writer and performer from Texas.

Several years ago it appears that she heard the voice. It is no secret that she became born again in a traditional black church. Not there’ve wright kind, but a real one. She has given a lot to The Lord over the last decade.

She still leans liberal which includes concerts in Wisconsin against Scott walker. I have to laugh at how fast the liberal left controlled by homosexuals is so quick to jump on a traditional liberal.

Come to think of it, the homosexuals now control. The Republican Party leaders.

As someone who has on occasion had to sit in congressional offices, I Can tell you gays run those offices too. And from what I am told, they immediately take in new members of congress and build a black mail portfolio on them that includes prostitutes.

Observe the news and it does not take long to figure out what members allowed themselves to be blackmailed.

That brings me back to my favorite book psalms in which God lays out all about his hate of sin.

I’d like to hear her side of the story. I’d hope that after she tells it, that no video comes out discrediting her explanation. Just some truth. I would expect that if she went there with the intention of taking that stand that she’d have actually had a video made herself. If there is a big build up of lies about what she said and the she shows that the attackers are lying, then she’s got a great story and free publicity.

      http://www.wbtv.com/story/21673372/nc-church-no-marriages-until-state-recognizes-gay-marriage
The Green St Methodist Church has just announced it will no longer perform [straight] marriages until the state makes gay marriage legal. It’s my understanding from a friend that half the congregation said, “See ya”…
I will be curious to see if the Methodist UMC will excommunicate these heretics (The Methodist Church DOES NOT recognize or endorse gay marriage). While I am Methodist, I do not (nor will I ever now) attend the Green St Church. I’m very curious to see if this church will go under now. On one hand, I am saddened that another church may go down the tubes but on the other hand it will not break my heart to see the door shut.
I simply cannot see how a supposedly God fearing pastor can advocate gay marriage when the bible clearly states that homosexual behavior is an abomination. This pastor has turned his back on the bible’s teaching in favor of his own “feelings” towards gays.
Look, I have no issue with a civil union. As a matter of fact, my next door neighbors are two guys that have been together for longer than I’ve lived here (over a decade) and they are great.
What I do have an issue with is these narcissistic heretics that try and force gay marriage in clear violation with Christian law! Civil union fine, Marriage recognized by church? HELL

Does deeberj really mean to says that the Catholic Church is “forcing priests to marry gays.” I thought priests couldn’t marry. Am I right? What is any reasonable person supposed to think when one of the most intelligent posters here says that Catholics force priests to marry gays? And further, that given that’s happening, God is about to destroy the world.

I’m sorry y’all but that sounds like the ravings of a lunatic.

Jaycen says, “It seems pretty clear that God doesn’t like homosexuality. He linked it in Leviticus with incest, polyamory, and adultery. He specifically told the Israelites to avoid all of those behaviors.” He, Jaycen, also said in Leviticus to not eat shellfish or pigs. God said you shouldn’t even touch anything from a pig (like a football – “a pigskin”) or eat anything from like a pig like bacon or sausage. And there was all that stoning to death and burning alive stuff in Leviticus for fornication, sleeping with another man’s wife and so on. And don’t get me started on the rules for selling your daughter into slavery.

Please everyone, don’t quote Leviticus as the word of God. Okay? You make Christians look like redneck imbeciles.

Perhaps homosexuals are more evolved than everyone else. Mother nature may be trying to stop overpopulation, and create families for orphaned children. You also do not seem to understand genetics, it is usually more complicated than a direct passage of traits. And who’s to say that a gay person won’t have genetic children anyway?

And in Leviticus, we are told that man laying with man is wrong. We are also told that eating shellfish is wrong, wearing mixed fibers is wrong, and trimming your beard is wrong. All of those are on the same level.

Time is short, every knee WILL bow and every tongue WILL confess that Jesus is Lord. So the unbeliever will confess to Jesus that He is indeed Lord of all, but at that point it will be too late to repent and you will have eternal separation from God and those you love who are saved.

So what have you got to lose? Run don’t walk to God. You don’t need any fancy language or religion. The thief on the cross next to Jesus who recognized that Jesus was God simply said “remember me in your kingdom” and Jesus told him that he would be with him in paradise. Done deal.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, GOD GAVE THEM OVER to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, DISOBEDIENT TO PARENTS, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are WORTHY OF DEATH*, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Romans 1:24 – 32

Jacyen, it always makes me happy when I run across someone like you, who is seeking God, because I know you will eventually find him (Matthew 7:7). An important point to remember while you’re reading the Old Testament, is that the laws in the Old Testament were never meant to be a pathway to Heaven, their purpose was to teach men that we are hopelessly sinful and unable to make ourselves right before God (Galatians 3:24, Romans 7:7).

When you read the New Testament, you’ll see that Jesus lived the perfect life that none of us could ever live and was crucified as if he had broken all of the laws. In fulfilling the law by living a perfect life (Matthew 5:17), and by being crucified for the sins of mankind, Jesus made those of us who believe in him right before God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christians are not righteous because we are good people, we are righteous because God made us righteous through Christ’s work on our behalf. Of course Christians should want nothing more than to be like Jesus, but any resemblance to Jesus that a Christian “achieves” is a result of God’s work through us (Ephesians 2:10). To my own shame, I can personally attest that nothing about me resembles Christ, except for what God has done in me, despite myself. One last thing, if you’re on the fence about whether Jesus truly is the Son of God, read Lee Strobel’s “The Case for Christ” (or get the DVD).

I can care less about this story, however there is something that we all need to pick up on here: For some reason today in America, it is perfectly legal to “believe” what you want, but if you speak of it and hurts somebody’s feelings then that is illegal, or rather off limits. You see, you are perfectly free to “believe” something (unless it hurts feelings), but if it hurts feelings then it is hate speech. Those who got their poor little feelings hurt are free to hate, but you are not free to hate. If we are to be considered a “free” country (I know that’s debatable) then we have to be free to speak our minds and definitely have to be free to hate other people. It is my unalienable right to hate, as well as everyone else’s. I don’t hate, personally, but I should definitely be free to hate if I so choose.

He hated sin when it first entered the world and he still hates sin today. God is also just. He was just when he judged the world with a flood and he is still just today. God loves mankind too. He loved mankind when he led the Israelites out of bondage from Egypt and he still loves mankind today. As a matter of fact, God loves man so much that he came to earth as a man himself, Jesus, to spare those of us who believe in Christ the punishment we deserve for being so corrupt. Your sin has already been judged and you have already been condemned (John 3:18), if you choose to reject the pardon that God is willing to give you, that’s your prerogative. I would imagine God doesn’t want to force you to live in Heaven with him and I am grateful he won’t force those of us who love God to share Heaven with people who don’t want to be there. It’s bad enough living in this temporal world with people who want to inflict their misery on everyone else, so THANK GOD we won’t have to endure such insufferable people for all eternity. Where exactly did you get the absurd notion that God changes?

Re-read what you wrote. Just because it was all part of a “plan” doesn’t mean that there weren’t changes in that “plan”

If they were forced to follow the “old law” and we are now no longer force to follow that………that is change.

Your God use to require animal sacrifices………now he does not……that is change.

Your God use to just be a supernatural being…….he then then sent himself, as his son………….that is change.

Your God created a system, and knew his creation would fail and be sent to an eternal punishment. He knew ahead of time that Adam and Eve would eat the fruit and that would doom everyone else. How did he get around this system that he created? By sending himself, as his son and sacrificing himself to himself.

Your religion is built around a human sacrifice.

God DOES NOT HATE GAYS!!!!! He loves them – period. However, he abhors that they perform homosexual acts, but the person, he does not hate. If a homosexual continues performing these gay acts at death, they will be eternally separated from God – FOREVER.

However, if they denounce their lifestyle and give their lives to Jesus personally, they will be forgiven AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT RETURN TO THAT LIFESTYLE. God will heal them. GOD WILL DELIVER THEM, IF THEY ASK HIM TO.

HOMOSEXUALITY IS A CHOICE AND YOU ARE NOT BORN WITH IT, NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE TELLS YOU, INCLUDING YOUR PROFESSORS. IT IS A LIE OF SATAN.

“Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool ourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,” 1 Corinthians 6:9 (NLT)

“But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:2 (NIV)

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV)

“Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.” Romans 13:13 (NIV)

GOD DOES NOT LIE. THE BIBLE DOES NOT LIE, no matter what ANYONE ELSE tells you.

@ MOD…Ah still peddling your same old tired straw man fallacies about the immutability of God I see. It has become amusing I must admit, albeit a bit tiresome. I would agree with you on one point, my faith is most definitely centered on a human(son of God) sacrifice. Without it there would be no peace with God. I find it strange when someone who clearly doesn’t understand the doctrines of the Trinity or immutability sit in judgment of both. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are most definitely 3 different persons that are joined in perfect unity to make up the Godhead. Much like when we say that when a man marries a woman the 2 have become one. They still have separate identities but they have become one because of there relationship with one another in love. So it would be ludicrous to say that when having intercourse with my wife I am having intercourse with myself. This then demonstrates your straw man fallacy of God sacrificing himself to himself. The premise of which was based upon your ignorance of the real teaching of the Trinity. Secondly, the immutability of God does not limit actions, the immutability of God means his CHARACTER never changes. Technically, even if I were to allow you to keep your false premise intact, you would still be in error because while it may appear as change to us, the bible is quite clear that it has been God’s plan all along so in that regard nothing has changed except our perspective. Thank you.

MODERATIONISBEST, I re-read what I wrote and still don’t know what you’re talking about. God never changed his plan. His plan all along was to use the law to teach mankind the difference between right and wrong (Romans 3:19-20). He also planned, from the beginning, to redeem the world from sin (Genesis 3:15).

Also, don’t think that the law has been set aside. If you have rejected Christ, you are still under the law and your only hope of getting into Heaven is to have not broken any part of the law. Don’t get your hopes up though, because even if you’ve only ever told one lie in your life (fat chance) or have only hated one person (good luck with that in today’s world), you are guilty of breaking all of God’s laws (James 2:10). As I said before, you already stand condemned (John 3:18).

Regarding animal sacrifices, they served a purpose for mankind until Jesus came to earth to offer himself up as the perfect sacrifice. Blood was required from the beginning to atone for sacrifice, but the blood of animals was a very weak substitute for the blood of Christ. Once Jesus gave his life, no more sacrifice was required, because the sin debt of mankind was paid in full (Hebrews 10:1-18). That is not change, that is mission accomplished.

      …continued

As far as Jesus not being a supernatural being, he was 100% human and 100% God. That’s pretty supernatural.

Yes, my God evidently created a system where he knew creation would fail and some would be sent to Hell. The question you really need to ask yourself is, why would you send yourself to Hell when God has made it soooooooooo easy for you to go to Heaven? I mean he came to earth as a man to die in your place, what more do you want? Furthermore, if you don’t want to have anything to do with God in this life, why would you want to spend eternity with him?

And no, Christianity is not built around human sacrifice, it is built around God sacrificing himself in human flesh to save humanity. The fact that you could find anything bad to say about such a selfless act, when it is mankind that has constantly rebelled against God, says nothing bad about God, but it speaks volumes about your own depraved nature. Don’t feel bad though, my own nature is depraved too. Out of curiosity, if in the beginning God asked for your advice, what would you have told him to do differently?

The venue’s owner apparently tried to end the show as well, but Inquisitr claims that Shocked continued to perform. In the end, staff cut the lights and allegedly shut her down. As a result of the incident, another venue that was planning to host the singer for a May 5 performance has cancelled her show.”

It’s ALWAYS the same story with the fäggots:

20 And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave,
21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.”
      ..
1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them ..
      ..
4 .. the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. 5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”
6 So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him,
7 and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!
      ..
9 Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.”
      [Genesis 18,19 - Holy Bible]

.. and the story always ends the same way.

      @Sleazy

When someone says that a husband and wife have become one, they are using it as a METAPHOR. Are you saying that the Trinity is just a metaphor? The husband and wife are two distinct separate people. Christianity claims that God and Jesus are the father and the son, but they are the same person. No one says the same about a husband and wife. If a woman conspires with me to murder to someone, and we get caught, does her husband as well get prosecuted if he had no involvement because they are “as one?” No, of course not.

Again, please stop telling me that I “don’t understand” this stuff. I do understand it, I understand it completely, I have just come to a different conclusion then you have.

So a mob boss comes up to you and says, “hey if you don’t pay me 1,000 a month for my protection, some bad stuff may happen to you.” You then refuse to pay him and he has your legs broken. Would you think it wise, honest or moral of the mob boss to say, “why are you making this so difficult on yourself? It doesn’t have to be this way just pay me the money.”

Only an evil being would create such a system and only a deluded individual would call this system moral.

That is usually my entire point. I don’t think there is a divine reading of the Bible. You have different people, each in different branches of Christianity. They all claim to worship the same God and read the same Bible yet they come to very different conclusions.. Ironically, they all appeal to the same divinity behind their interpretation.

The Bible to me is a book like any other book. One being written by men and open to interpretation in many different forms. Therefore you can have someone say, “I have come to conclusion X, and it has always been part of God’s unchanging plan” and then you can have someone else say, ” I have come to conclusion Y, and it has always been part of God’s unchanging plan.”

What is the big deal? Artists say stupid things everyday.

This outrage over what she said, is out of proportion.
There would be less outrage if she had an abortion on stage, in fact she would have been lifted up and probably would have gotten an Emmy the next time around, and invited to the Whitehouse, and been nominated for an award by the Bill Gates foundation….

The fact is that God does hate all sin, and all need Christ blood to cover their sins to enter into heaven. But along with believing one must turn away from ones sins, and that includes not visiting bath houses and hooking up in public bathrooms.

Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
Rom 1:25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
    Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;
Rom 1:27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

The word says, “God loved Jacob but Esau he hated”. Because Esau despised his birthright, that was clearly a rejection of God and God hated him for that. True, all of us are sinners but there are degrees of sin. There is a false teaching that there are no degree of sin. There are 7 abominations of things that God hates. You can seek that for yourself and look that up. Actually, the question is not that God loves everybody, the truth is that not everybody loves God. What gets and gives a person eternal life and salvation will depend of whether we love God, not that God loves us. He provided his love for the whole world in the provision of his sacrifice of his son Jeshua the Christ. When a person loves God, well, they will love truth and want to please him. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him and we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

As Christ said to the crowd ready to stone to death the woman caught in the act of adultery, “let the one without sin cast the first stone” Then said to the woman “get up, where are your accusers? I accuse you not, now GO AND SIN NO MORE”. In other words Christ told her to repent. Without confession and repentance one is still a sinner. Jesus is not a get out of hell free card, He paid the price with His love and sacrifice. Repentance is he sacrifice we must make. Yes he does hate sin, it keeps us from him. He loves the sinner and wants them to repent and come back to him, but he does hate the sin.

You know, thirty or forty years ago it seems to me that radical Christians at least made an effort to hide their religious blood lust, but nowadays I see rants like this^ one on a daily basis. I guess we have Pat Robertson & co. to thank for that development. This whole dominionist movement really has been a sanctuary for the most aggressive, anti-social, unintelligent, and mediocre among us.

We didn’t have militant atheist running around ridiculing and mocking everything they knew nothing about. It’s because we have a new class of low-life- heathens ,that don’t have the decency to respect someone’s faith. They are hell bent on depraving one of the only nation, that allows Christians to practice their faith without persecution . That if you had your way ,it would not be so. You hateful person you.

I had to laugh at this one. There is no such thing as intolerance where ideas are concerned. Christianity is nothing more than an idea, and as such it will never be immune from the court of public opinion. If I find your ideas to be stupid, archaic, totalitarian, etc., expect to hear about it. Are you honestly comparing criticism of Christianity with the vitriolic, thinly-veiled threats of violence in the post I was commenting on? Do you ever notice how nonbelievers are only willing to go as far as ridicule, while the followers of gentle Jesus seem to only engage these arguments with emotional aggressiveness.

Also, your self-pitying remark about this being the only nation where Christians can freely practice is ludicrous. I won’t insult your intelligence by listing the others.

The Bible says that God loves everyone, but He hates sin. You cannot be a Christian and support “same-sex” marriage. The apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth:

“Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor homosexuals 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

You have been deceived by the world, which is Satan. Please read chapter 1 in Paul’s letter to the church at Rome for more details.

I may or may not be a Christian, but I prefer them as neighbors to a handful of other faiths. I however, support government being completely out of the marriage definition business. Completely and utterly out, that means not forcing hospitals or businesses to cater to people’s lifestyles they don’t agree with.

It does not matter if they believe what they say or not, inject a word that is not pc and they get instant attention. I’m quite sure she was MOCKing the religious right with “hateful invectives” to tune her audience into further controversy…that’s how these “stars” get known. Gay marriage is analogous to square wheel. If they want to live together and have a contractual arrangement that’s fine. What they do in private is their business, but gay pride? Really? What’s to be proud of and why do they think it promotes their cause by celebrating it in public. They only want to have it called marriage to rub it in the faces of conservatives who value the principle. It’s no longer enough to be tolerant. Nowadays you are called names for not being an advocate. The gay agenda is to have being queer considered just another form of normality. While it may be normal for a certain percentage of people to be homosexual, it’s no more normal than being one who eats their own feces. Homophobia? Homonausea!
The aids epidemic was in large part caused by the wreckless promiscuity of gay men. An article in Time magazine from years ago attributed the first 1,500 cases in the US to a single queer flight attendant. Isn’t that special. The infected should have been quarantined, but the disease was politically protected, so we all became at risk and remain so. I’ll buy into gay marriage when anal sex results in the birth of something other than a liberal lawyer.

Was her free speech infringed somehow? Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences; it means you can’t be arrested or restrained from the government for speaking your mind.
