Professional provocateur Michael Moore, fresh off his call for officials to release the crime scene photos from the Sandy Hook massacre, said on Tuesday that Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wouldn’t be dropping the “assault weapons” ban if his grandchildren were killed by a shooter tomorrow.

Appearing on CNN with host Piers Morgan, Moore blasted the National Rifle Association for imposing it’s will against the “majority” of people who support stricter gun control.

Referring to Sen. Rob Portman’s (R-Ohio) flip-flop on gay marriage after finding out his son was gay, Morgan wondered whether any lawmakers would have a change of heart on gun control if members of their families were victims of gun violence.

Moore agreed, but took it to a very dark place with his graphic reasoning.

“If a man with an assault weapon goes in to the school where Harry Reid’s grandchildren go to school tomorrow and kills his grandchildren, would he go in front of his microphone at 5:00 and say, ‘I know how Dianne [Feinstein] had to witness the mayor getting murdered, and I just–my grandchildren just got killed today, but, you know, we can’t get it passed ’cause we just don’t have the votes.”

“Would he do that really? I don’t think so,” he added.

    If Michael Moore’s grandchildren (assuming he has any) were killed by a drunk driver, would they start trying to get vehicles banned? Of course not, but they might try to crack down on drunk driving (OK, some crazies like Michael Moore might try it). A hypothetical question; why is it different with guns?

      It different because there are less cars than guns but cars killed at 10 times the rates of guns.
      So for every one person killed bya gun there are 10 killed by cars.
      That’s a big difference

      If Moore was at the wrong end of a loaded gun held by nut job ready to pull the trigger but was saved by a NRA member who blew the nut job away. Would Moore still advocate Obamas gun controll.?Theres always a stupid hypothetical that can be countered by another stupid hypothetical.       I think when they put these articles up the photo should always be one in which the anti gun thug has all his armed guards surrounding him. They want law abiding citizens to give up our rights while they are surrounded and protected by armed guards. They should never be shown in a picture by our side without the armed guards when we are talking gun rights.

    If someone pulled a gun on Michael Moore, he believes the best thing to do is just run away…Unfortunately for Mr. Moore, you have to first be capable of running…So why is he so adamant about having guns? Go figure.

      That’s pretty funny. His best movie is Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s movie. I think you could pick any other movie he had nothing to do with and say it was his best also. Except for Waterworld. That was as bad as a Michael Moore movie.
