Blaze readers will likely recall the story of Eileen Hart, a New Jersey resident whose guns were seized after she attended a town hall to publicly challenge a mandatory reevaluation of her property value that would greatly increase her tax rate. The Orthodox Jewish mom, who became a conservative icon almost overnight, joined others who claim their Second Amendment rights have come under siege on Tuesday evening’s episode of The Glenn Beck Program.
Joining Hart was Celia Bigelow, a Blaze contributor and conservative activist who recently confronted with Democratic Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) over gun control, and Keith Pantaleon, a New Jersey man whose guns and swords were recently seized also.
During the town hall, Hart read from the constitution and was later chased by one of the appraisers after calling him a “pencil pusher.” She was accused of threatening to return with a gun, a claim Hart categorically denies.
Nonetheless, Hart was charged with making “terroristic threats” and instructed to relinquish her weapons to the authorities lest her bail increase. Beck noted that Hart could face five years in jail.
Bigelow, meanwhile, was also at a town hall meeting. This one focused on preventing “another Newtown.” She was brushed off after asking Rep. Moran why he was not “pro-choice” when it came to self-defense for women,
Pantaleon, who worked as an IT specialist at Deutsche bank explained how his legally purchased firearms were also seized.
The panel shared their views on the Second Amendment and explained why they believe government is growing unchecked and thus, encroaching on the rights of everyday, law-abiding Americans.
Has America become a police state of sorts? Is there really a war against legal gun owners? Is it an outright ban rather than stricter controls that legislators are truly after? All of this and more was explored in what was a lively and engaging panel.
Watch below as the panelists, along with Beck weigh in:

Mar. 21, 2013 at 4:50amI support and defend the Constitution, as I have sworn to do. My position has not waivered. However, the political lanscape has drifted, blown whichever way the progressives choose. Although their ideas were extremist in th 60s, they have been able to slowly shift the discussions to the left to the point where I, with my views of limited Government and individual liberty, am now considered extreme.
Beware of the tactics used by the Left…the over-the-top proposals they throw out are what they really want to do, in the longrun. If these measures pass now, they will take the victory; however, the primary purpose is to shift what is considered ‘acceptable’ further to the left. Afterall, compared to an outright ban of all guns, additional backgroup checks, more taxes, ammo permits and/or liability insurance seem mild. Do not accept the lesser of two evils; do not give up even a little of your liberty or they will take it all, a piece at a time. As our liberties continue to errode, wewill reach a point where we lack the freedom to stop the trend, much less reverse it. We may be there already.

Mar. 20, 2013 at 11:05amCriminals intending to mean harm are applauding these proposed new laws. THEY DO NOT COMPLY TO LAW, Making criminals out of law abiding citizens will not deter the true criminal element. And I think all know that. An armed society is a polite society. This notion that we will turn into the wild west is so ridiculous on it’s face. Actually the crime rate in that era was far less because it was quickly taken care of. Following are some statistics about the “wild west” days that gun control advocates like to throw at the gullible public:
“There was violence along the frontiers, but most of it was related to clashes with Indians, bandits or foreign nations. There was not a great deal of “ordinary” crime. From 1870 to 1885, the era of the Wild West when “everybody wore a gun,” arrest rates per 100 residents were much lower in the West than in eastern cities. Moreover, “the Western frontier was a far more civilized, more peaceful, and safer place than American society is today. From the Harvard Journal of Legislation Homicides in the “Wild West,” for example, were much more rare than Hollywood suggests. Larson notes that only forty-five homicides occurred from 1870 to 1885 in the “fabled towns” of Abilene, Caldwell, Dodge City, Ellsworth, and Wichita, only 0.6 killings per town per year.

This is WAY too erie! I too had an unfortunate boating accident while I was underway with all my weapons. You see, I was heading to a gun buyback program that was being held at a State Park and decided to take the boat since it has so much more room then the trunk of my car.
Unfortunately, I forgot to close the door that leads to the swim platform and when I shoved the throttle forward, all my guns slid right out that door and over the swimplatform. I was a little bummed out becuase I was hoping to make a few bucks off of those weapons; but when I really started to think about it, my goal was achieved anyway. I got rid of those scary looking black gun “thingys” and now I am sure the world is that much more safer.
But I still find it wierd that all these boating mishaps are resulting in lost guns. But, better at the bottom of the lake then in the house where they could just jump up on their own and start blasting away at women and children. Not to mention that it lessens the chance that a home intruder could get hurt or even, God forbid, killed.

Mar. 19, 2013 at 10:07pmthat is what happened to Rome. Rome became very rich and the empire very large in a relatively short time. Romans decided that they had so much money that everyone living in Rome (capitol of the empire) would be exempt from most taxation. That was just for the little people in the provinces. What they did not count on was all the riff-Raff began moving to Rome to avoid taxes. Soon there were so many that these people slept in doorways, on ledges, and under overhangs everywhere. The city opened “dole” windows (that is where the word ‘dole’ came from) and all of the homeless would line up in the morning and get a free loaf of bread and bottle of cheap wine. These people still blocked the streets so the circuses were invented to keep these people off the streets and out of the way watching the ‘games’ in the day time.

Mar. 19, 2013 at 8:16pmThis is an example of the enforcement arm of a Marxist government. Use intimidation tactics to control your subjects.
Rep. Jim Moran is a communist. Why do I know this. Because he told us.
A communist believes in ownership of production and distribution. He has stated that government “owns” our constitutional rights to bear arms and the production of those arms (Clinton assault ban) he then states that government owns the right of what can be distributed.
Socialist believe in control of production and distribution but not the denial.
Communist want to control all postal distribution.
Ups is a quasi socialist experiment done well
Fed ex, dhl are free market at work
City/local delivery services are America at its best. They are the most hated by communist government officials.
The bottom line is that rep Moran is a communist of the Marxist brand. Call a spade a spade.
Hell, half the republicans in congress are socialist.

Just to be clear, Rep. Jim Moran is a Democrat from VA. But I hear you, at least half of the republicans in the house and senate are socialist in nature; or just spineless politicians who cow-tow to the Left.
I find this confusing, how is it that these people get re-elected? They run on the “Republican” platform, but it seems they just bend to the Democrats once they are in office….and then they manage to get re-elected. Republican party is so fragmented that it might as well be considered dead.
Personally, I do not consider myself as a republican any more, I consider myself a conservative; so where do I go?

Here is something that some may find it to wrap you mind around. There is no Republican Party in California. It died. There are some party’s based on congressional districts. In Oregon after the 2000election it was decided by rove that Oregon was no longer to be part of the national party because they tend to be to conservative. A few other states have had this done. Bush became the president who visited this state the most in history, that was to take the money.
That set the democrat party in motion to remove republican house speaker (very conservative) and senate president. This then allowed the freaky former senator packwood’s log cabin organization come in.
I had met last week with several elected officials, libertarian party activist, constitution party leaders, and independents. If the republicans reject the base and go completely gay, it looks like a new party will be formed. For this to work under state finance laws we need at least 20 office holders leave the party on paper (we now have a fusion form of voting) in the primary. Done right, This blocks the party from seeking new candidate going into primary.
This effectively allows the new party to control finance but its a new party. It looks like we could be looking at 4-5 members of the legislature and a dozen county officials are ready.
I worked on a republican campaign last spring in which my guy won the democrat primary as a conservative republican as a county commissioner.

Mar. 19, 2013 at 8:13pmI was doing a little mini-celebration when I heard Feinsteins AWB was not going to be included in the Senate’s proposed Gun Control proposal; but at the same time, I am still saddened that there is even any activity to induce more gun laws, of any type on a Federal level. However, let us not forget that there are efforts from the Left to impose restrictive, anti-second admendment laws on the State level.
We may have won a small victory today with the subjecation of Feinsteins proposal as an amendment to the current bill working its way through the Senate, but it is a very small victory; and even likely, a slight of hand trick on the part of the Democrats. Chip away slowly, eventually your right will be gone entirely.
The fight is no where near over my pro 2nd Amendment Patriots.

Mar. 19, 2013 at 8:31pmI don’t know about that. Lets think this through.
Feinstein is from San Francisco and you have to deal with total California registration and San Fran has these restrictive local rules. In Portland oregon north of here, it is a concealed carry state with no registration but an NRA written background check law.
Both cities are as que6r as they get.
So does this mean that gays in San Fran are denied the rights other gays have?
So I can only conclude leftist dems discriminate.

Mar. 20, 2013 at 10:59amThe point was that you have the two most leftist cities on the west coast. X mayor Feinstein insured that one city denied its citizens the constitutional rights that another like city enjoys.
Since in the new politic gay citizens are endowed with more rights then non-gay, it would appear that Feinstein demonstrated that not all are to be treated equally.
She demonstrated as a city leader that some gays are more equal then others…..that’s all :)
