Hilarious Video of Teen Waking Up Post Wisdom Teeth Removal: ‘How Did I Get Here?’

This video can only be described as a new “David After Dentist.”

Posted on YouTube Tuesday by a young man in Utah is the video of him in a dentist’s chair after having his wisdom teeth removed. He’s pretty hopped up on some kind of pain medication and, as you might expect, the antics and conversation with his father afterward are pretty hilarious.

Tanner Paxman, who according to his Facebook page lives in North Ogden, Utah, said he doesn’t remember anything that was caught on camera by his dad. And, as the video description states, he would like to point out that “i (sic) don’t usually cry this much.”

A friend named Ashton should be feeling pretty good about himself as Paxman very emphatically — and tearfully — expresses his desire to see his best friend in the clip, as well as just wanting to dance.

At one point, Paxman seems to completely have forgotten where he was.

“How did I get here?” he asks, squirming in the chair trying to figure out his surroundings.

Paxman then insists, “Dude, I’m good, bro. I’m so good.”

He becomes distressed again when his father points out that he can’t get up and leave until the staff takes out his IV, which he hadn’t noticed in his arm before. It’s also revelation to him later in the clip that there was gauze in his mouth. When the nurse comes in to remove the IV and Paxman perks up asking if she’s his girlfriend.

He states again, “I’m good, bro. I want to party.”

The nurse gives Paxman’s parents a parting “good luck.”

“I hope you have a great weekend,” she said.

The video has gone viral on Facebook with more than 113,000 likes and more than 100,000 shares as of the time of this posting. On YouTube though, the video only has a little more than 13,000 views so far.

Now, it could be argued that Paxman is “hamming up” the effects of the drug for the camera. And that could be. Even if this is the case though, it doesn’t make it any less hilarious.

Paxman has even created T-shirts with his “I want to party” quote.

One of the nice things about having a “big mouth” (as my parents called it in my youth), I have all of my wisdom teeth, but, not sure how much wisdom it gave me LOL.

Bunch of ninnies, as a woman who had her wisdom teeth pulled out in my early 30′s needing gums cut open and stitches, all with only NOVOCAINE. Bunch ofKITTIES in this country.

I would not do that to my kids. What a violation of their privacy.

WHAT HAPPENED TO LAUGHING GAS. That made getting my wisdom teeth removed fun – I was totally amuzed with the absurdity of the dentist using tools in my mouth that could just as easily be used to repair a car . Laughing gas is the bomb.

I put these kids to sleep for wisdom teeth for a living. This is a pretty typical wake up after anesthesia. If they had just left him alone in a quiet recovery place, he would have rested quietly until he was awake enough to go home. Unfortunately his parent thought it would be funny to ask him questions while he was in this state, and film it. I dislike this when I see it, because it’s taking advantage of a defenseless person.

Seems a little strange to me that they would let him get up and walk if he wasn’t steady on his feet yet. It seems fake to me, a little too over the top.

oh oh oh w enjoyed this so much, brought back happy funny memories of our family after their wisdom teeth out at the dentist too. very cute, very cute. really tickled everyone here. wish we had thought to ever video at our DDS.

Who gets an IV at the dentist…?
When I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago my dentist treated me like he was shoeing a horse.
As soon as I sat down the guy came in and told me to open my mouth and immediately jammed a 4 inch needle into six places in my gums.
15 minutes later he came back and stuck the plyers in my mouth and was done in about two minutes.
I thought he was going to tug my head right off my shoulders.

What a bunch of “stick-in-the-muds” to criticize a video with humor! It was real and not acted. Any foul language was so moderate and in the vocabulary of his friends and schoolmates. I don’t approve of bad words but they were moderate,

Get a real life and smile, for cryin’ out loud! The video was funny and harmless.

By observing his behavior, whether truly still under sedation or not, in my opinion, that boy is going to get into major trouble in the near future.
His family needs to get him some mental help real soon.

That is so wrong LOL……

We caught our son singing the Barney “I love you, You love me” song to his little sister years ago. It came back to haunt him as we played the video at his wedding for their first dance song. I don’t think I’ll ever be forgiven for that one…….

  JBLAZE….. He probably just recently had braces removed.
  Orthodontists send you straight to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal, right after braces are removed, if x-rays show that your wisdom teeth will be coming in impacted.
  When your wisdom teeth start coming in, they can cause your teeth to go back crooked and undo years of teeth straightening.
