We’re officially into day two of spring, but for some areas in the United States winter is still maintaining its icy choke hold.
If you’re one of the many wishing for blooming bulbs and warming temps, you might consider sending Old Man Winter off with a bang — literally — like in the viral filmmaker Scott Winn’s (scottdw) latest creation.

In the video created by Winn et al, it’s Russian vs. Snowmen. The Russian, played by actor Christian Busath, triumphs over 30 or so inanimate snowmen in what Winn described to TheBlaze as the “obliteration of winter.” But he does it with quite a bit of flare, including the use of grenade launchers, .50 caliber rifles, samurai swords and a good show of pyrotechnics.

Winn said they probably had about 17 full on explosives for the shoot, although not all made the video’s final cut.
If you’re wondering how such an idea to “destroy winter” even came about, like many of these thrilling viral videos, the goal for filmmakers is to make something even more crazy and entertaining than their last. The idea first started off as a hunting video in the woods, but Winn told TheBlaze it morphed into a battle against winter and snowmen based on timing, the finding of a fabulous white fur coat and fear of accidentally starting a forest fire if they set off explosives in the woods.

The location for the video was an abandoned mining town in Silver City, Utah.
We can’t advise those wishing winter gone to take out their frustrations in the same method as that shown in this video, but it is certainly satisfying to see winter take a wishful hit:

Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas said Ratliff was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy by the GBI crime lab in Atlanta determined Ratliff died as the result of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Ayers said numerous firearms were found at the residence, but not the weapon used to kill Ratliff.

Just pointing that out because if you contest that we are in a period of global warming, then you lose that one. Then when you CORRECTLY say that anthropogenic CO2 is not proven to be the cause of of any global warming, you have lost credibility.

Mar. 21, 2013 at 5:06pmGrenade launchers are Class 3 weapons listed as “destructive devices”. They are not hard to get your hands on at all, they require only a tax stamp. The ammo is a little harder to find and very expensive, but not illegal. They are legal in almost every state. I couldn’t find a good map for it, but this NFA lawyer’s blog has a list of what you can and can’t have in every state.

Mar. 21, 2013 at 4:50pmGrenade LAUNCHERS are not hard to get a hold of… I’m not sure, since the Anti-gun non-sense started, but up until recently, I know you could (pretty easily) get a hold of a 38mm Grenade launcher (the 40mm used by military were banned or heavily restricted).. The hard part was finding H.E. rounds for it (those I think have always been illegal for civilians, but I may be wrong).. But you could get 38mm Tear, and smoke Grenades… I know people who have them…
