Obama Heckled in Jerusalem: Actually Made Me Feel at Home

President Barack Obama was briefly interrupted by a heckler during a speech to students in Jerusalem on Thursday.

The heckler was booed loudly by the surrounding audience. As the protester continued to shout, Obama said, “This is part of the lively debate that we talked about, this is good!”

At that, the audience burst into applause and gave him a standing ovation.

“I have to say we actually arranged for that because it actually made me feel at home,” Obama joked. “I wouldn’t feel comfortable if I didn’t have at least one heckler.”

According to the White House pool report, the heckler was shouting about imprisoned spy Jonathan Pollard, convicted of passing classified information to Israel in the 1980s.

      Actually if I and or my family lived in Israel and Barack Obama was to speak at the podium, we would not attend the speaking engagement. An empty chair sends a stronger message than one that is filled and heckles. Clint Eastwood proved this one!

    I once saw a sermon, where the minister outlined many “coincidences” where when the US made actions/statements that were anti-Israel, within 24 hours to a week a storm/earthquake/or some catastrophic event happened in the is US.

    I wonder what is about to happen to US this time.

    And he even spoke under a banner with Arafat picture(a know terrorist). But when he spoke at a catholic school, all markings/symbols of the Christian faith had to be hidden?

      I heard the same sermon…, or one just like it. I think the sermon has hit on something true. God punishes those who hate israel to the point of hurting her. Obama…being a muslim…..would not believe in such a passage of scripture…… Anyway .., he doesn’t care what happens to America . He and just go golfing.

      Abu Mazzen; Mahmoud Abbas wasn’t Arafat”s(known terrorist) number 2 in the old PLO which is today’s Fatah? His thesis wasn’t a denial of the holocaust? Had the so called Palestinians worked at building a state FOR their people, instead of trying to destroy Israel, they would have a thriving country with happy citizens instead of a squalid morass with a brainwashed population that only wants to get rid of the Jewish state.

      I don’t think Obama is Muslim, unless you subscribe to the notion being the son of a Muslim makes you one. I don’t believe that anymore than someone being the child of a Christian makes them a Christian. Nor do I believe sitting in the pews for 20 years makes you a Christian either, but it probably influences your thoughts.

      But I do think Obama attending the church he attended for 20 years, one with such strong anti-Israel philosophy, and his churches fondness for people like anti-Jewish Farrakhan, by giving him a lifetime achievement award, etc, etc. I think that speaks to Obama’s views towards Israel, and explains his current and past actions towards Israel.

    With the US revolution and the French revolution the majority of the uprisings are started by students. The Russian revolution against the Czar, the Chinese switch to communism. It is the students in Egypt, Iran, and all the middle east. The big uprising in Tiananmen Square were all students. In the 60′s it was mostly students that were making all the noise during the Viet Nam war.

    But all these uprisings are brought about by agenda driven adults and using the kids because at the age they are they are a fertile field to start a change for good or evil. And sadly most of the kids are foolish and believe it is what they are being fed.

    Bama went to Egypt and started the kids on a tear. Now he is trying to do the same thing in Israel. We can only pray that he is not successful in Israel. Those kids are a little less gullible because of how they have been raised and all the rockets that come flying in on a daily if not hourly basis.

    I’ll start by giving you credit for at least SPELLING it right, I’ve seen so many refer to it as marshal or marshall law – but now I’ll ask YOU the same question I’ve asked other people I’ve seen on this site who have posited this same notion:

    Obama can DECLARE a national state of martial law, but SOMEONE is still going to have to IMPOSE and ENFORCE it: just WHO do you think Obama would be able to get to DO it?

    Our military/National Guard/civilian law-enforcement would be the putative martial law enforcers, but I think Obama would be able to get at most only a small segment of those in these bodies behind such a move, ESPECIALLY among our active-duty military, 2/3 of which is from states that were part of the old Confederacy (and thus not especially fond of Obama), and almost all of which, by now, knows very well just how much contempt their current Commander-in-Chief holds for them: he doesn’t even make any ATTEMPT to hide that contempt anymore. The thought that they’ll turn their weapons upon their own familes, friends,and neighbors for such a man is hard for me to swallow.

    He’d bring in U.N. forces to do it, others will say. Well, once U.N. forces discover the reception they’ll get in this country, they’ll turn tail and cower in our major blue enclave

    Mr. Obama rarely gets heckled in America. How could he? He spends 99% of his time at the Bully Pulpit, inside a high school gym; with a handpicked audience behind him. In that way he stays on track with his teleprompter. There again if he ever bothers to read the submitted remarks by the vast majority of Americans, his ears are burning! For sure, he’s got a pair to fly with!

Why do you think he speaks to students? They can’t think beyond the end of the week (a youth thing). Unless there is a party the week after that.
