Stunning Audio: Colorado Dem Senator Tells Colleague to ‘Flip a Coin’ to Decide Vote on Unread Amendment to $1 Billion Education Bill
While lawmakers debated a bill that would overhaul the way education is funded in Colorado and result in $1 billion in new taxes, state Sen. Evie Hudak (D-Westmister) suggested that they “finish it up real fast in two minutes” without thoroughly discussing a proposed amendment. She also told Sen. Owen Hill (R-Colorado Springs) to “flip a coin” when he asked how he could possibly vote on a major amendment he hadn’t read.
“I’m going to take a quick straw poll,” Hudak said. “How many want to finish it up real fast in two minutes, raise your hand.”
“How can I vote on it if we can’t have a little more discussion on it,” Hill replied.
“Take your best shot,” Hudak shot back.
When the roll was called, Hill again stated that he couldn’t vote on something that the legislature hadn’t read and discussed more thoroughly.
“Here’s a coin you can flip,” Hudak said.
“I didn’t knock on 20,000 doors to flip a coin,” Hill added.
“You’ll pass for now, here’s a coin if you want to flip it,” she said condescendingly.
“Unbelievable,” a stunned Hill muttered.
“The 2012 cycle is Senator Hudak’s last election, as she is term limited and will not have to stand for reelection. She is certainly acting like it,” Revealing Politics notes.
Listen to the audio via Revealing Politics below:
The Colorado Springs Gazette has more details on the school financing overhaul bill in question:
A complete overhaul of the way Colorado has funded schools for two decades would likely bring more money to all but one El Paso County school district.
But the complicated school finance reform hinges on voters approving an estimated $1 billion in additional taxes — an anticipated November ballot question that has not been introduced.
The extra money would be used to increase funding for early childhood education, special education, extended school days for at-risk schools, gifted and talented programs and teacher performance and evaluation.
Sen. Mike Johnston, D-Denver, said he authored the 174-page bill to ensure that students in Colorado have access to the resources they need regardless of who they are or where they live.
You may recall, Hudak is the same Colorado senator that told rape survivor Amanda Collins that a gun wouldn’t have helped her against her rapist because “statistics are not on your side.”
“You said that you were a martial arts student, I mean person, experienced in taekwondo, and yet because this individual was so large, was able to overcome you even with your skills, and chances are that if you had had a gun, then he would have been able to get that from you and possibly use it against you,” Hudak said.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. I’d say you wont be getting many of those tax dollars from gun and ammunition sales or hunting licences and hunting supplies. Any company that has anything at all to do with anything firearms related is bailing out of Colorado Pronto. Keep it up Colorado……You’ll look just like Detroit in short order.

An influx of illegals and Californians.
I believe Pat Buchanan (yes I know..all of a sudden all the lefties collectively gasped and cried..”racist”) said it best when he said “when the rest of the country starts looking like California, they start voting like California”. Take from that what you will but it appears he has some validity to his statement.
Furthermore, these are today’s Democrats we’re talking about, they don’t believe there’s a debt crisis remember?

Posted on March 23, 2013 at 6:10pmThe problem is that over the last twenty years we have been overrun by Californians that chose to escape the cesspool they created. But they can’t help themselves, they are liberals after all and they will not change. They can not be reasoned with.
There used to be a sign in a field facing the East bound lanes of I-70 in Western Colorado that said “Don’t Kalifornicate Colorado!” It was a bit controversial in the area. Obviously it did not deter the invaders.
There is nothing that conservative minded Coloradoans can really do, other that what my wife and I did which was to go to the caucuses, including being delegates for our area at the state caucus.
This of course in the end really did nothing. Believe what you will, whether it was voter apathy or outright election fraud, this state is now thoroughly controled by liberals and Communists.
Even one of my local city councilman proudly told me he was a “Socialist” which I feel is no different than a Communist.
At this point there is nothing that can really be done, short of a taking violent action, which is not going to happen. Voting in my opinion is nearly a moot point.
In the case of this douche politician stating that they should just flip a coin, I feel that at the minimum she should be impeached for dereliction of duty. But again that is not going to happen.
This is a lost cause and as far as I am concerned, the only thing that will change the course of the state and for the country is to rise up a

Liberals say they are for their constituents, but once they get elected they tend to focus (like a laser) on enlarging their bank accounts while becoming slaves to their ever growing egos. In this computer age all representatives should have an online poll so their constituents can vote on upcoming laws and agenda (vote only once, not like electing a democrat president). They say they represent us… but do they really, I say we get to vote on it.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 4:44pmYou need to read the story. She is term limited and won’t have an opponent next election. That is why she is unaccountable now.
Now, it is possible she will do what most useless politicians will do when they can’t run for reelection at the current office – run for a different office. In that case you may be right and I do hope her constituents hold her feet to the fire over this. In fact it would be nice in a perfect world if she was called out by a NEWS crew (do we have those anymore) on camera to explain herself on why she thinks raising taxes and education are trivial matters.

I still think we should be able to vote on our representative’s secure websites. Then when 60% plus voters said we did not want 0care they would listen knowing they might not get re-elected if they vote against the populous, I bet Dhalkemper (the rep we booted because of her vote for 0care) might have voted against it if she knew she would be ousted by voting for 0care.

They have forgotten they are public servants and they need reminded.
