FreedomWork’s Kibbe: GOP Needs to Realize ‘It’s OK to Be Different’
The Republican Party still appears to be in a phase of self-examination following its disappointing results in last November’s elections, releasing a scathing internal task force report this week acknowledging that public perception of the party is at record lows and inroads must be made with young and minority voters.
FreedomWorks President and CEO Matt Kibbe says the party needs some new blood and should seek guidance in the conservative movement’s young, savvy activists who are ready and able to succeed in today’s decentralized political landscape.
During an interview with TheBlaze contributor Mallory Factor in New York City this week, Kibbe said that the Republican Party needs to bring in new talent from online media, the Tea Party and the blogosphere, while getting out of the business of picking winners and losers in primaries and among grassroots activists.
“[S]ome of these kids have tattoos, some of these kids like Ron Paul–some of them have these crazy long sideburns,” Kibbe tells Factor of the changing, decentralized power-base of the conservative movement, and in turn GOP. “And you shouldn’t be afraid of that, it’s okay. It’s okay to be different in this new world.”
In the interview posted below, Kibbe explains that the world of politics has changed from top-down control by consultants, to a bottom-up, decentralized atmosphere now where policy and campaign mechanics matter more than ever.
“I think the GOP should at least start having a conversation with the people who have demonstrated an ability to work in that online world,” Kibbe tells TheBlaze.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 4:51pmWe need to return the Senate back to the purview of the states. http://www.repeal17.net is a PAC that has a goal to repeal the 17th amendment. This Amendment took the state’s representation in the federal government away… Visit this web site and read then donate if you can support the premise… Thanks…

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 11:13amwhat conservatives need to be focusing on is what we’re going to do after the economic collapse of america.
at this point, worrying about how much we’re going to lose the next general election is a waste of time. let the libiots centralize their power in the urban areas where they can feed on one another. when the trucks stop running, they all starve in the first month.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:58amI would like to know how much work or money you “bomb throwers” have spent to support a candidate for office. Pounding out a wordy essay on a keyboard does NOTHING to make a better political class in America. Work to elect better candidates!

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 10:11amI’m probably as old as you, Gray, if not older, and my face has been on the front page of national newspaper on political issues. I wouldn’t knock the folks by assuming they’re spending more time here than actually doing something, because there really is no telling. Instead, I would ENCOURAGE them to take action, and lead them to it by posting links to webpages where they CAN do something.
Now, I’m going to get a cup o’ joe. Want some?

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:49amRepresentational government demands that you be the same. If the object is to win elections then you should be the same as the majority.
The GOP pandering to the radical ,nationalist, fifth column adherents, the neo-birchers represented by the likes of Glenn Beck, with result in a lot of election losses.
Throwing bad money after bad.
You can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:44amThat was a good interview. Perhaps, I’ve been too hard on Kibbe. Now that DICK (emphasis added) Army took his ball and went home and they got Token Libertarian Girl on their team… He’s still punk on selling out our rights for security.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:42amBlue blood (Loser) Repubs are in full control of the party, as exemplified by the turning of Farce O’Rubio and Rand “No Stand” Paul. These guys will assist the Blue-Bloods in setting amnesty in concrete, thus securing Repub losses for decades to come. They will lose the house in 2014 opening the door for a possible seizure of power by DemonicRats.
Remember, the Black slaves were lost by the DemonicRat party in 1865. In 1965, the Blacks were purchased with tax dollars by DemonicRats via The Welfare Act, and they’ve been selling themselves into financial slavery since. The DemonicRats purchased Public Unions with tax dollars, and tax dollars are being used to buy the victims of DemonicRat-created unemployment. The illegal alien vote, via amnesty, will be purchased with tax dollars.
And tax dollars are being used to oppress Free men.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:20amMatt Kibbe is living in a porcelain bowl! FreedomWorks President and CEO Matt Kibbe says the party needs some new blood and should seek guidance in the conservative movement’s young, savvy activists”…
Repubs got them – and they squandered it! In fact, they’ve turned Farce O’Rubio and Rand “No Stand” Paul!
“who are ready and able to succeed in today’s decentralized political landscape.”
Say WHAT?!? Supreme Court says what? The Senate says what? Obammy says what? The ONLY difference in the political landscape is the House of Representatives, led by a wishy-washy crybaby who is easily steered by “Judas” McCain.
Matt Kibbe is as much a problem for Reaganites as is Karl Rove.

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:32amwell Rubio and Rand Paul are an improvement over GW Bush/McCain/Romney. Ideally, we would have Ron Paul but if they are going to force compromise, then someone like Rand Paul is going to happen. Woodyee, what are you expecting – Rick Santorum?

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:11amYes it is. It is ok to tell the insurance companies, I don’t need an inspection every year so you can tell me something I can’t see, but you can see, tells you something is wrong with me? I’ve got a book on my desk that says being fat is not a health risk, and it was written by a MD, and its referenced in the medical health journals. I’ve got a book on my desk that says nothing will harm me, no weapon shall prosper?
I am not going to argue if an insurance company is right or not, I’ve got a civil right to tell anyone that I should not have to have needles stuck in my arm to keep a job? What is this, Nazi Germany, the scientists are never wrong – AKA insurance companies? I don’t trust the medical community, and if and when I do, that should be my choice, not yours? You are not going to force me on medication I have to take for the rest of my life, because it will make your profit margin look better?
Oh, it will encourage lifestyle changes? That’s an opinion, that should not be law. Once you go down this road, where does it stop? You are depressed, obviously due to lack of sex, we can tell by your chemical measurements, you are going to report for sexual therapy sessions, here is the address? Doctors don’t have time to study your personal body, if you are not doing what needs to be done, its called culling the herd? Seriously.
It’s ok to be different, give big government the finger?

Posted on March 22, 2013 at 9:01amThe Democrat-Republican charade is OVER. “Republican” George H.W. Bush advised us to accept the New World Order; “Republican” George W. Bush finished off the old “America.” We are now a bona fide Communist country, one completely dependent upon Communist China. The fifty star flag must go. It should be replaced by a flag with a singular large Red Star. Questions, Comrades???
