The Horrifying Moment a Great White Shark Busted Through Shark-Proof Cage and Nearly Ate Newlywed Diver

A relaxing vacation in Gansbaai, South Africa almost turned into a nightmare when a newlywed nearly got eaten by a great white shark.

While out on the ocean Thursday, recently-married diver, Roger, decided to get into a shark-proof diving cage. It turns out the cage wasn’t as “shark-proof” as one might hope.

Here’s what happened, according to Bryan Plummer, the guy who shot the amazing footage and posted it on YouTube:

“A shark totally ignores the bait and goes straight for the cage!! He gets his head inside the cage, while fellow diver Roger (who got married the day before), acted quickly to swim below the gaping sharks mouth and to avoid any injury.”

“Holy f**kballs!” Plummer screams as he watches the shark trying to eat the diver.

Talk about a close call. Watch the incredible video below (Warning! Strong language):

What is it with people feeding sharks?

It trains the shark to think people are food!

If they wanted to do divers a favor, have shock prods all around the cage. Then, when the shark comes up, ZAP. It would train them that divers mean pain.

Kind of like getting people too lazy to look for a job, or work, Food Stamps!!!

Once they become dependant on Welfare, they never look for any other source of income!

I think this is a case where it would be desirable for the Darwin Rule to apply as to prevent

When you throw yourself off a bridge attached to a rubber band or fling yourself from a plane or swim with sharks you get NO sympathy from me. You asked for it, you deserve what you get. I am not wishing ill toward any of these folks but I no longer have any patience for the terminally ignorant.

“No Shark Biting Zone – 50 foot radius around boat.”

    Duh.

Let’s dip every democrat into shark infested waters with all kinds of fish and seal-meat hooked on them. Of course,….democrats, being the PETA members they are would not want a shark to hurt himself on steel bars…….so lets just stick a big hook through their feet and dangle them head first.

Don’t they have an emergency “lift the cage out of the water” system? I would think that the people in the cage would demand it, wouldn’t you?

That cage probably weighs at least 400-500 lbs. The boat would need to be equipped with a massive crane like they have on crab fishing vessels in order to pull it out of the water anything close to fast. Small boats just aren’t capable of mounting that type of equipment.

not with the 1000 + lb shark half in it. The weight alone may break the anchor ropes sending it to the bottom. Now who wants to make the free dive to hook it back up or the divers in it to swim to the surface……no cage and one pissed off hungry white.

The ‘progressives in the cage is a good ides, though PETA says they can’t use the cage because it restricts the shark from swimming in every inch of the entire ocean and that’s cruel to the shark.
