The Lengths to Which This Guy Went to Impress the Girl He ‘Really Liked’ Will Astound You (It Backfired Big Time)

Guys tend to go out of their way to impress a pretty girl. The average dude might hold open a door, pull out a chair or pay for dinner to let a girl know they are one of the good ones.

But one Arkansas man took it a step too far in his bid to convince his love interest that he was heroic — by staging a fake rape attempt. Not only did he stage a fake rape attempt, the fake rape attempt was aimed at the girl he “really liked.”

Earlier this week, 26-year-old Jeffery Tyler Siegel and a woman told police they had been attacked while walking back from something called the lookout pavilion in Jonesboro, Ark. The couple told police that a man wearing all black and holding a large knife emerged from the woods and told Siegel, “You can go; but your girlfriend stays.”

The woman, reacting normally, took off on foot. However, Siegel stayed back heroically to fight the “attacker.” At least that’s what he told police. He claimed the apparent rapist slashed him twice on the chest and the wrist before he grabbed him and kneed him in the stomach, emerging victorious. It was at this point, that he says he ran away.

Police were unable to find the “attacker” anywhere. Police called in Siegel in for an interview about the incident and something just didn’t sit right with Detective Mike Branscum.

A police report states that “Tyler was texting just before the assault.”

Eventually Siegel agreed to meet with the detective.  According to the report, he initially told the same story.  But the detective said he could “tell from his body language” that Siegel, who was also “very nervous,” was withholding something.

Siegel began to “shut down” and became “verbally unresponsive,” Branscum reported.

After several minutes, Branscum said he would not file charges if Siegel would just tell the truth.

According to the report, “At that point he finally confessed that he lied about the incident.”

Siegel told the officer he “really liked” the woman and “felt that if he did something like this it would help him with his chances with her.”

Luckily for Siegel, he was not charged in the incident and the case is now closed.

Unlucky for him, the woman he wanted to hook up with is not impressed. She told the news station that the attack seemed “very real.”

She also took a shot at Siegel, saying what he did “was not very heroic.” Unsurprisingly, he’s got no chance at a second date.
