The Senate on Friday voted 54-45 to throw out the latest Republican effort to repeal President Obama’s health care law.

This is the GOP’s 36th attempt repeal The Affordable Care Act, according to Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa).

Sen. Tex Cruz (R-Texas) had attached to the Democratic budget resolution an amendment that sought to “establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund to provide for the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.”

In short, the Texas senator tried to repeal “Obamacare” and encourage “patient-centered reforms to reduce costs,” as The Hill puts it.

“Obamacare was passed with many promises, and in reality, it has not delivered,” Cruz said right before the vote. “Obamacare is hurting young people, it’s hurting seniors, it’s hurting Hispanics, it’s hurting African-Americans, it’s hurting the economy and it should be repealed.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell before the vote also warned that the new health care law will be an expensive drag on the economy.

“Three years later, the President’s health care law remains a job-killer that grows the government and slows the economy, which is why it’s important to repeal the whole thing and replace it with commonsense reforms that lower costs and that Americans actually want,” McConnell said.

Sen. Cruz’s amendment was easily voted down by 52 Democrats and two Independents. All 45 Republicans voted in favor of the amendment.

“I am proud that Senate Republicans once again stood united and unanimously voted to undo this devastating legislation,” Cruz said after the vote.

“Our economy is stagnant right now — last quarter it was 0.1 percent — and sadly, every Democrat who voted, voted to continue implementing Obamacare even as the economy is gasping for breath.”

    Those who still support the takeover of our country’s health care should be incarcerated. I am amazed the democrats are still pushing Obamacare forward. Many nations are moving away from the US Dollar, and when the US Dollar is no longer the world’s reserve currency…the criminals in the Federal Reserve can no longer “print more money”. The USA is insolvent and the politicians are hiding this fact from the American people. A rough ride is coming… 1929 will have been a small thunderstorm compared to what is coming. The basxxxrds in Washington DC have destroyed our country, and they still KEEP SPENDING!!!

    All Government agencies are full of mismanagement, over spending, over staffed with under qualified people, fraud, theft and abuse. Why in the heck would common sense logical thinking intelligence freedom loving people really want this type of operation managing one of the most vital parts of your life…your healthcare?!       The problem is not with those of us who think independently and consider the consequences of each and every action. The problem is the irresponsible, inconsiderate, selfish, idiotic sheep that vote these progressives in. We are not at a point, where it will take more than just voting to get these cancers out of our system. It’s going to take blood, sweat and tears of getting active and exposing corruption. All these progressives need is a few useful idiots to get them in. Once they’re in, it’s like an STD, it just starts spreading and spreading, attaching itself to the body as the parasite it is.

      As enraged as I am about the infiltration of our government by progressives, communists, Islamic sympathizers, and radical socialists, I am more enraged at the idiots who allow these people to do what they do.

    The majority of Democrats would rather write a blank check to the insurance agencies, then defend the US Constitution like Republicans are doing?

    That’s just ignant? Are we buying elections now? This ain’t rocket science, every time the insurance industry needs money, they are just going to print it, they send us the bill? You gave them their own currency? Think about it?

    This is the kind of power you were supposed to reserve only to Congress, now you have created a new currency, and it is managed by scientists who can make the best sales pitches to politicians, who ignore the thousands of letters and phone calls we make?

    Still think recording elections on DVD is a bad idea, so we can verify votes? The politician that makes these kinds of changes, will be called the next President of the United States?

    Elections have consequences. Bill Mars is complaining about the result of his vote. He hates paying higher taxes. You wait till Obamacare kicks in. If we can get someone like Bill Mars to regret the result of his vote maybe we can get millions more to follow suit. I have not been more encouraged in years then this next election. (that is if we can overcome illegal voter fraud). However if the ones that purpatrate that fraud, are fed up with all the taxes and financial hardships then maybe we may finally have a chance. Next step after that is impeachment.
    However the sweet whine of the liberals over their personal losses because of Obama will sorely be missed by me. I think its just about to start. Enjoy.

    It’s okay people that hellish law will crash the system just as it was designed to do. It’ll destroy our health care system and bankrupt us so a vote to repeal the POS law isn’t necessary,it’ll fall of it’s own weight.

I would ask small businesses and big corporations to let know their employees how expensive and inconvenient this Bill is for each and every one of them…Let feel the low informed and indoctrinated people, how wrong is that Progressive scam. Explain them how is designed to hurt the best health care of the world, to kill research, doctors, and of course us as the patients and all Americans drowned in increase debt… Show them how hyper regulated and over taxes and inflated costs are increasing each year. TEACH them, they do not know yet…and they must see it clearly!!!

    Kudos to The Blaze for printing the name and State of everyone of these fools. Florida papers do this every time there is a vote, even when the tax increase is just $.01.
    Print the list and email every one of these blow holes and let them know to start looking for work come election day.

    If we dont stop electing tax and spend liberals and RINOs , we will soon be converting to Peso’s.

    This thing is going to implode on it’s self … wait until the Obama voters find out that they have to buy (it isn’t free) health insurance or pay a “tax”that wasn’t a tax .. with their income from a now part time job and they can’t find doctor because they have retired. Premiums are expected to rise over 200% next year per a government report and these dems just put their voters in a no win situation. The rest of us have known for over 3 years the disaster headed our way but the low info crowd are going to be shocked and p!ssed.

      Agreed. Rush told earlier this week of the guy at Home Depot who said other CEOs told him that their employees blamed THEIR EMPLOYERS for their smaller paychecks in January. They’ll do the same thing again when the cost of Obamacare hits.

      Too bad employers couldn’t learn from this January and develop training, communications, etc., to let their employees know why costs are going up so much.

      Of course, it will then be blamed on the Repubs and the emperor will win total control of the legislative branch in Nov, 2014.

      @TRIPLE7 We’re at a point now that trying to get more from the rich won’t matter. The government is already spending about a trillion more than it takes in. Obamacare is just going to add to that. The Fed is creating $85 billion/month to cover the shorfall. They can tax the rich all they want but it won’t fix this situation.
