Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker quickly copped to “misspeaking” on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday about the number of deaths from gun violence — then issued a follow-up to correct his correction.

Booker, a major Twitter user, tweeted Sunday morning that he’d been wrong about the number of daily gun deaths:

Just caught myself miss-speaking on ABC. Its hundreds being killed everyday not thousands. Sorry about that.

Two minutes later, he was back with this note:

Sorry again, officially it is approximately 30 people murdered every day due to gun violence.
