Hollywood actor Patrick Stewart, widely known for his role as Captain Picard in the “Star Trek” franchise, on Friday was somehow able to inject some humor into the recent disturbing revelations of widespread domestic surveillance in the United States.
“I should have never switched to Verizon,” he wrote via his official Twitter account. The joke was accompanied by a photo of him locked into a medieval stock or pillory and the hashtag #NSA.
While his really clever joke doesn’t make the situation any less serious, it at least gives us a reason to smile.
