Snowden hopped on a plane to Hong Kong weeks ago after he leaked classified information about the NSA’s secret and massive surveillance programs. The whistleblower revealed the government’s secret court order requiring Verizon to turn over all customer metadata and also leaked information on “PRISM,” a surveillance program that reportedly collects data on millions of Americans from telecommunications and online companies.

In an exclusive interview with the Guardian newspaper, Snowden said he never told Mills exactly where he was going, only that he would be gone for a few weeks. He said “that was not an uncommon occurrence for someone who has spent the last decade working in the intelligence world” so his girlfriend didn’t ask questions.

“He said Miss Mills has been visited twice since his disappearance by NSA federal agents and by local police, though he suspects it was because he didn’t show up for work,” the Daily Mail reports.

A real estate agent this weekend said the couple had moved out about a month ago after the owner of the house decided to sell it.

Snowden also claims he never told Mills about his plan to leak explosive classified documents. He has since left the Hong Kong hotel he was staying at. His current whereabouts are unknown.
