Miss Utah’s Awkward Answer During the Miss USA Pageant Is One of the Worst You’ll Ever See

“We need to try figure out how to create education better.”

That was part of Miss Utah’s answer during Sunday’s Miss USA pageant. And it only got worse.

The 21-year-old beauty, Marissa Powell, was asked why women breadwinners continue to make less than men.

“I think we can relate this back to education, and how we are continuing to try to strive to [pause] figure out how to create jobs right now, that is the biggest problem,” she began. It was all down hill from there. There were several more awkward pauses and smiles.

You can watch the cringe-worthy answer below:

The response may have dethroned Miss Teen USA South Carolina Caitlin Upton in 2007. That answer about maps has become a classic:

If you’d like to hear Miss Utah USA answer some questions where she doesn’t choke, check out her pre-pageant video where she admits she believes in aliens:

Hopefully she recovers from this like Upton did, who went on to star on “The Amazing Race,” seems to be finding work as an actress and model, and even has fun with her famous flub on Twitter.
