Forbes Magazine on Wednesday released its 14th annual Celebrity 100 ranking of the 100 wealthiest and most powerful celebrities in the world.
And with an estimated net worth of roughly $77 million dollars, TV host Oprah Winfrey reclaims her spot at first place.
“She had fallen to No. 2 for two consecutive years, but is back on top thanks to her Oprah Winfrey Network,” USA Today reports, adding that Forbes’ annual list “isn’t just about income.”
“The Celebrity 100 measures money and fame, including estimated earnings over the last 12 months, and how often each celebrity is mentioned in print, on TV and in social media,” the report adds. “Earnings consist of pre-tax income between June 1, 2012, and June 1, 2013.”
Here are the top 10 most influential and wealthy celebrities according to Forbes:
No. 10: Ellen DeGeneres, $56 million
No. 9: Justin Bieber, $58 million
No. 8: Roger Federer, $71 million
No. 7: Bon Jovi, $79 million
No. 6: Taylor Swift, $55 million
No. 5: Madonna, $125 million
No. 4: Beyoncé, $53 million
No. 3: Steven Spielberg, $100 million
No. 2: Lady Gaga, $80 million
No. 1: Oprah, $77 million
As the above list clearly shows, musicians own the 2013 Celebrity 100. Also notable is the fact that women comprise 60 percent of the 100 list. How’s that for progress?
“Notable newcomers to the 2013 list include Hugh Jackman (No. 11); Channing Tatum (No. 23); Jennifer Lawrence (No. 49); Emma Stone (No. 84); Mila Kunis (No. 89), Amy Poehler (No. 92), Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. (Erika) James (No. 42); model Miranda Kerr (No. 100) and TV host Sean Hannity (No. 72),” the report notes.
“Dropping off the list are some surprising favorites: Adele, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Johnny Depp, Alex Rodriguez, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon and Elton John,” it adds.
And then of course there’s media mogul Glenn Beck.
Beck in 2013 came in at around $90 million, putting him ahead of such heavyweights as conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh ($66 million) and Will Smith.
“With his website The Blaze, Beck has proven that there is a way to make money with news on the Internet,” Forbes editors write. But as the network grows, it admits you can “expect wider distribution coming soon.”
