Glenn Beck is currently in Salt Lake City preparing for his Independence Day “Man in the Moon” event, and in the days leading up to the show, TheBlaze TV is featuring exclusive previews and “behind-the-scenes” clips.
On Tuesday, viewers got a peek inside the motivations behind the show.
“I remember sitting at my grandfather’s feet and having him tell me stories,” Beck explained with a smile. “His stories were just fun – most of them weren’t true – but better stories to me are the ones that are true, and those are the ones I have my kids sit at my feet or cuddle up next to me in bed [to] tell…”
“I’ve been telling them the story of the Man in the Moon for a while,” he continued. “I have the extra added benefit that not only can I tell them the story and write the story, but then they get to see it being made. It’s fun to hear my 7 and 8-year-old tell their friends, “My dad’s building robots in the middle of the desert!”
The camera then cuts to a scene of Glenn’s son Raphe and his friend, Bowan (both stars of Beck’s 2012 Christmas Spectacular), talking about history.
Abraham Lincoln was killed by “Mr. Boot something,” one said. “Bootinger?” the other added.
The two talked about the accomplishments of Abraham Lincoln, before reverting back to the assassination.
“Well, you always know there’s evil people in the world,” one of the young boys said matter-of-factly, tossing a rock into the fire.
