Zimmerman Trial Erupts in Technological Chaos

George Zimmerman’s murder trial erupted in technological chaos Wednesday when witness testimony via the Internet call service Skype was interrupted with a rash of incoming calls.

Gordon Scott Pleasants, Zimmerman’s former criminal justice professor at Seminole State Community College, was testifying remotely when a steady stream of calls began filling the screen, accompanied by Skype’s distinctive pinging noise.

The judge quickly grew exasperated and demanded the phone call be terminated.

“There’s now a really good chance that we’re being toyed with, just so you know,” defense attorney Mark O’Mara said.
