We’ve seen some innovative marriage proposals: there was the fake movie trailer proposal; the proposal spelled out in DNA fragments; the on-air news anchor proposal; the classic lip-dub proposal and more. But somehow this guy got actor Zach Braff to help him out with popping the question to his girlfriend, Janice.
In a YouTube video showing the proposal, Matt Hulbert wrote that Janice was a big fan of the “Scrubs” actor and that his involvement in the big moment would “blow her away.”
So, did Hulbert know the Braff or know someone who knew someone who knew Braff?
Interestingly enough, Hulbert was able to get Braff on board through the crowd-funding site Kickstarter.
Earlier this year, Braff was running a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for his film “Wish I Was Here.” The campaign well exceeded its $2 million goal, garnering more than $3.1 million from supporters in May.
And that’s where Hulbert got started.
“I wanted to think of a really cool way to propose to my girlfriend, Janice, and this song and video is what I came up with. I wanted to show her that not only do I love her but that she’s loved by all our friends and family too. This was particularly important as she hasn’t been able to see much of her family for 7 years since she moved to the UK and she misses them lots,” the description on the video read.
“I managed to get Zach involved through Kickstarter when pledging an amount for his new film ‘Wish I Was Here’. The team were SO kind and SO amazing they got his part of the video to me super early as they really liked the idea,” Hulbert continued explaining.
Other key players in addition to Braff, included the couple’s pets and family and friends.
And this is how it ended: she caved to all the peer pressure and said “yes.”
