If you were to watch this video on mute, you’d be hard pressed to figure out what’s going on. Still, that might be a fun exercise. But if you don’t do that, let me explain that you’re about to see Providence, RI, reporter Julie Tremmel of WJAR-TV trying to explain what you should do if you see a bear. And while she may have technically nailed it, she did it in some of the funniest ways possible.
We’ll include her explanation along with her accompanying motions.
“According to experts, you should avoid direct eye contact with the bear.”
“Don’t run away, instead back off slowly.”
“Wave your arms to let the animal know you’re human.”
“Don’t yell. Stay quiet…”
“…unless the bear attacks then scream “
“…and throw things at the bear.”
“If the bear attacks, curl up into a ball on your side or lay flat on your stomach.”
“And above all, stay calm.”
Now watch the video tie it all together, which TV Spy jokes appears to show “she was re-enacting what happens after getting some bad meatloaf at the local deli”:
