Congressman James Clyburn (D-S.C.) donned a hooded sweatshirt to speak at a rally for slain teen Trayvon Martin, one of at least 100 such events to take place across the nation Saturday.

Reporter Jasmine Styles for WLTX-TV tweeted a photo of Clyburn speaking in front of the South Carolina state house, one week after a jury acquitted George Zimmerman in Martin’s shooting death.

The hoodie sweatshirt has become a symbol in the wake of Martin’s death, and Clyburn is not the first congressman to wear one in support: last year, Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush of Illinois was reprimanded after taking off his suit jacket and wearing a hoodie to give a speech on the House floor.
