San Diego Mayor Bob Filner is officially banned from four Hooters locations in the city. The popular restaurant chain has posted signs outside its establishments indicating that Filner “will not be served” and upholding a belief that women deserve to be treated with respect.

The sign used by Hooters was actually created by none other than Glenn Beck.

“I think this sign should be in every establishment in San Diego,” Beck declared on his radio show last week, urging residents not to let a “sexual predator…get away with” such deplorable reported behavior. The signs are available to download and print at glennbeck.com.

Melissa Fry, director of marketing for HootWinc, told Slate that the signs went up at all four San Diego locations.

“It’s not a political move for us in any way, shape, or form. We’re strictly taking a stand for the fair treatment of women. At our franchise alone, we employ 1,100 beautiful, talented women,” she said.

Slate later updated its post to note that the sign was originally suggested by Beck. However, a few other outlets that reported on the story were either unaware or neglected to mention Beck was behind the sign.

While Hooters isn’t the first business to take Beck’s advice to ban Filner and demand women be treated with respect, it certainly is the largest one…so far.

U-T San Diego reported that a stunt by local radio talk show host Mike Slater also stoked the sign frenzy. Slater has been telling people on his Facebook page to download the sign via Glenn Beck’s website for days and Beck even helped him promote it on his show, U-T San Diego noted.
