A woman in Texas is reportedly being sued by police for allegedly not informing officers how dangerous a situation in her home was after dialing 911 for help.
Deputy Braden Pullen was assaulted by a man on bath salts when he responded to a call in Harris County in December, according to KEYE-TV.
Now, Pullen is suing the homeowner who called for help, reportedly alleging gross negligence for her failure to inform the 911 operator about the man’s potential for violence resulted in his injuries.
Police officials, however, are still encouraging residents to dial 911 during emergencies.
“Every day we have servant leaders who are responding to calls from the community,” said Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. “Continue to call us if you need the help, and we’ll be there. And we’ll be there to help.”
