Kenneth Cole, a famous New York fashion designer, is under fire for seemingly using the deadly Syria conflict to sell footwear.
Referencing potential U.S. military action in Syria on Thursday, Cole tweeted: “‘Boots on the ground’ or not, let’s not forget about sandals, pumps and loafers.” He also included the friendly #Footwear hashtag.
The response to the fashion designer’s tweet was overwhelmingly critical. Many Twitter users also pointed out that Cole also joked about increasingly chaotic protests in Egypt to promote his new spring collection in 2011.
